Our Love to Admire is seriously one of the most underrated records of the 2000s. Every single track is literally flawless.
It is, one of my all time favorite albums
When it came out it there were a lot of people/fans who didn't like it,which shocked me.I loved it and thought it was great progression to a more mature sound.Sounds even better as I get older.
Don't even know why people talk trash about it. Beautiful album.
Yeah, overall Interpol are really underrated. Not quite as famous as they deserve to be. In my opinion, they are the best band of the 2000's

I grew up listening to Joy Division, Blur, New Order, Nirvana, The Pumpkins, Cranes, The Cure, The Smiths, REM and The Stone Roses and I can't believe how good Interpol are and you can see the influence of the groups I mentioned in everything they do. They are a sign that all is not lost as far as the music industry goes. Oh and I'm 40

First 3 albums are pure gold. A great trilogy. Listening them back to back is a wonderful mind ride, at least once a year i take the time to dedicate my soul to fully experience those 137 minutes of sheer sonic beauty.
That is EXACTLY what this beautiful song is about actually. The title put me off for a little while but when I listened to the lyrics I realised it was about a couple deciding to have a baby to stabilise their relationship, interestingly it was after realising that I found out I was pregnant. I don't argue with my husband much but I dunno I just really feel the words in this song, it's so poignant and touching. xx

@@carlosmoreno1391 I actually avoided listening to this song at first because I really was disappointed at the title but as I heard it I realised that no, this song couldn't be about that subject and also Paul just wouldn't be so obvious. I actually think it's just about wanting to dodge the crush of intimacy in that fucked up contrarian way you feel when everything's getting too tangled. But I think you have to be a nihilist to get that need.

Same! That’s my favourite part of the song, it’s such a flawless transition.
It makes me so happy to read comments from newer fans and people who have just discovered them. When I first got into them years back they were still pretty underground and it was all "oh they're like Joy Division" but now I think people are really starting appreciate their sound and that's so nice and reading what their music means to and does for people.

One of my very favorites songs by Interpol. Whenever I meet someone who hasn't heard of them before, this is the first song I show them.
Ive been waiting to get over this band, but seriously can't. Honestly have been playing guitar and listening to way more music since finding them, not to mention dressing better :p

Hell yeah man! They're predominantly a post-punk band, so within that genre I would definitely recommend Joy Division, Women, Viet Cong, Iceage, The Strokes (their album Is This It), The Smiths, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Cure, Sonic Youth, Violent Femmes, and Talking Heads.
I seriously think this is one of the best songs they've made, Surely goes in their Top 5

Los conoci de casualidad en el año 2016, llegaba del colegio y YT me recomienda "Obstacule 1", al principio no entendia mucho sobre esta banda y la composicion de las letras de sus canciones, estaba acostumbrado a otro tipo de musicas que hoy en dia me averguenzo de haber oido en su momento jaja, hasta que conoci esta maravillosa cancion, justo, en aquel entonces estaba deprimido porque la relacion con mi ex-novia no funciono, y es asi que esta cancion llega en el momento indicado, poco a poco que fui agarrando el gusto a esta banda hasta que conoci albumes como "El pintor" "Antics" "Our Love To Admire", y es asi que, quede fascinado con Interpol.
Que nostalgia, que sensacion tan extraña siento al escuchar esta cancion, siento que los años, el tiempo se comieron gran parte de mi vida, y yo no hice nada para evitarlo, ahora tengo 20 años, cerca de cumplir los 21 y ya voy por el 4to ciclo en la universidad, bueno ya, mucho texto, adios.

Es muy interesante las emociones que está canción causa en tantas personas de diferentes edades, pasados, presentes y hasta burlas…..Interpol siempre se ha caracterizado por indagar en esas preguntas oscuras que todos nos hacemos pero por diversas razones se quedan sólo en nuestros pensamientos….a nivel personal creo está canción es una de las más profundas pues tiene varios temas que pueden ser interpretados de mil maneras….la rutina en una relación….el matrimonio…el abandono persona; incluso el reencuentro con uno mismo….en fin…es arte….un gusto saber que está banda sigue dándonos de que hablar y espero con ansias el nuevo álbum ahora en julio de 2022

bigballzs No man absolutely not :( Saw them live 7 times while he was in the band. I'd spend half the concert watching him slither around haha. For someone who said how much he hated playing bass and touring he was amazing at both. The two little licks he plays on either side of the bridge in "The Specialist" are one of my favorite moments in music.
el pintor is not quite as good as the previous albums...:(
I'd rate them:
1. Turn on the Bright Lights - Of course.
2. Our Love to Admire - Most would pick Antics, but this sounded more evolved to me.
3. (tie) Antics - I really like only 2 songs (C'Mere and Slow Hands); some of the rest sound like 'Bright Lights' B-sides to me...kinda. Still a strong album, overall.
3. (tie) El Pintor - Again they evolve in a direction I like.
5. Interpol - Yeah, just didn't like the direction in this album. 'Barricade' saves it from being kind of a bad album, IMO.
So yeah, I really like the new album quite a bit, actually. Just the one album I couldn't get into. Took a left turn for me. The others take their sound and evolve it in a proper direction, IMO. But you just can't top '...Bright Lights.'
