Matt, congratulations to your wife on the 11-minute PB. And kudos to you for supporting her. Fun video to watch, especially you guys celebrating in the finish chute.
@@tworunningbrooms thank you 😄😄 and yes very happy, one to remember ! Such a strong race from her, I could learn something from her training and race execution 🤔🤔🤔
I did run. Having had a stomach bug the 2 day before though - it all went wrong at the half way point and I struggled home in 2:30. Not the day I wanted but was to be expected
@@freddyruns shame to get that stomach bug but at least you got through and considering that 2hr30 is good. Assumed you had the camera out, I'll look forward to the video 😃
Well done to you and your wife. No better feeling than getting a PB especially at the GNR, congested and hilly not the easiest of routes. But the best race indeed 👏👏
@@RunThePlanet yes, I’ve ran it for the last 10 years in a row. Started running when I turned 40. First race as a 50 year old 1hr 50 this year about 4 mins slower than my PB but enjoyed it just as much. Better running weather this year. Thanks for the reply
You've got to love the GNR it is so friendly and the support is awesome. Yes the course is hilly but those crowds near South Shields can help push through the discomfort. Well done to both of you.
@@RunThePlanet Indeed, convinced my brother to run it too. He hasn't run that far for over 15 years so it could be fun. I'm hoping for a good time as I've never run such a flat course.
Great effort Matt. Congratulations to your wife on an amazing PB. If you fancy watching me run for a change I’m featured on this video and do a post race interview too! ruclips.net/video/43A7UnXsaIY/видео.htmlsi=kP7In1pRqwdT5MSx
@@NewmskiRunnerCarerDJProducer fantastic, thanks for taking a look 😃 your also at the end too on the home stretch. Saw you on RUclips been interviewed the BBC on the day too 😀😀 well done. Maybe see you there next year ?
@@RunThePlanet Hi, sorry for the late reply. Yes, I will be there next year. Already booked my hotel!! Thank you! Yes, the interview was unexpected! But good too to show why I do the runs for Alzheimer's Society.
Great run from your wife. This video is very reminiscent of the ‘Mystery Guest’ round from ‘A Question of Sport’.
Thanks for your kind comments tamworthslim 😂 our mystery runner did great 😃 Did you run or were you there this time, hope you got on well ?

Thanks BillyBobJoeSnr 😃 yeah agree it's a cracking race and well supported. Sounds like you might have been there, did you run too ?
@@RunThePlanet Yeah, I ran it again. Oddly this year was fast partly due to the rain. I'm out again next week at Malton then Manchester.
