Absolutely beautiful. Of course, at that age, every concert is a gift...you never know when a boy's voice might change. Then he has to learn a whole new repertoire!
The video is five years ago. Now he is 18 yo and he's a good baritone.
Superb. And his trills were flawless.
This is absolutely extraordinary. How does he do it? I am watching video after video of him having discovered him right after his voice broke!!! Not only does he sing like an angel, but he has such an intelligent demeanor -- neither too humble nor too arrogant, not too self-conscious.
John D Johnston here again, I have only resently discovered Akcel Rykvin. What an amazing voice from one so young. I first heard his rendition of Laudate Dominum about three months ago, since then, I have been exploring his career. I can only say that I will listen to anything he sings. Since I have RUclips, I have subscribed and receive all notifications of Akcels performances as I receive notifications of all my many favorite performers.

Par et grâce à Aksel j'ai découvert la musique Baroque que je ne connaissais pas du tout ! Et cela me convient assez bien ! Bien entendu ce qui me charme le plus c'est la merveilleuse voix de Soprano d'Axel . Mais j'aime aussi sa voix de Barriton.

Behind this excellent singer is, of course, an equally excellent teacher. I shall have a long wait before I hear a performance of ' Let the Bright Seraphim ' to equal this one.
I am continually impressed and amazed at the incredible talent and remarkable control young Aksel has of his voice. A talent found nowhere else! Norway should be so proud of this natural national treasure. A gifted ness like his is truly rare! And the orchestral accompanying his signing, equally brilliant!

Kirsten Flagstad was one of the treasures of the 30's and 40's, a Wagnerian soprano of enormous talent whom I had the pleasure of listening to when I was a child. I've never forgotten and never heard a soprano who was close to her in all the 70 years of my life.
Hendrik de Jong I totally agree with you. And his body language is exquisite; the language of very deep musicianship and musical intelligence. Let’s hope he always enjoys these gifts and does not allow himself to be pushed beyond endurance.

As a marvelous baritone now, I wonder if Aksel misses singing such flashy coloratura arias? I would!
A baritone can theoretically learn to sing in counter tenor range but whether he wants to or whether it would be the right path, who knows? I suspect he is enjoying his new voice. I have listened to several of his baritone tapes and the voice is really nice and growing in strength every month.

Why are you searching for boys? Don't hurt yourself. Such gifts are one-in- hundreds of millions. There are countertenors and women who can sing these parts.

What a great singer, he has certainly developed his vocal capacity and has been able to employ some tremolo like trills, considering his age. His breath control melismas are well secured
