Sir pentious was the only one, aside from Vaggie, that took Charlie's exercises and program seriously; so we shouldn't have been too surprised he was the first to be redeemed
Right. I was annoyed at how Charlie presented angel to the court when clearly sir pentious was further along, being more open with his feelings & taking the program seriously
Sir Pentious went from being a one-off pilot-only villain of the week to being part of the main cast and the first Sinner to be redeemed. Our snake boy deserves all the respect!
Maybe in life, Sir Pentious was a general who died after abandoning his comrades in war. That's why he was sent to hell, as a cowardly snake. The way he constantly treats his EggBois as expendable and doesn't seem to really care when they're UNTIL he begins rehabilitation. His true redemption came when, instead of standing above the battlefield in a relatively safe space and commanding everyone else to fight, he changed his ways and realized he didn't want his friends to die. So, he put himself on the front lines with no regard to his own life, ultimately redeeming himself of his original sin.
He's definitely a British officer of some kind of that's the case. what with the British Victorian theme he has going on. Probably bought his officer position rather than earned it which would explain his less than stellar performance on the battlefield until the last episode.
It's also possible Sir Pentious ascended because he still owns his soul. It's possible there are other sinners like Angel that should've ascended by now but can't because their soul is bound to someone else and unable to transition.
that would explain the problem handily as most sinners either have to sell themselves for safety and/or power to bigger fish or get one year at most to build up enough power and influence to not be on the streets during the Extermination
That actually makes sense which would answer the question as to how Angel Dust isn’t in heaven probably because his soul is owned by Valentino. Also Valentino did say in episode 2 that he “employs every down on their luck loser this side of hell” which makes me think those deals play a big part as to why not many people have gotten into heaven probably because the overlords of Hell have been chaining them down from ever having a chance (which also would tie in the V’s in as well since they probably have large amounts of souls they own).
@@gorman1852 I think another reason why Angel isn't in Heaven is because once a Sinner has achieved redemption in Hell, they then need to die again before they can be reborn as a Winner, like Sir Pentious when Adam blasted him.
@@ecthox-1mork909 Another explanation could be, that besides his soul being owned, Angel isn't fully over his personal issues and shortcomings yet, which I think his deal with Val ultimately also symbolizes and is set up to be his major conflict. He improved alot over season 1 and became somebody who is capable of taking responsibility, standing up for others and show his true self, but I think he also could show us of redemption isn't something archieved always in a short matter of time. Sir Pentious was the perfect candidate to be redeemed first, because he showed to be highly receptive towards working on redemption the moment somebody reached out to him and offered him the chance. Considering his former behavior and ultimate attitude of the show, I would also assume that his sin was highly related to cowardice and sacrificing others for his own sake, as he initially treated his Eggs as expendable, until he opened up to redemption and was told to get rid of them. Like, the only instances of debauchery we see him engage in, getting wasted and fucking around, are the consequences of his cowardice to tell Cherri how he feels and in the final battle, he did gather the bravery to both confess to her, kiss her and sacrificed his own life for others.
Me and my sister were just talking about this. Our theory is that Sir Pencious went against the very sin that manivested him. He was prideful and kinda cowardly. Mostly in it for him but at the last moment displayed Bravery, Humility and Selflessness. He knew he was going to die but he was willing to risk it all for his friends. So we think for a sinner to redeem themselves they have to willingly go against their vice and perform a completely selfless act of their own will. We think the reason Angel Dust did not go is because Angel is still addicted to his vices so he has not really gone against them though has become selfless standing up for Niffy against Val.
also, Val still has angel soul in his pocket, so even if he continues being selfless and over come his addiction, As long val has his soul heaven can't calm it
That is actually a really logical theory! And it would open up the opportunity for a bunch of character development and struggle for the main cast, so a good choice from a story telling perspective. Did you two happen to think of any other theories for the show? I would love to hear more
@@midnightsky3730 The only other theory we had was that Adam and Lilith came up with the extermination together with Lilith acting as if she was inspiring the demons into an uprising then Adam would come in to kill them to satisfy some issues or needs he had. While Lilith was allowed into Heaven, Sera herself being tricked into it. The idea being this is that Lilith might represent toxic femininity as Adam resprents Toxic masculinity. Lilith likely convinced Lucifer to allow it using his depression then staged a walk out to enjoy paradise.
Or this "Hell" is simply Limbo and only higher authority beings know this. This could explain why Adam "died" with a smile. He may have been the Big G's (GOD) black ops agent who truly tests the "Hell" residents. After all, there is a very common saying that "One's true character shows when their back is against the wall". Sir Pentious's ascension may have shown that the "Extermination" might be a test where your actions during the "crisis" determine if "Sinners" can be redeemed. The Sinners usually run, hide, or push others into the line of fire when the "Extermination" occurs making them "fail" in essence due to selfishness and the bystander effect. Sir Pentious may have "passed" because he committed the act of "self-sacrifice in the face of overwhelming odds". The quote "Extermination is entertainment!" by Adam in Episode 1 could imply that Adam and his Exorcists are the test of character and could be a reason why he dismissed Charlie: Adam's "Extermination" is already giving the "Sinners" a chance at Heaven already.
Sir Pentious didn’t sacrifice himself for the sake of redemption. He did it because he loved his friends (and Cherri), and I think that helps explain the heart motif in his angel form.
I actually think the exact opposite scenario would be funny, and likely: that Sir Pentious doesn't trust anyone in heaven and thinks they're all out to get him, meanwhile all the angels and winners are ATTEMPTING to make this strange newcomer feel welcome 😂 it would match up with how Sir Pentious reacted to the Hazbin ensemble being like...base level decent to him
Yes! Winners had to be good at heart in order to be there, as all the mid to rotten people went to Hell. Adam may have been obnoxious on a superficial level, but only really cruel to sinners in Hell. Emily and Peter seemed fine, and even Sera at least showed base level courtesy to Charlie.
I really hope Adam comes back as a Sinner. That would shake up his entire worldview and would lead to interesting dynamics with Lute in particular since they both believed sinners to be subhumans basically, yet they also seemingly genuinely cared about each other
Not to mention it would be VERY appropriate karma for all of Adam's crimes since he became an angel, and it would be a nice mirror image to Sir Pentious' ascension.
It would also help chalenge Charlie's views when it comes to redemption. Sure, Charlie is right trying to redeem sinners, however it's easy to talk about forgiving and redeeminging them when you dont know what actions they commited to end up in Hell especially when those actions did not affect you personally or someone you cared for. Like there are probably people in heaven that died due to direct or indirect actions of the main cast. I doubt they would look fondly at the hotel. With Adam however? Charlie and everyone alse in the hotel know very damn well why he is there. Not only that, he also caused them great emotional and physical harm AND killed a member of their family. So Charlie deciding to forgive him and actually help him out would be way more difficult than giving Sir Pentious a second chance after she learned that he was a spy.
6:00 ok, but consider the alternative: Pentious is hated by some purists, but also becomes incredibly popular with people curious about the "other side", especially ones with loved ones down there like Molly
Agreed. Can you imagine Pentious reaction to all the attention he gets from people who want to know about hell and becomes a little bit of a celebrity in heaven kind of like the overlords. Also I would love for him to meet molly and tell her how Angel doing
@@horrortheater3172 This is likely going to be a thing that happens. Pentious is gonna meet Molly, and Molly's gonna find out he's from Hell, and ask about her brother. Meanwhile Em and Sera are DEFINITELY gonna want to talk about what just happened with Charlie, which means not only is Charlie going to find out it worked and Pentious is up there, she is likely gonna meet Angel Pentious personally... and find out about Molly. Which is news she is gonna casually carry back to Angel, not knowing how huge news that'd be to him. Angel isn't taking redemption seriously because he thinks there's not much point in it and that it won't work. He may even be assuming Molly dropped down to Hell DECADES ago but got caught in an Extermination before they found each other again. Once he knows Molly's up there waiting, and somehow Pentious REALLY DID make the cut and get up there, he'll actually have a REASON to want to better himself actively and get to Heaven. His sis is waiting for him, and all he has to do is better himself enough to manage what Pentious managed. Meanwhile, the immediate central villains of the next season are hinted to be the Vees, meaning that, at long last, Valentino's ownership of Angel's soul is gonna be ADDRESSED.
@voidfullheart I am sure that this problem is shortly to be addressed in the next season, considering the Vees have been set up as Charlie's, and Hell at large's, major opposition in the next season. Because I think that Angel and Val are gonna be big-time parts of the upcoming story arc. Even so: the contract doesn't matter if Big G gets involved. If He says Angel goes up, Val's contract matters squat.
@@GuukanKitsune I don't think Sera will want to tell Charlie. In fact, I think she will urge Emily to not speak about it until they understand the how and why around Sir Pentious' redemption and what it could mean for both Heaven and Hell. She's going to be a bit more wary about the implications (such as a shift in population, public perception and reception, and so on). Which kind of leans into my theory about Lilith...that she also was killed in an extermination 7 years before, but she was protecting Charlie so her self-sacrifice sent her to Heaven, and she made a deal with Adam to keep it hush-hush.
Also, I suspect Emily won't be the only one welcoming Pentious. We saw the Angels arguing about the Extermination already. They may still be a minority, but I'm imagining there are some Angels who's view on the whole issue is that the people of Hell defended themselves, and Adam got what was coming to him.
They might end up sending someone to do an investigation into the whole matter, looking into all the details that lead up to it and interviewing everyone involved (i.e. Carmilla, Charlie, Vaggie, to name several) all just to get a better grasp on the entire picture before making any kind of judgment.
My big take away is how and why did Sir Pentious manifest in front of Sera and Emily, I assumed people that manifested in Heaven show up at the gates before getting let in. Someone or something thing plopped Sir Pentious there to prove a point to Sera and Emily.
Thats a good theory. He was sent in front of the two specifically to show its possible. Someone higher in hierarchy did this. Maybe Azrael? Michael? Or even Yhwh?
My personal theory is that because his soul was rejudged, his soul manifested in front of high ranking Angels to kind of help him integrate into Heaven's society since he's so used to fighting for his life all the time. I feel this would apply to other souls that get rejudged such as Sir Pentious as to keep the order of Heaven while also welcoming former sinners.
yeah, I like this for the theory that the series may end with Charlie talking to God who basically is at the beginninng of her same character arc (doesn't want to make his presence/desires know because it would be too mean, doesn't want to wield his power because he doesn't want to be seen as a tyrant, and has absolute faith in is terrible children that they'll eventually figure it out), I think it'd be cool if this lead to something really bad potentially nearly destroying all of existence and God basically is forced to act to prevent it (or possibly has to be convinced by Charlie to do so) and feels really bad about how he let things go wrong for so long. Possibly a reprise of "It Starts with Sorry" I think would be really fitting here.
@@autisticsonicfan This was effectively what I thought too. He's not the same as a sinner from earth due to having been in hell. He knows there is an afterlife, he knows that there are demons and angels. He doesn't need the intro at the pearly gates with new comers. He'd need something else given that he's a veteran of the afterlife.
I wanna throw in an idea. Specifically about vaggie and when her wings regrew. Her wing pattern is now different than when it was when she was an exorcist (and they all share the same pattern). I think that this could mean Vaggie is now a legit guardian angel for Charlie.
What if when a sinner dies by an angelic blade they get sent to actual hell? Being killed by an angelic blade is the metaphysical equivalent of “you have been judged to be unworthy of even purgatory.”
That'd be cool but having 2 different hells with separate rings would be a headache. Unless only pride and the pentagram city is part of Purgatory and the rest of hell's rings are actual hell
It's already been confirmed that Sinners who die in the extermination just sort of fuse with their surroundings. The essence of their souls, I mean. It's why so many of the buildings and architecture have eyes and stuff.
*About the thing with Adams lasers:* Well, they obviously do kill sinners since, he kills Sir Pentious with them. Also if they didn’t kill people why would he be using them? And to recount about him “not needing an army if they did kill”… Hell is very big and there is a lot of people there, Adam is narcissistic sure, but I doubt he’s dumb enough to try and take on the whole of Hell by himself
If they don’t kill sinners, I think he may be using them to torture sinners since the regeneration process is extremely painful. He may do it so he can kill them again and again
@@Techhunter_Talon yea, but cmon dud the laser is literally pure angelic magic (so it should have same properities or even greater than angelic steel) + why tf Adam would use his lasers if not to exterminate sinners?
Angelic weapons are just weapons infused with Heaven's radiant energy, so Adam killing with his radiant powers seems pretty much the same, plus how could he kill so many? He had an army because he was one dude against billions, of course he needed an army
Don't forget that Adam is incredibly sadistic. The regeneration process for a sinner is incredibly painful and Adam would take a lot of pleasure in causing that level of pain. However, the Hazbin crew's reactions make this confusing, as it seems as if the Holy Light does in fact perma kill, but we see Pen remanifest in Heaven instead of Hell for being redeemed, when, if the Light works the same way as normal angelic weapons, he should have been completely erased. I suspect that this is just an accidental lore contradiction rather than anything intentional.
to go back on what you said on Carmilla, while she does seem like a nice and doting mother from Vaggie's (and our) perspective, we always have to keep in mind that she is the richest and most famous arms dealer in hell, so she both is indirectly violent, and greedy, she is still a sinner
My best guess is that Adam believed Angels could only be harmed by other Angels of higher rank. We've already been told that's true of Lucifer, and it would make sense for him to believe Lute could hurt Vaggie, but still be surprised when sinners could hurt Angels.
Hell possibly being a purgatory is interesting.❤ Some theories I love about hazbin hotel season 2 when it comes out is: 1. Adam comes back as a sinner 2. The Vees might concur the the entire pride ring 3. Pentious is able to go down to hell to see everyone
Lilith being sent by Lute uses the V's to try t o undermine the hotel in a sort of "proxy war" as Heaven now considers the direct assault too risky....
Alastor has been the biggest mystery of this show since it began. I'm actually worried that we've made so many guesses and speculations about him that, whenever the truth gets revealed, we might not be satisfied with the answer they give us 🤔
people just need to manage their expectations. the people making wild guesses about alastor secretly being good and caring about the hotel crew are most likely going to be disappointed.
@@dietotaku wait… people think alaster is good and cares about the hotel 😅?? He had been very clear that he was just there for entertainment in the beginning (although I think he does get some sadistic pleasure from it, I don’t believe that is the true reason). It seems like he is really there to try and break free from whatever contract he made (presuming it was with Lilith). Alaster is my fav character, but he is in no way a good person. He was a serial killer/cannibal in real life. He probably won’t be redeemed, I don’t think he’s interested in it. Which I hope won’t disappoint people. Tbh, the very first episode dissapointed me because of adams personality, I would have rather had him just be a genuinely good with a sense of massive Justice and hate for the sinners, but I was really happy with the outcome. It seems like most of heaven is actually made of decent people, just that some of the hierarchy might be corrupt.
Why would Adam cause mass destution every time he comes to Hell? "There is the Question of fun. And for those of us with divine Ordainment, Extermination is Entertainment." "An Eye for an Eye." Adam shot that beam to defend himself and to eradecate those, who were dangerous to him. He has fun to kill sinners in close range and his beams are only in use, when he is in danger or when he has not as much kills as his girls... Who sad, that he doesn't used the beams before?
@@plantcrone9662 I don't really think that hellborn are spared. It's in christian lore that children have sins of their parents in thier own blood. Vaggie has fallen because she wouldn't kill a child. I don't understand, how a 6-year-old can have sins worthy of hell.
This is literally what I've been saying. Alastor, looks, acts and behaves exactly like how you'd expect the Devil to behave and thus wants to usurp Lucifer to become Hell's new ruler. I mean anyone else find it weird Lucifer is the only Sin with almost none of his Ring's color on him while Alastor is covered from head to toe in Red?
Lucifer has a lot of red on him. At least as much as Asmodeus has his blue, though not as much as Beelzebub and Mammon have their colours. Lucifer just doesn't cover himself in red because he still takes pride in being an Angel.
@@FallenOne669 lucifer also still has his seraphim wings and angelic golden glow. i do think alastor seeks to conquer hell and replace lucifer, and i'm betting that both the deal he made with charlie and whatever deal he made to bind himself to whoever else (lilith?) will be revealed to be part of his plan to achieve that goal.
Actually wait yeah that’s a good point the only red thing I see on Lucifer are his eyes when he’s pissed off and the apple but besides that he’s mostly white. If Alastor being covered in red slides to him usurping the throne, what does Lucifer bei be mostly gold and white mean? Will he get reaccepted into heaven or something?
Consider this. Red is what lines all his clothes and hat. White may be the outwardly facing color but red is the color on the inside. Symbolic as well. Angel on the outside, demon on the inside.
Lute: "YOU DONT DESERVE TO BE IN HEAVEN!" Sir Pentious: "Alright, off to go back to my friends, cya o/" Lute: "...huh?" i just imagined some kinda funny interaction like that lol
something i did noticed in the episode was that sir pentious was send into the office that sera and emily where in and not the gate and in his angelic design he looks more like a seraphim and seraphim's are considered a high rank of angels i don't know if it means anything but way be if sir pentious is a seraphim now perhaps he'll help emily determine who could go into heaven with charlie's hotel
1:11 We got confirmation of what happens to sinners who die from something other than an angelic weapon. In episode two, Velvette complains that Valentino tore up one of her best models, showing one of her leftover limbs. She then adds that she doesn't have time for her to pull herself together, thus confirming what VivziePop said. I only add this because changes have been made that contradict what she's said in the past.
@@jessepadilla2400 Given the scene that takes place when we finally meet him, I'm guessing she accidentally crossed his path while still ranting about Angel Dust moving to the Hotel.
i want Sir Pentious to find Molly, initially mistaking her for Angel, then become friends with her and sneaking a ton of backstory stuff about Angel and his family
Also, the whole thing with Sara having that bird face seems to imply that her species may in some form related to Paimon. like Sara and him literally could've dated prior to the War against Heaven. I'm here for the drama.
There was a priest that said once that Jesus said that purgatory does exist, but if people looked at it or stayed there they would think it is hell; so yeah this theory, is not that far gone...
Catholics, Eastern Orthodox and Orthodox Jews ( Jesus would have followed as a Jew) believe in Purgatory. Protestants however don’t have that belief. Various passages in the Bible , while not exactly using the term Purgatory, seem to reference it in wording … a place to redeem oneself after death.
@@koxbalon Not really, purgatory is similar to hell (unending pain sent straight to the soul to the point where you cannot percieve time properly) and hell is that same kind of pain but amplified to the point where it could possibly rend the soul apart (not including the demons and other unidentifyable beings that also rip souls apart)
I do believe that Adam has the ability of permanently killing sinners...I assume that angelic steel is just metal infused with angelic magic... we shouldn't forget that Adam is an egocentric prick that doesn't like going to hell...I'd assume that this was one of the rare occasions where he himself went down... He loves the extermination but he never stated that he himself normally participates in it...it could be that he just likes watching the extermination (a TV show while having popcorn and drinks)... similar to how capitol people in "tributes of panem" enjoy the death games) => the angels love killing demons and the panic they cause and Adam just loves to watch them run for their lives
And also it doesn't make sense if Adam has a weapon to kill sinners permenantly, but when he fights the origin of sin (lucifer) he'd use a weapon that doesn't kill sinners?? It just doesn't make sense.
Though I also don't believe Angelic weapons actually harm the soul (I think they break the link between your body and soul (well the image of your body) so it deals permanent damage but doesn't actively negate healing just physically destroys that part of the image of you, and when it kills you it completely separates your body and soul and your soul if still evil whilst your body was evil recognises hell to be identical to the nature of your previous vessel and so your evil essence(which I assume is analogous to soul) becomes a part of hell forming a new eye on the wall
I genuinely believe that angels do have the power to just end a demons life. Otherwise why would Charlie and the others would care so much and dedicate a memorial to Pentious or freaking out wondering if Alastor died or not.
Well I don't know anything about the world of hellava boss and hotel but this youtube lr did say angles are able to go to hell again and stay if they want
I hope be not the only one who finds it ironic that a snake caused the downfall of humanity and a snake ended up being its redemption? Once word reaches Hell about this, the hotel is gonna be swarming with sinners looking to check out of hell! Charlie's dream is now becoming a reality! Hell is NOT forever! Way to go, Sir Pentious!
But Charlie and Hell don't know yet that Sir Pentious made it to Heaven. Leaking that information will be a Season 2 power move. I guess that Sara will forbid it, but Emily will do it anyhow.
@@NathanielHellerstein Sera would be a fool for doing so. This way heaven could grow and expand and hell would gradually empty out itself (with only the hellborns residing). Surely there will be some other being that are not too happy about this...
@@amiiredhead2676yes but the point was hell was too full if more souls enter heaven it's possible that heaven will become over populated. Season 2 could deal with that and demons having to come to heaven to do an extermination as a sort of reverse or roles
@@neilstone4529 as far as I understand is that ultimately heaven decided hell was overpopulated. So they went in with the extermination. Sera explained to Charlie that she feared hell would overrun heaven with that sheer amount of sinner demons. So I guess that heaven or hell don't really have a limit in containing population.
If Adam does have the power to destroy sinners like his army, he likely doesn't use it for one reason. "Extermination is entertainment!" -Adam, Episode 1 He doesn't just wipe them all out because then it wouldn't be fun.
It is not enough to just make a noble sacrifice. Remember Adam's list: -Act Selfless -Don't steal -Stick it to the MAN Adam was obviously making the list up on the spot, but it still means there is more than just a noble sacrifice to make it to Heaven. Sir Pentious did go along with Charlie's redemption program.
I heard something about Pentious going to Heaven because his actions somewhat reminisce Bible’s John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
Yes Adams list that really makes me curious, he was the first man, so who did he stick it to? Not to mention Alastors line to him "You should know better than anyone what a soul can accomplish when they take charge of their own fate"
Makes me wonder about the Eldritch family that Lucifer hung around with in the Pilot. If there truly is some form of primordial evil something, it probably truly exists and maybe thats what Sera is worried about
your hole "purgatory" theory is actually very interesting, In dante's inferno it is mentioned the the first circle(despite hell going off of rings the circles do seem to exist potentially if I remember right) is known as limbo where people aren't really bad but aren't exactly good either
I feel Sir Pentious was the first because of divine intervention. IE, God made it happen. It may also explain how Vaggie regrew her wings when she lost them to an angelic blade despite angelic steel being able to leave permanent injury.
god himself or most likely Azrael the angel of death, as his role is transporting the souls of the deceased, he might have heard from Gabriel about the court meeting where Charlie their niece and Sera talked about sinners being redeemed. he probably dropped Sir Pentious off right in front of Emily and Sera on purpose as solid proof to Sera that sinners can be redeemed
@@mekiherring2088 vaggie is more or less a fallen angel, so she is not wanted back, but Sir pentious might be a whole nother can of snakes, since he is trully an angel now, and as it was mentioned in one of the episodes, angel has many, MANY rules (other than the ones adam made on the spot)
From what I heard, Purgatory in this show used to be a thriving world in between Heaven and Hell but something leeched all the life out of it and time flows a lot slower in there as well. Though I get the feeling that the real threat is related to the Tree because it's possible that it's the remains of an Eldritch Horror that God had to vanquish.
About Carmilla's part, other levels only have people that were born in hell, even if they died wouldn't manifest in heaven even if they were "pure" . Pentious might have been the first because before him, no sinner even cared/ thought it was possible or had the means to redeem themself. it's only thanks to Charlie who cared and had the power to create a system to redeems the sinner (honestly, it's more surprising that no one aside from Angel Dust tried to go there even if it's just for the rent-free part). I don't think we really know much about the reforming rules in hell, it's excruciatingly painful but it might take a long time before someone's return explaining the grief everyone felt.
You should do a video about lute wants revenge cause at the we of the final episode she really cared for Adam and Adam gave her a smile Adam might recarnate in hell
Here hoping we get to see Sir Pentious and Cherry Bomb reunite in Season 2. Perhaps they create a Limbo-like realm where beings from Heaven and Hell can interact for a brief time.
funny thought, sir pentious was added on after the crew liked him, it would be funny if angel dust was the one who was suppose to die, but some divine force changed the script in universe, and now we have an actual snake instead of someone with actual family in heaven and someone the court knows has improved himself through the show itself. my theory is that if heaven thinks that human souls can become corrupted, it would lead to a spanish inquisition of heaven lead by the other archangels. it's a weak connection to our ex exorcist cursing in spanish.
What I really want to see is Angel Sir Pentious getting shown around Heaven, then saying, "Ah yesss, very nice, now can I get back to Hell? I left my rival and love of my life back there, plusss my friends will be worried. Also, there are no death rays here, which makes me sssad."
I want to see Sir Pentious become Heaven's new ambassador to Hell; then he gets to enjoy his heavenly afterlife and still take care of his friends in Hell. The notion of Hell being somewhere you can in fact escape from was explored in the C.S. Lewis novel _The Great Divorce_ , in which the damned are free to leave Hell if they so choose by ridding themselves of their sins; this is depicted tangibly by a Sinner being accompanied by a lizard; the embodiment of his sin, when he arrives in Heaven; an angel offers to kill it for him, but he initially relents, until accepting the offer, whereupon the lizard dies and is reborn as a magnificent stallion and the two happily enter the hereafter.
I know a lot of angels and Winners would be angry that a sinner got into heaven but I can also see some Winners liking Sir Pentious perhaps seeing him as someone who climbed all the way from rock bottom to reach the top whereas the Winners merely started at the middle of the mountain
What if the REAL Hell is a dimension where Azathoth mentioned by Stolas in Hazbin Hotel comes from? It could be a completely chaotic realm where primordial Eldrich demons exist and the only way to keep it at bay is to maintain the balance between Heaven and Lucifer's Hell?
Honestly watching Sir Pentious adjust to life in Heaven and no one being his friend except Emily sounds like a fun arc. Maybe he'll seek out Molly to tell her how her brother is doing. Him choosing to move back to Hell is a fun twist. Rather than rule - better to be with friends in Hell than among strangers in heaven.
Maybe angelic weapons aren't needed to kill sinners, just angelic abilities or powers like Adam has.If this is the case then maybe when a sinner is killed my an angelic weapon, they usually haven't redeemed themselves so they just die,but out snake bois case he died redeeming himself. That would explain why nobody has been redeemed before as you will have to die after redeeming yourself.
2:15 I mean, adam is like alastor in that he wants entertainment. He wouldn't want to wipe everyone out himself because that means no more entertainment for him.
My theory for the end goal where the show is going is that in the end the hotel will become the gateway between heaven and hell, either by a gateway inside it, or the hotel itself becoming another plane between the two, literally becoming purgatory. Allowing families split between them to meet, even if just at the hotel etc. Character wise, Charlie being half angel half demon would be in charge obviously, Lucifer dealing with the logistics of hell, Emily i see either dealing with the ones in heaven or joining Charlie at the hotel with Sera doing the logistics from heaven. With certain characters like Angel choosing to go to heaven, Pentious going back to hell, and Cherri also taking part in a bit of self improvement staying in hell, these 3 showing the status quo, sinners going to heaven, returned sinners choosing to make hell better, angels going down in hell.
I think "Redemption" would work something like a quest, when a soul makes its way to hell it gets an option to redeem themself somehow. If they become a good person and redeem themselfs they get the reward of being in heaven. But i also think it works like 1.Redeem yourself 2.Die from something else than a angelic weapon 3.Reform yourself in Heaven instead of hell
I knew it! Sir Pentious will most likely faced discrimination from many of the Heaven's residents! I wouldn't be surprised if he is going to be forced to live in a separate enclave of Heaven designed just for the newly-created class that are the Redeemers and also forced him to wear an identifying piece of cloth to distinguish himself from the Winners! And the more and more Charlie's hotel becoming successful, more and more Redeemers will be forced to live in such circumstances.
2:14 there’s a flaw in your logic, think of it like this if a human had the ability to shoot beams from their hands like this and they were going up against abunch of sinners, some of which have crazy super powers as well then sooner or later they’re gonna get overwhelmed. Hence why he rose the exorcist army, to have sheer power in numbers to level the playing field.
I just hope the others in heaven won't bully him. Poor guy just made his found family only to lose it all and prove they can get into heaven but now he's in a strange new place
Been thinking about a few theories a lot rn. Lemme just run them down for y’all 1: Alastor isn’t just a deer in hell but a wendigo, we can see this in episode2 as he grows more demonic in “stayed gone”. He is also supposedly and cannibal in life and death. Wendigos (in myth) are created when humans eat their fellow human. Of course the version of the Wendigo seen in media is very westernized and the original myths depicted a different version of this monster. 2(this one’s more fun): everybody in hell has something they hate about them in their demonic form. Angels feet, husker being a cat, and alastor probably being a deer. my guess is that the one thing Nifty hates about herself is being so small, seeing as it would be easier for her to clean, smash bugs, and cause mayhem if she were her same height as when she was alive. Had to get that off chest, okey byeeee
Huh. I just realized a random quirk of the setting. If only heavenly weapons could permanently kill Sinners, why didn't they all just go to the cannibal colony, get eaten by them, and thus get 'respawned' after the extermination rather than risk being permanently outed by the Angels? If it takes presumably hours to days or even longer it would be super easy to wait out a single day for each years extermination. But then it might also weaken the Sinners each time and would probably be very painful. Ah well.
He was probably a cowardly officer who slithered through the battlefield and got his men killed which is why he went to hell. By going against his sin he was redeemed is my guess.
This theory makes no sense because of Helluva boss connections in the show like Mimzy's Mammon tattoo as well as the fact that sinners were going to Imp city to hire IMP. That would mean that so called Pride ring would not be the pride ring.
I personally think and a few others I’ve seen that Sir Pentious got so redeemed he became a Seraphim as he has no visible wings when he appears in heaven and his hood still has multiple eyes and when spread out resembles wings
I don't think you can become a seraphim. I think it's a class you have to be born in. That's angel lore. Humans are so humans in heaven. Angels were created by God and there aren't anymore made after he stopped.
Sir pentious probably got into heaven because of the way he acted though out the season, for example he was better at doing good things for Charlie and was excited when another activity was made by Charlie, he even did the little act without looking at a script where as angel dust struggled to play along with a script in his hands, so technically sir pentious did try his best to be redeemed even after failing Vox.
i need Pentious to befriend Molly in heaven and tell her all about Angel. i would love to see her start a protest along Emily to stop the exterminations and help the hotel
Almost no one seems to be noticing that Lute was using a unique golden sword that may not be made of angelic steel but something else. Also its fair Vaggie didnt know Angels could be perma harmed seeing as how her wings literally grew back and she didnt seemed too shocked. What if its the same with her eye? She is simply keeping the injuries from healing as a representation of repressed trauma, she gained her wings after learning to accept herself and her place to defend the hotel alongside her girlfriend, so maybe in another season she'll regain her eye after another emotional breakthrough. I'm not sure if id want that, having characters that represent others with eye issues is always welcomed, we always need more representation and not less and maybe having her heal her disability (if she cant see out that eye) through character development might send the wrong message.
Personally, I think Adam never actually understood that Angelic Steel was the only thing able to permanently kill a soul- he knew the exorcists exclusively used it, but he probably assumed they did so because they couldn't just fire #### off sized lazers like him, and that *anything* angelic would work.
In Dante’s purgatory it is said that each sin that doesn’t land you in hell can take up to over thousands of years per sin, The only way to cut the time down is to have people on earth pray for you. Even then it would be hundreds of years instead of thousands.
I've mostly been curious about the possible reason as to why Sir Pentious appeared in the room that Sera and Emily were in rather than at the Pearly Gates with St. Peter, as the Pearly Gates are how souls are supposed to enter Heaven.
5:13 one thing I notice is St. Peter’s role is useless. St. Peter is supposed to let ppl in and is the first person to see when u arrive at the pearly gates. Pentious just showed up in front of sera and em are we to assume he met Peter first before popping in front or the seraphims?
That is what we call a plot hole born of inconsistent writing. It could maybe be excused if we say "well, only human souls on their first journey arrive before St Peter" but that's just ad hoc
I love your jokes, and I believe that phrasing the subscribe action differently every time has been proven, analytically, to have a greater success rate. Also, I love how this particular subscribe joke about killing off your background characters, and how every time the office showed up, there were less characters in the background was a really nice touch.
Mild spoiler warning but something I recently noticed in the song in heaven is that when Emily is on the orb singing with Charlie her halo loses two of its dots. Not sure what it could mean but it clearly changes in that scene! Its shown really well in the amazon prime video at 2:46 and a few seconds forwards.
from what I understand the angelic weapons completely erase a soul which is why they work on demonic royalty as well as angels, I think that the soul gets re-judged whenever they die which is why sir pentious became an angel after dying to the laser and this is just the first soul to die after working towards redemption and as there seems to be little that can kill a soul in heaven there are very few souls that have actually fallen

That's a very cool theory! I really hope we'll get to know Pent's canon backstory
I can actually kinda see that actually. I was thinking that same thing when I watched the show originally.
I can definitely see that being the reason
He's definitely a British officer of some kind of that's the case. what with the British Victorian theme he has going on. Probably bought his officer position rather than earned it which would explain his less than stellar performance on the battlefield until the last episode.
@@Demicleas half a league onward
It's also possible Sir Pentious ascended because he still owns his soul. It's possible there are other sinners like Angel that should've ascended by now but can't because their soul is bound to someone else and unable to transition.
Good point. :)
that would explain the problem handily as most sinners either have to sell themselves for safety and/or power to bigger fish or get one year at most to build up enough power and influence to not be on the streets during the Extermination
I think you found the answer precisely.
Sir Pentious didn’t sacrifice himself for the sake of redemption. He did it because he loved his friends (and Cherri), and I think that helps explain the heart motif in his angel form.
I actually think the exact opposite scenario would be funny, and likely: that Sir Pentious doesn't trust anyone in heaven and thinks they're all out to get him, meanwhile all the angels and winners are ATTEMPTING to make this strange newcomer feel welcome 😂
it would match up with how Sir Pentious reacted to the Hazbin ensemble being like...base level decent to him
But wouldn't that be the same story he went through in the Hotel? I don't think their going to retread the same story.
Could be the big bad if he becomes an overlord.
He got killed by an Angelic Dagger
@@_NIKOS9_NIKOS good point. Yeah it would be a total waste to not have him come back as a sinner at this point
@@GuukanKitsune sadly, angel prob wont go to heaven since his soul is owned by someone shall not be named
Sir Pentious technically fulfilled Adam’s requirements for getting into Heaven.
Also, I suspect Emily won't be the only one welcoming Pentious. We saw the Angels arguing about the Extermination already. They may still be a minority, but I'm imagining there are some Angels who's view on the whole issue is that the people of Hell defended themselves, and Adam got what was coming to him.
Alternatively - they might see it as a way of helping them by giving sinners a chance to be judged again, making the problem even worse.
@@Gnidel If they went that route, they'd presumably just ask for volunteers who thought they'd improved enough to get into Heaven.
They might end up sending someone to do an investigation into the whole matter, looking into all the details that lead up to it and interviewing everyone involved (i.e. Carmilla, Charlie, Vaggie, to name several) all just to get a better grasp on the entire picture before making any kind of judgment.
I'm guessing most didn't even know about the exterminations.
Yeah. I can see Heaven suffering a schism over the matter in the next season.

Angelic weapons are just weapons infused with Heaven's radiant energy, so Adam killing with his radiant powers seems pretty much the same, plus how could he kill so many? He had an army because he was one dude against billions, of course he needed an army
Also it seemed that Adam actively enjoyed killing sinners himself so that could be a factor.
Right? Why even shoot the lasers if it doesnt perma kill sinners? I can't see Adam not going for the kill lmao.
It's possible that they don't know if only angel weapons are soul renders
Exactly. Also if his beams couldn't kill sinners then why would everyone be sad about Pentious? They'd just be like "oh he'll be back no biggie"
This idea of Sir Pentious struggling in Heaven brings up the possibility he meets and befriends Molly and Angel's mother.
to go back on what you said on Carmilla, while she does seem like a nice and doting mother from Vaggie's (and our) perspective, we always have to keep in mind that she is the richest and most famous arms dealer in hell, so she both is indirectly violent, and greedy, she is still a sinner
It'll be hilarious if Adam comes back as a sinner.
My best guess is that Adam believed Angels could only be harmed by other Angels of higher rank. We've already been told that's true of Lucifer, and it would make sense for him to believe Lute could hurt Vaggie, but still be surprised when sinners could hurt Angels.
Hell possibly being a purgatory is interesting.❤

I do believe that Adam has the ability of permanently killing sinners...I assume that angelic steel is just metal infused with angelic magic...
we shouldn't forget that Adam is an egocentric prick that doesn't like going to hell...I'd assume that this was one of the rare occasions where he himself went down...
He loves the extermination but he never stated that he himself normally participates in it...it could be that he just likes watching the extermination (a TV show while having popcorn and drinks)... similar to how capitol people in "tributes of panem" enjoy the death games) => the angels love killing demons and the panic they cause and Adam just loves to watch them run for their lives
this is supported by the fact that Lucifer and Charlie are seen to be able to injure adam with their bare hands (+ magic)
And also it doesn't make sense if Adam has a weapon to kill sinners permenantly, but when he fights the origin of sin (lucifer) he'd use a weapon that doesn't kill sinners?? It just doesn't make sense.
To be honest I just assumed angelic steel is a condensed form of the energy that makes up Adams laser attack
He's the leader of the exterminator army so he probably does go down to hell and i can't see him sending lute alone they look like they stick together
I genuinely believe that angels do have the power to just end a demons life. Otherwise why would Charlie and the others would care so much and dedicate a memorial to Pentious or freaking out wondering if Alastor died or not.
this is true, even with angelic weapons, they dont truly kill sinners permamently, sinners actually reanimate as random eyes on objects
@@Thispersonisreal Yeah. And no one can tell you you're wrong since Vivziepop herself said that.
I kinda feel bad for Pentious because he finally got to confess to Cherri and now he can't be with her
Well I don't know anything about the world of hellava boss and hotel but this youtube lr did say angles are able to go to hell again and stay if they want
@@amiiredhead2676also many of the hellborns would be without jobs especially I.M.P
"Extermination is entertainment!" -Adam, Episode 1
He doesn't just wipe them all out because then it wouldn't be fun.
This my thoughts exactly 👆🏾
Plus he was fighting the guy they stole his suite and destroyed his world of course he was not fighting smart but on emotion
It is not enough to just make a noble sacrifice. Remember Adam's list:
-Act Selfless
-Don't steal
-Stick it to the MAN
Adam was obviously making the list up on the spot, but it still means there is more than just a noble sacrifice to make it to Heaven. Sir Pentious did go along with Charlie's redemption program.
I heard something about Pentious going to Heaven because his actions somewhat reminisce Bible’s John 15:13
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
And Adam said it himself: He's "the" man. Clever wordplay by the writing team there...
Yes Adams list that really makes me curious, he was the first man, so who did he stick it to?
Not to mention Alastors line to him "You should know better than anyone what a soul can accomplish when they take charge of their own fate"
@@thatguy6482”The man” just means a person above oneself. Doesn’t have to be human so “The man” probably was an angel, Lucifer or the creator himself.
Vaggie's wings where turn off, only her eye was cut by an angelic weapon.
@@schwarzerritter5724 huh, you're right. I didn't notice that
Either god himself or perhaps one of Lucifer's brothers. Like Michael or Gabriel.
god himself or most likely Azrael the angel of death, as his role is transporting the souls of the deceased, he might have heard from Gabriel about the court meeting where Charlie their niece and Sera talked about sinners being redeemed. he probably dropped Sir Pentious off right in front of Emily and Sera on purpose as solid proof to Sera that sinners can be redeemed
@@masqueradecrow5672 I like that theory
Sir pentious better come back to keep in touch with the hotel gang
or he could just stay with them, i mean vaggie is sitting right there
@@mekiherring2088 vaggie is more or less a fallen angel, so she is not wanted back, but Sir pentious might be a whole nother can of snakes, since he is trully an angel now, and as it was mentioned in one of the episodes, angel has many, MANY rules (other than the ones adam made on the spot)
Sir Pentious is one of the best characters whatever video that includes Sir Pentious i must watch
I can totally see that 😂😂
I think drop the death ray part, and it’s pretty accurate
I was thinking the same thing! THAT is why the higher order said it was a dangerous idea!
It might have even been hinted at when angel joked about dying and being sent to “double hell”
5 min of silence for our hero
Rest In Peace *Dazzle*
😭
rip dazzle
Honestly watching Sir Pentious adjust to life in Heaven and no one being his friend except Emily sounds like a fun arc. Maybe he'll seek out Molly to tell her how her brother is doing.
Him choosing to move back to Hell is a fun twist. Rather than rule - better to be with friends in Hell than among strangers in heaven.
from sinner to winner sir pentious certainly will rock heaven to it's core just by being the first sinner to make it into heaven and being redeemed.
Charlie is literally just making purgatory. If she pitched it as purgatory to Sera, then it would have gone much better.
Sir Repentious
But i also think it works like
1.Redeem yourself
2.Die from something else than a angelic weapon
3.Reform yourself in Heaven instead of hell
That sounds familiar
Some certain austrian painter…
2:14 there’s a flaw in your logic, think of it like this if a human had the ability to shoot beams from their hands like this and they were going up against abunch of sinners, some of which have crazy super powers as well then sooner or later they’re gonna get overwhelmed. Hence why he rose the exorcist army, to have sheer power in numbers to level the playing field.
I just hope the others in heaven won't bully him. Poor guy just made his found family only to lose it all and prove they can get into heaven but now he's in a strange new place
Been thinking about a few theories a lot rn. Lemme just run them down for y’all
1: Alastor isn’t just a deer in hell but a wendigo, we can see this in episode2 as he grows more demonic in “stayed gone”.
Had to get that off chest, okey byeeee
nicee take.. I love legends and lores
@@PRISMSHOWERS_P why thank you :)
Ah well.
I love these lores
Yes!
Alastor wants to betray Charlie and control hell!
@@devinat2 I KNOW IT SAID THAT!!
He was probably a cowardly officer who slithered through the battlefield and got his men killed which is why he went to hell. By going against his sin he was redeemed is my guess.
White is so his color
WAIT WHERE'S HIS LITTLE EGG THINGS????? NOOOO
Maybe they manifested somewhere else in Heaven; although Frank won't be joining them for the time being since he survived.
Im so glad you all like it when pentious apear in heaven, i did that shot
Adam will most likely be reborn in hell.
This would mean no afterlife is truly permanent, as we keep changing over time.
One thing to remember is that in Dante's Inferno, Purgatory is divided in levels each one themed around a deadly sin, same as Hell in the show.
I think Sir Pentious might fall into depression with his friends in hell, or he could be an liaison for Emily & Charlie
i need Pentious to befriend Molly in heaven and tell her all about Angel. i would love to see her start a protest along Emily to stop the exterminations and help the hotel
Pentious followed adams list of rules for getting into heaven is why i think he got in. He did exactl what adam wrote down
Almost no one seems to be noticing that Lute was using a unique golden sword that may not be made of angelic steel but something else.
Just when Cherry was warming up to him, he gets vibe checked😭😭
Dang it, I'm already subscribed... guess one of the background characters has to die since I can't subscribe twice.
Personally, I think Adam never actually understood that Angelic Steel was the only thing able to permanently kill a soul- he knew the exorcists exclusively used it, but he probably assumed they did so because they couldn't just fire #### off sized lazers like him, and that *anything* angelic would work.
We see that title change, don't think you can sneak that one by us lol
In Dante’s purgatory it is said that each sin that doesn’t land you in hell can take up to over thousands of years per sin,
The only way to cut the time down is to have people on earth pray for you.
Constantine rules, Self Sacrifice.
I absolutely love Emily’s reaction to sir pentious in heaven 😂 it wooorrrkkksss
I love your jokes, and I believe that phrasing the subscribe action differently every time has been proven, analytically, to have a greater success rate. Also, I love how this particular subscribe joke about killing off your background characters, and how every time the office showed up, there were less characters in the background was a really nice touch.
I'm so glad that Sir Pentious didn't die forever because he's my favourite
Nice I am so excited about the second season
Mild spoiler warning but something I recently noticed in the song in heaven is that when Emily is on the orb singing with Charlie her halo loses two of its dots. Not sure what it could mean but it clearly changes in that scene! Its shown really well in the amazon prime video at 2:46 and a few seconds forwards.
I never noticed! That's cool!
Actually, maybe that was a mistake? Because it returns right afterwards
How y’all doing
Good hru

Good thank you 😌
Good, and u?
from what I understand the angelic weapons completely erase a soul which is why they work on demonic royalty as well as angels, I think that the soul gets re-judged whenever they die which is why sir pentious became an angel after dying to the laser and this is just the first soul to die after working towards redemption and as there seems to be little that can kill a soul in heaven there are very few souls that have actually fallen
I can’t wait to see what happens in season two, hope it’s gonna be exciting.
