I used my AWAY carry-on and dragged it through Europe for roughly 3 weeks through 5 countries on the trains (including stops in London with NO lift); the bag I have was literally dragged down 4 or 5 flights of stairs (cement stairs) and came out completely unscratched and looks as great as it did except for the wheels which were obviously dragged over some cobblestone streets/stone sidewalks. I love that it has the lifetime warranty and would buy another in a heartbeat if I traveled more often and needed a bigger suitcase.
I really appreciate your review of this bag. Other's that I've seen have been glowing, nothing constructive to say about the bag. As always, great video, thanks for sharing. And I'd like pink, thanks. :-D
OMG, someone with a brain, I can't believe it. Great vid bro, and good advice for people that can't think critically. Impressed with your principals as well. Good job...
I really appreciated seeing this video about Away luggage, and also now seeing how many other useful reviews Sebastian has on his website. What I liked most about this review of Away luggage was that he gave the 'cons' first, and covered some issues that people may not think of, or at least may not know they needed to think of, before buying. Really glad to have come across the site. Thank you Sebby.
I just ordered my first set of Away luggage based upon a friend's suggestion who has had hers for several years. She thought she noticed the zipper started to wear, so contacted Away to ask what to do about it. They sent her a brand new bag, and had her send the potentially damaged bag back in the same box. That type of warranty and customer service is surprising these days. She hasn't had any issues with her other luggage, and uses it every time she travels. I'm anxious to receive mine, and hope you still have the micro-luggage in pink. Thanks!
i usually used rimowa for over 10y and im happy w it, i do use tumi as well but the tumi wheels really cant compare with rimowa, rimowa still way more better then tumi. as a frequent traveler (two times usa~asia every month) im so interesting away luggage now due to so many videos n some of my friends recommend. i think i will give it a try . thx for the video, its awesome n honest review
LUGGAGE TIPS 1, 2, 3 Tie two or three colored ribbons around the handle to your luggage to warn others that this is not their luggage. People grab luggage at the turnstile and take it home before you ever see it. Anywhere you put your bag, it could be grabbed in error. Example: overhead compartment, unloaded from the bus, at the hotel lobby, at the airport turnstile... These ribbons make your luggage different and EASY TO SPOT when the piece is surrounded by 35 other cases unloaded from the bus. Use 1” wide ribbons 14” long and not longer. Cut the ends at 45 degrees. Scissor cut trim the ribbons to cascading different lengths after they are tied. Put a drop of Super Glue at the end. If each ribbon is slightly a different length by 1/4” the color layers will all show up no matter how they drape. Tie the 3 ribbons as a sandwich, as if they were one ribbon. Use a man’s tie, a half Windsor knot for the best look. After it is tied on, the total length of the ribbons will be about 5 inches from the handle. This is too short to catch on anything. Half Windsor knot tying ruclips.net/video/S_ny-hrKqzU/видео.html You can see this ribbon from 40 feet away. Perhaps tie TWO handles or RINGS top and side of the case. This way, it won’t slide around. This knot does not loosen. Put your phone number on one ribbon using a permanent Sharpie. Example: “Owner 454-333-7878” No personal name necessary. No address necessary on the ribbon. Choose one ribbon with an unusual pattern or fabric to really make it unique. Stand by the output port of the turnstile to reduce the chance of someone else grabbing your piece. Tie your skiies, duffel bag, backpack and what ever else with matching ribbons-even your computer case. If you are a Travel Agent, you could hot gold stamp one ribbon with your name and phone number. Send them a set of ribbons, red and blue and BLACK to your customer as a gift. Record this gift in your database so you don’t duplicate yourself. Buy a gold hot embossing machine. Gold emboss your business name on the BLACK ribbon. Put the customer’s name on it if possible. Pleasant color combinations: Red and blue Chartreuse and purple Orange and light blue Orange and yellow Gray and pink Green and yellow Red and Green Red and Gold Light blue and light green The third ribbon could be white, gray, black, tan Tip #2 Take a cell phone picture of the ribbon tied on. Then another picture of the full luggage piece. You now have a way to communicate “what it looks like” if someone is tasked with searching for it. Take this picture outside in direct sun. Tip #3 Place a strip of colored duct tape on the inside lining to your case. Put your name and phone number on this tape. If all identity is stripped from your case, you have this to show. If someone steals it and rips off identity tags, you can show the police officer the inside tape..
My battery pack is built into the case. Ya, my phone is a brick, but I always have my pack with me. And every time I charge my phone, my pack recharges also.
I appreciate your review. But when it comes to luggage, Rimowa is the way to go and I realized that from your constructive video. Luggage is supposed to last for more than just a few trips! I bought my Rimowa 6 years ago and it’s a spinner. I am not a 100% sure if Rimowa was the first luggage brand to come out with 4 wheels but the quality of the wheels is like no other, I have never had any issues and I’ve taken it on 30+ trips. Wheels are large and still roll like new. Rimowa is quite pricey but so is Away and it seems like Away is just a tad better than Samsonite but way pricier, so a lot of it is just hype.
Forget about it bro, those hard case luggages are slippery and slide off of everything. People who handle luggage for a living hate these and will go out of their way to throw them harder. Do your self a favor and get a soft material luggage with friction. 😉
As a gate agent, I LOVE the bag simply because it's monogrammed. Seeing millions of black bags that are barely labeled with nothing more than a tag I'd print out gives me a little anxiety.
Have you tried break the zipper by inserting the Pen? Some of the tamperproof zipper out there my prevent you from doing that. Are you able to demonstrate on updated Video?
Hi, I came across this video as I was looking up luggage reviews. You mention bringing your electronic equipment. Did the airport give you a hard time about bringing all those items in a carry-on?
Thank you for reviewing these bags. Although I suspect that the link for the bag is no longer working, I’m still going to consider getting it. Especially since I normally carry American Tourister or Samsonite!
Great review. Although I am surprised by the mention that samsonites breaking every month. I have used my American tourister and after that a Samsonite for 4 years each with around 60-65 trips a year. I am looking at going to Tumi now just because I like their looks. I don't know if someone will buy a Tumi or Briggs and have been using it for decades
Thanks Sebby. It would be really good if you had the time to make a packing video please. I’m tempted to get the Bigger Carry On as I am shortly to go on a two week holiday and would like to pack a week’s worth of clothes (with a wash at the end of the first week), a medium sized toiletry bag; a compact camera; tech pouch with all my chargers and cables; an extra pair of shoes and an iPad and kindle. Do-able?
Once again Sebby saves the day! I’ve been on a waiting list for the black Bigger Carry-on w Pocket for almost a month, no ETA. I didn’t even know there was a location in Hayes Valley. So I called them, they had 5 in stock. Ordered it and they waived the shipping charge. Btw, they’re discontinuing the Pocket so maybe it was a limited edition thing. Thank you Sebby, - you and Mandy are awesome!!
I am not in the camp of paying premium for a product that will last very long time. You will simply get sick of product or some new novelty comes out, you will end up discarding perfectly good product or donate to goodwill since donating makes you feel better. Based on stack of donations in goodwill, I am in very high majority. So, buy an appropriately priced product and use them without thinking about dinks and scratches that will appear on your shiny new luggage. Just my two cents.
I love how honest this review is! I am just wondering what carry on do you use where you put your travel essentials? I think Nomad Lane is the best, I've been seeing a lot of people using it. Would appreciate if you also make an honest review of Nomad Lane Bento bag. :)
I travel every week and what annoys me about suitcases is rarely the strength of the hardcase, the polycarbonate or ABS rarely breaks, but the more practical things that break are the handle and wheels and zipper or interior nylon ripping. You really don't say much about those most practical QUALITY concerns. Other than that, great review mainly because you do say some real cons. Question: Is the handle wabbly? ...and which brands are better in the same price range?? Thanks much!
Handle is fine (to me at least). Weight can be a concern for some, depending on airlines. Briggs is the good/safe alternative. I'm not really a fan of their design though.
Thule makes the best luggage, at a very similar price point $200-$350 price range, super durable and it has a LIFETIME WARRANTY, which I used when the zipper broke they sent me out a new bag the same week!
Hi! I hope you can answer my question, but I was wondering if you have traveled with your Away luggage on a Lufthansa fly? Their size/weight restrictions seem pretty strict and I just want to make sure I can take the Away with me :)
I’d take asphalt or blue. It would be nice to see and feel something other than Samsonite. I bought a nice garment bag and the first flight the zipper on the front came up missing. Now I have a luggage strap to “identify” my bag. AKA hold the flap closed. Frustrating.
Green is my favorite color! I don't really need a new carry on bag at the moment, but I have been debating on whether or not I should get the medium checked bag. Pretty much all of the reviews on RUclips are for the carry on bags and their charging capabilities =\. Decisions, decisions.
My favorite color, honestly, is the *Minions Yellow.* It sucks that it's only available in the carry-on size, as it'd look great in a set, but as you've said before, the most easily stolen bags are black. I'd like to see them try and say a bright yellow Minions-themed bag is theirs. :) A tiny version of it would be cute to have for some extra stuff. For a color that is available for all sizes, the _Gray Malin - Alpine_ is lovely.
I have a question..In India many airlines do not allow us to carry powerbanks(portable battery for electronic gadgets) with us because there have been a high no. of battery blast cases on flights..This suitcase has inbuilt battery..Will it allowed here
I'm probably to late for the giveaway, but if not...I would like the Black one and I really do like your video..I will subscribe and really trying to decide on trying this bag out. I travel about 4 times a year, if not this bag, what are your thoughts on Samsonite? Thank you and have a wonderful day
While the video you showed is true that if someone wants to break into your bag through the zipper they can but when the zipper pulls are secured like this one or to the handle with regular locks that person cannot cover their tracks by running the zipper pulls back and forth without a key, picking the lock, or breaking the lock.
I do like the mentality of going for longevity. I'd love to see more videos concerning those kinds of decisions and aking things worth their value in the long run. Black if possible for the giveaway. Thank you!
Thanks for the review. Ive been debating whether to buy one of these or not. My family and I have always used Rimowa. This seems like a good cheaper alternative. Black Mini bag pls.
I carry all kinds of batteries with me. 5 dji drone batteries, 2 portable usb charging batteries. As long as it is in the case I carry my cameras, no issues.(Pelican Air)
I have been researching luggage for a trip to Ireland. My son and I will be heading to Ireland in March 2019. Really like your tips and the additional information about other luggage products. Thanks also for the tip on chargers. This was one of the reasons I was drawn to Away. But after your review, I am not so worried about their chargers as I do have several good ones of my own. Oh, if you are still doing the give away mini travel bag I like blue.
I guarantee my travel would crush those spinners in 2 days. Rule #1 - spinners are a no no. They don’t travel on gravel, and have to be drug sideways. Try taking through a country without paved roads. Or on deployment. This is for glam travel only. Nothing has lasted me more than a few months other than a denier nylon rolling duffle with compression straps. That is all I travel with. That’s the only luggage that will never let you down. Ever. This comes from experience.
For gravel / outdoors, I wouldn't even think of bringing a spinner. I definitely agree that these are geared towards city (or at least driving) travel. I wouldn't consider Faroe Islands (or other places I've brought it) glam travel though.
Thanks for the nice review! My friend and I used to have the same luggage. One I got from TJMaxx. Now she has an away luggage. We want to continue being luggage twins! I like the color blush. :)
You never said anything about the inside and how it's organized. And you never mentionethe relative weight of the bag. I've been an Eagle Creek user for years, but ready for a change.
Sebastian...awesome review, didnt know anything about the "Away" suitcase brand. The way you explained was simple and has the details laid out pretty neatly w.r.t pros and cons👍👍✌✌
It was a wonderful review and gave me a lot of information about luggage, I have been traveling a lot recently, and definitely going to try this one. I am not sure if you still giveaway the mini pack, if you do a color of pink one will be much appreciated, thanks.
Thanks for the info. Good info regarding the amount of travel you do with the bag. One thing I wish you would have done is open the bag & show the inside. I love the pink carry case too.
Appreciate the video! Would love to see a video on flying in private jets, how to do it, costs, ways to negotiate prices or knock them down, flight time etc. Also, the mini luggage would be super useful to carry electronics (my N3DS LOL) around safely! Brick would be lovely :D
Appreciate your videos, I’ve learned a lot and started on my path to free travels too! My wife likes these mini-luggage hand bags. She would look great w the blush colorway!
Thanks for a very helpful review. I just bought 3 Aways last month and still trying to figure out which size for which trip! (and.. I like the pink mini also!)
Great review - never heard of them until I saw this. If I won, I’d want a cranberry, navy, or slate colored one. What size is the one you reviewed in the video?
Jeremy James won the giveaway: ruclips.net/video/EswJ1wTeJHE/видео.html
I don’t understand how this company took off
Your affiliate link doesn't provide $20 off 😕
Seriously, wtf are you doing with your luggage to break a Samsonite every month? I had mine for many trips and they are just fine
Wow! Was this the regular or bigger carry on size?
I really appreciate your review of this bag. Other's that I've seen have been glowing, nothing constructive to say about the bag. As always, great video, thanks for sharing. And I'd like pink, thanks. :-D
People seem very excited by a micro-luggage giveaway. Imagine if you gave away a full sized bag.
OMG, someone with a brain, I can't believe it. Great vid bro, and good advice for people that can't think critically. Impressed with your principals as well. Good job...

You discarded the only unique feature of this luggage; the battery pack. Why are you even using this overpriced luggage then?
Those more expensive hard shell ones look AWFUL after one flight. They’re only okay if you fly private only.
I appreciate your review. But when it comes to luggage, Rimowa is the way to go and I realized that from your constructive video. Luggage is supposed to last for more than just a few trips! Why have such cheap luggage if your flying in private jets?🥴😂 weird😆🤣
I've been useing Tumi bags for the last 15 years, but my carry on is a Kipling bag.
I'm excited! buying one tomorrow for my lover. hope he likes it.
Would like to have seen the inside of the bag and it's layout.
Video lacked focus. Lots in here, but not what I clicked on.
I'm interested in purchasing new luggage and your video provided great information. Hope to see new videos
isnt this the same suticase Kara from Kara and Nate uses? theyre travel vloggers
Penny Hey it is!
Good review. I probably won't grab this one.
Hey Sebbey Which Bag Has The Best Charging System?
I would like a black or blue mini away bag
Okay so it fits on a private jet... what about a peasant like me that only flies basic or economy lol...
Forget about it bro, those hard case luggages are slippery and slide off of everything. People who handle luggage for a living hate these and will go out of their way to throw them harder. Do your self a favor and get a soft material luggage with friction. 😉

Can’t get $20 off. Please advise...

Your video was very informative in helping me decide on a gift.. Thanks for the discount link. Blue in the mini if you still have the give away.
I love pink color!

Hey Sebby how much was that private flight? Im looking on XO Jet but seems pricey!
I love how honest this review is! I am just wondering what carry on do you use where you put your travel essentials? I think Nomad Lane is the best, I've been seeing a lot of people using it. Would appreciate if you also make an honest review of Nomad Lane Bento bag. :)
Great to know about the carry on bags at Castco with warranties! For gift: I would love the gray color! 😍
I really want this color. They need to bring it back
Oh wow, didn't realize they got rid of it. Green (dark green looking one) looks really nice in person too :)
@@AskSebby burgundy is my favorite color haha 😄
I travel every week and what annoys me about suitcases is rarely the strength of the hardcase, the polycarbonate or ABS rarely breaks, but the more practical things that break are the handle and wheels and zipper or interior nylon ripping. You really don't say much about those most practical QUALITY concerns. Other than that, great review mainly because you do say some real cons. Briggs is the good/safe alternative. I'm not really a fan of their design though.
Thule makes the best luggage, at a very similar price point $200-$350 price range, super durable and it has a LIFETIME WARRANTY, which I used when the zipper broke they sent me out a new bag the same week!
Good. Info; my suitcase just broke so in the market for a longer term investment
Navy
have not seen this bag wif you
I gave this one to my mom and swapped to a lime green one. The rationale is I wanted brighter luggage to minimize theft.
Didn't even see the inside or much of the outside of this bag or features. Misleading title
Perhaps you could do a video on less expensive options to Away's product line. :)
Where can I buy the magic eraser you mentioned sebby? Thanks
I liked you open and honest review of the bag. If you still have the giveaway going on I would like pink or asphalt color mini
Thanks for the review! I’m in the market for a carry-on and will check out Away.
P.s., Black please! :)
Green is my favorite color! I don't really need a new carry on bag at the moment, but I have been debating on whether or not I should get the medium checked bag. Pretty much all of the reviews on RUclips are for the carry on bags and their charging capabilities =\. Decisions, decisions.
Sebby is that the carry on or the bigger carry on?
A luggage "review" without opening the suitcase once......
My favorite color, honestly, is the *Minions Yellow.*
It sucks that it's only available in the carry-on size, as it'd look great in a set, but as you've said before, the most easily stolen bags are black. I'd like to see them try and say a bright yellow Minions-themed bag is theirs. :)
A tiny version of it would be cute to have for some extra stuff.
For a color that is available for all sizes, the _Gray Malin - Alpine_ is lovely.
I have a question..In India many airlines do not allow us to carry powerbanks(portable battery for electronic gadgets) with us because there have been a high no. of battery blast cases on flights..This suitcase has inbuilt battery..Will it allowed here
The battery is removable.
Awesome video and thank you Sebby for having this Away carry-on luggage giveaway. I would like Red.
Blush looks sooo dope, would be so happy to win this, I destroyed(not intentionally) my last one :((((((
I'm probably to late for the giveaway, but if not...I would like the Black one and I really do like your video..I will subscribe and really trying to decide on trying this bag out. I would definitely use the small one when I travel. Blue would be great if they make it in that color!
Any small freebies left? I would like it in blue
I do like the mentality of going for longevity. I'd love to see more videos concerning those kinds of decisions and aking things worth their value in the long run. Black if possible for the giveaway. Thank you!
Not too comfortable with a bunch of phone chargers in the luggage bay but that's just me.
Thanks for the review. Ive been debating whether to buy one of these or not. My family and I have always used Rimowa. This seems like a good cheaper alternative. Black Mini bag pls.
Hopping Away does a Black Friday sale. I would like to get a black one.
The dark blue one is perfect😍🙏🏼
Pool is a great color! It would definitely stand out among all the other things I'd put in my luggage, so it'll be easy to find!
Nice video. I am thinking of purchasing one of these bags in the future. I’m glad it’s worked for you.
I love the small pink one!!!
I'd like the color BLUSH. I can't delete my other comment for some reason

If you don't have a TSA approved lock, which you lock the TSA just break the lock to gain access. Ask me how I know...
Did you get the bag back just without the lock? Or did they return the broken lock?
A review that doesn't even show the suitcase........
You never said anything about the inside and how it's organized. And you never mentionethe relative weight of the bag. I've been an Eagle Creek user for years, but ready for a change.
all talk ...no show luggage... thumbs down for you..
Black would be nice! These Away products seem pretty cool :)
I absolutely love the silver color! Thank you!
Thanks for positing. Watched this video as I was looking for luggage at Costco. The pink mini luggage bag is so me!!!
Appreciate the video! Would love to see a video on flying in private jets, how to do it, costs, ways to negotiate prices or knock them down, flight time etc. Also, the mini luggage would be super useful to carry electronics (my N3DS LOL) around safely! Brick would be lovely :D
Same! Interested in more Jet Footage
Travel pro are really good too.. Most Flight crews use them.
Appreciate your videos, I’ve learned a lot and started on my path to free travels too! My wife likes these mini-luggage hand bags. She would look great w the blush colorway!
mmm wait. Why is no one talking about the private jet? Tell us more about that Sebby.
I actually still have a lot of footage I haven't put up. Probably on a separate channel but yeah :)
I think he makes sense. I'm going to try the away bag.
I like the CC videos but I understand the relevance of luggage reviews. Keep em coming seb
Thinking about getting this for my dad for Christmas. Thanks for the information!
