Absolutely love Tait. He is truly the sauce and spice of the party!!! I grew up with this music. Parents didn't allow me to listen to "Ice ice baby" but it was okay to listen to "God is doing a New Thing" Love it. Thank you for sharing the love of God to the world! 💞
So awesome, Just can't believe that everyone can't get along as much as these Amazing guys showing Our Jesus!! ✝️😇❤️ Kevin Max Voice is Amazing when he sings with "Audio Adrenaline"! Toby Michael & Kevin's voice are Holy for Jesus!! 😇✝️❤️🙏 Father God keep Blessing Them & Their Bands & (their family & friends)....so they can stay jamming For YOU!! ✝️❤️🎤🎹🥁🎶🎸
I was a kid when these guys came out, I’m still listening to to them here at the end of 2023. These guys all though they have split up they haveGone far and gone on to do amazing things for God. They were a big part of my childhood and they will forever be a part of my music collection. They helped me get through a ruff time in my life and I thank God for ya’ll for standing up against the segregation, against all odds, and teaching us to love others no mater what they look like or where they come from.
I actually saw the Arsenio Hall episode where DC Talk played the in-house go to commercial break and back from commercial music interludes for the show. I found it awesome that they used the intro from that taping to precede their cover of "Lean on Me" for their album "Free at Last."
lorrrdddd have mercy! I did too! I had a BIG crush on Kevin and I also thought Michael was cute. Still not sure why I overlooked Toby and his goofy self lol
@@THEDOORIZCLOSED, I was the same! I had a major crush on Kevin and wanted to marry him! I actually got a chance to flirt (innocently) with him once. 🥰 He probably thought that was adorbs coming from someone 8 1/2 years younger than him. Lol. I also thought Michael was cute! 😍 I thought Toby was good looking, but wasn't as into him (looks-wise), for some reason.
It was a product of its time.... a time when we didn't take ourselves so seriously and people weren't so easily offended. Now, I could see them being canceled over that word, over mentioning "ghetto", and supposed "cultural appropriation". These guys were sharing the Gospel and having fun doing it....making such music accessible to a whole new generation.
Yes it has. It was meant to be humorous, silly and ABOVE racism stereotypes. ... Its society that isn't aging well 💯☝THIS was progress. People today have been REgressing back into segregation and fear.
As someone who grew up in this time period and in a racist free environment, DC Talk actually reinforced unity and anti-racism. When I heard this clip (which is on the Free At Last CD), I'd sing right along with this clip, laughing or smiling at the silliness and not once feeling racist vibes or uncomfortable.
apparently it means "Decent Christian" but back in the day it meant "D.C" as in the capital cuz thats where they're from or where they met or something like that.
Toby was interviewed about this on Way Nation. He said he sees it as a journey, and a progression that got him where he is. He said Tate loves it all, and Kevin doesn't want to see it. Lol.
You guys were so damn arrogant back then. I understand you were young, but you did this band for Christ so that should have given you more than common sense over your stupid male ego!
@@GoldNava ya my grandma shes 90s started really saying it because back then it was just name for black people it was both none and discriminatory depending ding on how you said it really
*honks, not hunks. "honkie" was a semi-racial term for white males, don't think it's used much anymore. dc Talk had a history of just owning and embracing phrases that were supposed to be negative/condescending including "Jesus Freak" and "Colored People" and basically just saying "Sure, fine, call me whatever you want, I don't care. We'll happily take it to remove the force behind your words."

Pray for Toby Mac he's like the last "Christian Artist" I grew up with who hasn't had a "thing" happen to them. He's always been a real one 😎😎💯💯
A “thing”?
They made History.

Legends who paved the way!!!
Brazilian radio stations began playing DC Talk and it was wonderful in 90's.
I remember this
Maybe if we call the booking agent at the end of the video we can get them back together.
Lmbo!🤣🤣🤣
Their music was actually really good and the lyrics flow perfectly 💯💯💯
Melhor banda pop gospel, deixou legado espero que volte desse longo hiato
nothing but respect for MY first boyband 🙏🏾😤
God started doing a new thing...never say He is old!!!
God never changed, nor will He ever change... there's nothing new under the sun.

Yeah I had never seen the Arsenio Hall clip, but the second I heard it, I was like hey, I know that!

The bite from Fresh Prince was dope. wow If I could only go back in time and relive the 90's with the knowledge I have now.

WOW Toby looks so much younger.
Toby has had to deal with a lot of life that will age anyone physically especially bury his first child. His testimony after that was inspirational!

@@THEDOORIZCLOSED ohhhh Thanks for the Info. 😇
Apparently it means 'Dick Cunts'.
Direct Christian Talk
Distinctive Christian Talk.
and we are still fighting segregation..
This reminds me of Jojo Siwa...lol
DONT YOU DARE
😂😂
Bi-racial...are you even allowed to say that now? What happened to this beautiful mood?
lol
Holy cow is this embarrassing.
Erik Larson they are just babies 😲💖
Kevin Max would probably agree with you.
Not at the time which is what counts lol

Nothing says biracial harmony like referring to a band member as a racial slur … what a time to be alive.

I cannot believe what they just said!!! Two hunks and a n...... Whaaat 😲😲😲😲
I was waiting for someone to comment this
Two hunks and a negro. Negro is not a discriminatory term.
They said it in good spirit but yea they prolly think that's weird now.
