Colin Firth talks to the Russian journalist Lena Key his upbringing and appreciation for Russian literature. 'Kingsman: the Golden circle' is out in cinemas now!
I have noticed this so many times he always turns an interview into a comfortable conversation.... Like he wants to know the interviewer's opinion... Making them feel important. Not everyone does that. ❤❤
WOW! Am so thankful to the Russian interviewer Lena Key - great questions and great answers... if she had not asked, we would have never known he devoured all of Dostoievski's creations and many other authors! He is probably the most cultured man in his profession and in many other professions... And what an amazing reply, associating Russians with literature, beautiful... No doubt he also read many other books from universal literature, but no one asked, except in those radio interviews (Desert Island etc) Btw, he blushes in the end, when he hears he is very much loved in Russsia, and looks surprised, how sweet...
Thing is, posh is a social construct. No one is born better than anyone else, people get better than others in some ways by development, but never by birth.
Intense questions, but also very apt given the stereo typing through the more accepted narrative of western history books. Good on her and good answers too.
I found tis interview quite interesting really. I've only ever seen the interview and the space of it being drawn to Colin, since he brings so much presence anywhere. But seeing space captivated by the interviewer was new. And it made a rather intriguing interview too, where they're both having a discusstion/conversation, although Colin, unexpectedly, did a little bit like he was answering to her.
He said he tries to be reasonably polite... if only the world at large had this kind of gentility and social acumen. We all have our moments of good days and bad but wouldn't it be lovely to enjoy social discourse with more people like Colin? He's a true gem.
As a young man in early 20s, I find Lena very attractive and charming with her accent and suit. I wish she was my wife even if she had been married to someone else.
Hi, Sonya, Lena covers for me when I'm busy doing other work. And she is absolutely wonderful, indeed! :) You can look up these: ruclips.net/video/5sfrwEkZ4dI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/RykL6hh2yI0/видео.html ruclips.net/video/KW1YJSI4TBA/видео.html ruclips.net/video/Sj6yi-7-FDY/видео.html
yep! thanks for not fighting Russians - our life here, in Russia, is already full of absurd, agression, injustice and numerous other things (mostly the bad ones), so it would really tiring and overwhelming to watch smth else about us in such a great movie - as well as read all that crap that our media would produce afterwards. Amazing interview. And the journalist is very professional - which is a really nice surprise for a change (e.g. RT's "journalists"). Colin is aaaaawesome)
Haha ha ha.... well I've never met a homeless man, or bumped into someone on a council block with Colin's accent...... unless they was lost. Because working class People who aren't posh don't speak like fucking butlers.
Even when interviewing she seems aggressive. Are all Russian taught to be so defensive about everything? I feel bad for Colin having to dodge her questions.
I actually don't care that I'm 18 and he's in his mid 50s,
I want to marry him.
There is something about older man.
I'm 20
Same 😂🤣🤭
@@srikhabucktowar5172 what is wrong with you?
Same girl, same
I feel you...

One of his interviews I enjoyed the most, not all typical kind of questions, nice job!
damn colin firth is such a daddy
he couldn't have said "I'm not posh" in a posher way
So true❤🧡💛💚💙
His voice is soothing, and I like it :>
He's not posh, hes classy and a gentleman. Anyone can be posh, it takes a gentleman to be classy
Thing is, posh is a social construct. No one is born better than anyone else, people get better than others in some ways by development, but never by birth.
I was state educated so I can't be posh!
Stellar argument there, Colin.
"Nonsense. Being a gentleman has nothing to do with the circumstances of one's birth. Being a gentleman is something one learns."
Well, it’s very rare
The way he says: "It's probably all rather bogus", ironically sounds really posh!
I didn't like the interview at first but I think she did a good job asking Collin about his past
So many years and I still in love with him. What wonderful person.
Intense questions, but also very apt given the stereo typing through the more accepted narrative of western history books. Good on her and good answers too.
This was one of the more spontaneous interviews I’ve listened to with CF! Good moderator! Equal volleys 🤗
I think it would be hilarious if the Russian cover for their spy organization were just hitmen
Stewart Fletcher Ok, I want to watch this movie now. Make it happen, Matthew!
Vodka distillers
My first thought was bears. Their cover is bears. That's it.
“You only see me on my best behavior”
👀
"you only see my best behavior"
So...Colin...I wanna see your bad behavior.
ngân lê He talked a lot of porny jokes when he is younger
Even with Ellen in 2012
That is talking. I mean bad action.

Why not a bookshop as a cover the Russian organisation specialising in selling Russian literature.
Or sticking with the literary theme, a publishing house?
Melissa Knight Great idea.

He’s not posh he dose has a real British accent that I love it’s so sexy
You can go ahead and say it Colin: Vodka destillery/destillers
As a young man in early 20s, I find Lena very attractive and charming with her accent and suit. I wish she was my wife even if she had been married to someone else.

Como pode se gostar tanto de alguém, sem ver pessoalmente ?❤
Колин Ферт привлекает умом и внешним впечатляющим видом
Maybe he is considered posh due to his accent... Nice accent in fact... I'm not sure if this his native accent or got it with the time...
ohmygod i was like "say dostoyevsky say dostoyevsky say dostoyevsky" and he said dostoyevsky and then my ovaries exploded
Gathered by the questions she asks...I believe she works for the KGB! Now I’m just about to check my surroundings for snipers...
He have some british accent.. i like it :3
The Russians would be stereotypically called hacksman

Not posh!......... who the fuck are you kidding Colin? Lol
tbf there is a difference between having a posh accent and being posh
Dude walk into London and walk into someone on the phone and you’ll find out what posh is
Haha ha ha.... well I've never met a homeless man, or bumped into someone on a council block with Colin's accent...... unless they was lost. Because working class People who aren't posh don't speak like fucking butlers.
Its the lads who can't afford to live in London or a phone, that I'd avoid if I was you they got a lot more to be pissed off about...... Dude?
Why are you getting so triggered about it 😂
That man is certainly not posh! That would be a massive missinterpretation in my opinion!
Mr Firth, It was because we had the Prohibition that everyone was making booze in secret stills.
Even when interviewing she seems aggressive. Are all Russian taught to be so defensive about everything?
I feel bad for Colin having to dodge her questions.
Yvonne Nunez what particularly was so assertive or aggressive in her questions? I thought she soda good job and asked interesting questions!
Did a good job *
