Beautiful car young man. I miss my S2 XJ6. Had quite a few Jaguars. Looking down over the bonnet of an XJ6 as you drive is a thing of great pleasure. I had a six inch leaper on mine. On rainy days, steam would gently rise off the bonnet at junctions, such a great car.
What fantastic cars they are always loved them ,i worked at the FERRARI AND LANCIA Importers in South Africa for 25years my MD always said to me when we talked cars ," David nothing rides like a Jaguar nothing." Really was my reply to get him to say more.
Oh how I love the series one XJ/Sovereign. My late Dad had one in the late 70's to mid 80's and I can recognise every sound on this video.....brings back 'smell' memories too. The video doesn't capture the acceleration very well but it was pretty spritely back in the day, if you could afford to keep filling up both tanks.
You made me chuckle ! The brush does no harm at all....bang ! crash ! bump! as it makes it's way under the bumper , grille, exhaust ! I can't criticise , you painted it , it's down to you if you damage it. And yes , probably the best driving car ever. I had a SWB series 1 and l drove many cars including a Silver Wraith (LWB Shadow) the Jaguar was better in every way except perhaps for some interior fittings . I fitted a vynal on mine and bought the chrome finishers that the Daimler Van Dan Plas had as standard. They gave an elegant finish to the car. Probably rare as hens teeth. Thanks for showing the car.
When i was born (1971) dad had to change the family as the 911 could not fit the travel cot in it, so he went to a local pestige car garage said what you got tgats fast a family friendly out came a carriage brown xj6 4.2. He kept that car a long time about 6 years. Main mum did not like driving it so she had her smaller cars.
Very fine car and nice video. I have one XJ 1 in british racing green, left hand drive, from July 1973. But one point ‐ it is very bad to wash these cars with water and shampoo. That kind of washing will let the rust grow extremly in every invisible inside part of the car and it is impossible to dry the inside body of the car, where the water stays for days and weeks. Oldtimer ( In Germany cars over 30 years called so officialy ) sould be cleaned only with a dry cloth for remove the dust. Then the car can be waxed with car wax. This is the only right way to clean an Oldtimer, especialy one of the age of half a century. Kind regards from germany.
Hello there. Glad you like my channel. No I wont be making and changes to the Daimler buddy. I personally like to keep them look standard. I do want to strip front calipers soon as 1 if the is sticking slightly. May well be my next vid. Thanks for watching.
Great looking Jag Would have been better if you, most kindly, could have introduced the car & told us model, year, options etc etc No offence intended, a beautiful motor 👍

Lovely video, I once had the opportunity to purchase a series 1 XJ6 2.8 litre manual for £2500. I didn’t purchase, one of my worst decisions ever😢😢😢
Beautiful car interesting video from Vancouver Island ca

Apologies, you did tell us model & year
Wish i had one
how does the drive and handling of the s1 compare to a s3 xj6?
if possible release more videos with Jaguar, repair, maintenance. Do you plan to put on it spoke wheels like MG?

This other video a guy has a 73 model with 3 carbs .
They would have been a carb set off a E type. Common mid to get a bit more power. But no XJ6 came standard with triple carbs.
