He was brought up from the GLeague way later in the season and was really good in his short time in the NBA, and while Jalen Green was ballin out, showcasing his talents on the Ignite team, KPJ was actually leading the league in scoring with 7 rebounds and 7.5 assists. He's shown he can run the offense, averaged >7 assists on the Rockets with a team around him that had no idea how to put the ball in the basket. He needs to cut down on his turnovers, but he is very much in line to run PG after they somehow move John Wall. He's not the only guy that is a roster lock, either. Jae'sean Tate is the best do-literally-everything role player that no one knows about because he's on Houston, and Kenyon Martin Jr. as a versatile rotation big that can score in multiple ways if needed but play elite defense 1-4 and swallow rebounds. Lastly, people just love to run with nonsense stories and run wild. Wood "is all about himself" ? Based on what? He's consistently only ever talked about how appreciative of Houston he is that they thought that highly of him after being tossed around by various teams. All the negative press he gets is really just a player that assumes a 'cornerstone' role of a rebuilding franchise and is frustrated by losing so much. AKA he's human. Detroit Pistons are massive winners. Addition of cade at first overall, Isaiah Livers falling in the second round, Luka Garza is an intriguing pick at 52, and adding all of those pieces to the solid young core that they already have makes the Pistons future just look brighter and brighter.
I thought GSW did great. I get the whole win-now mode, but the key is the health of Klay and the growth of Wiseman. If those happen, i think loading up on future stars could do them solid since Steph could play for quite a bit longer and contribute for a while.

The funny thing is how they say Orlando gets unlucky every year but this time they are convinced that the Magic got lucky. How about if Scotty Barnes turns out to be the better player? It's not like Scuggs is head and shoulders above Scotty. I read that Orlando and OKC had Scotty rated ahead of Jalen. I like Jalen Scuggs as a player but I think Scotty is just as good.
Yeah a lot of the debate between those two guys is groupthink. The media pushed Jalen being the better prospect but teams have a much better gauge and perspective.
As a Warriors fan I'm happy with the draft. Moody seems like a plug and play guy as Klay comes back, he can learn the movement stuff and play D. Kuminga has upside and well see. Both could be trade assets and if they are, then they still got guys slotted to be off the board. Watching Toronto since they drafted Siakam 2.0, looks that way from afar at least.
This recap reiterates how little the talking heads in sports actually know about teams and players. It's funny these guys are assigning grades but don't know half of what these teams know about draft prospects.
The balled headed guy loved Mobley at the #1 or #2 pick now that Cavs picked him they don't even mention him. Trust me it doesn't matter how many players you pick its the right player.
I think the implied qualifier for his argument is that unless it's a consensus foundational center in the top 10, no center should go in the first round. There's a huge gap between Mobley/Barnes and the rest of the other centers in the draft.
So tell me why exactly does Presti not just keep Sengun? Those 2 picks they got for him are heavily protected anyway, and that kid just won the MVP as an 18 yr old in one of the best basketball leagues outside the NBA. I mean he's not a sureshot offcourse, but getting a promising young prospect at 16 who actually could fit in pretty good with your young team? Are they collecting picks JUST to eventually trade them away for 1 or 2 stars? If you wont keep a player like Sengun at 16, who IS he going to keep? Would have loved to see him play along Poku, Dort and SGA
Might be telling that teams that could use a center, like the Kings (with Bagley not working out and Holmes maybe leaving), Hornets, Spurs, Wizards and Thunder all passed up on him. I also read a lot of scouting reports that see him as a Enes Kanter-type of player. The type of player you can get in free agency for cheap. Maybe Sengun will pan out, but he needs to improve in a lot of areas (defense, speed/explosiveness, shooting) before he'll be anything other than a fine post-player.
as a warriors fan I'm ecstatic with what we were Able to do. I mean I would have liked a trade the picks but our picks were amazing. Kuminga falling was huge and surprising but moody was a even bigger surprise. personal I would like to keep one and trade the other but both are valid.
The depth the Ws have is pretty badass. I like our top 12 guys! May be a reason to trade some of them but if we roll with what we got, it'll be fun. Summer league should be good too, Manion, new 2, Wiseman maybe, Poole probably won't go, did in Australia? I'm stoked 🤗

Raptors are idiots. They treat the 1st round picks like it's the 2nd round. We need a guard. Kyle's old(possibly gone) and Fllyn//fred cant carry this team
@@gdawgs101 Suggs needs the ball in his hands to be efficient. They already got FVV, Flynn, Trent Jr, Pascal....Barnes is the answer to small ball, you'll see.
I do think that Barnes has a lot of great skills for sure and has a nice upside but is he the next type of future superstar player? I mean if he develops a better jump shot, that would be great especially with a very talented development program in Toronto. I still feel like Raptors should’ve gotten Suggs cause of the fact that he is also a potential to be a great player and is a better fit too especially with Lowry most likely leaving. We will see who won in a couple years
They can get Chet or Paola next draft. Pair them with Jalen, Josh, KPJ and KJ Martin
Or Jabari
The draft is such a guess.. I feel like OKC going with Giddey is huge! Lamelo ball was the last ROY in the NBL and look how he’s looking… Giddey broke his triple double record and he’s 18.. 6’8 pg that can do everything.. imagine him at 21?! He’s a child and been killing adult pros for years
Wish the best for Giddey. He'll be good but we can't necessarily use the success of LaMelo as a gauge for what Giddey will do.
Mobley: *goes 3rd with potential to be the best player from this draft*
Bill: “I think the days of big men going in the lottery are over.”
Anyone listening to this before 2022 draft?
Before 2024 🫨
KOC... the next "from analyst to GM" guy???
His first two moves would be to give max contracts to Killian Hayes and Mo Bamba. 😂
If those happen, i think loading up on future stars could do them solid since Steph could play for quite a bit longer and contribute for a while.
kind of funny to re watch this
I'll never understand the Ringer's video decision making. They post 26 minutes of a 53 minute podcast, but leave out the ending ~third where both KOC and Russillo are both dying of laughter. Would've loved to see that. Anyone only watching this video, check out the pod just after the woj vs shams talk. From that point on it's just goofy lmao. Russillo breaks in a way I haven't really heard.
wheres the rest?
@@lobodolo there’s no video for the rest of it, as far as I can find (despite the fact they record all of it). You just have to listen to the rest as a podcast. It IS funny stuff tho.
gotta agree with Ryan here... there is not enough evidence that shows that Beal is truly pushing for an out... but at the same time, there is zero percent chance that Beal woke up today and said "wow, now we are moving in the right direction"... zero... and again, whom in their correct mind would rather have the picks taken vs Westbrook... everybody is always so down on Russ, but the run to make the playoffs was more about Russ than it was about Beal from my perspective...
Watching Toronto since they drafted Siakam 2.0, looks that way from afar at least.
siakam 2.0 lol, barnes at 19 is a better ball handler and playmaker than siakam, much much more potential
@@user-qb6vv9qm1c Siakam is overrated af imo. I'm hoping the W's don't trade Wiggins plus for him. Please no!
KOC solo would work. Rockets had a beast draft for sure. But Cade will be a star.

The balled headed guy loved Mobley at the #1 or #2 pick now that Cavs picked him they don't even mention him. Trust me it doesn't matter how many players you pick its the right player.
Bill talks about getting centers for cheap but doesn’t mention Mobley or Barnes at 3 and 4
Bill is NOT a draft guy or trade-offseason guy, more of a great personality and basketball historian.
I think the implied qualifier for his argument is that unless it's a consensus foundational center in the top 10, no center should go in the first round. There's a huge gap between Mobley/Barnes and the rest of the other centers in the draft.
he said unless it is an all nba type of talent, which mobley is
I just wish he covered them there because it was the case where super skilled big men went early
Garuba the steal of the draft played in the best european league and played against men.
Bill Chet Holmgren or Paola are going number one next year!! They are both bigs. Then after that the big from France is going number 1 or Jalen Duren. They are going to run the next couple drafts

Not a Spurs fan, but I trust the organization too.
Spurs front office has 100% trust on their player development guys, taking the youngest guy possible, intending to mold him like a formless piece of clay. I just have my reservations on their scouting corps as they do not have the same advantage on international players anymore. If anything, the new GM is tending to just pick American kids recently (the Samanic pick was pre-new GM right?)

Hes been arrested twice since he was drafted for violence, drunk driving, drugs, missuse of a firearm, and more violence.
There are several other allegations that he didnt get arrested for because hes an NBA player including beating up a woman when he was drunk at a club.
Then theres the time he violated COVID protocols within a month of arriving in Houston with one of his team mates. They went to a strip club together, and KPJ picked a fight with a bunch of dudes and got his team mate beaten up.

KPJ will be out of the league by the age of 25.
Josh Giddey
Pistons will have a better draft than Houston book it because three of the 4 hit over 40% over three. Livers would have gone much higher if he didn't get injured. Garza is an offensive monster who only has to prove with his 30 lb weight loss that he can defensively stay on the court. I think this will be apparent especially once everyone realizes the positions aside from Cade that they were drafted at in the second round.
