and ruins many of them... Chip's a talented man, but he's always going one step too far (IMO) whether it's the style/removing all badges/chrome accents, etc., and his paint jobs many times SUCK!! NO HATE, I'd consider it an honor for Foose to do any of my cars, but many times I don't like his styling...the rest he's a genius/ frame off builds and such, can't top him.
As a youth, I had a '57 Cadillac. It was the greatest car I ever owned. Pittsburgh is full of hills and winding roads. That car held corners like an English sports car.
I had an absolutely beautiful 52 Cadillac Convertible. Started perfectly cold, but hot it would barely turn over. After trying all kinds of things, I figured it out my self. I used a double ground wire, and that was it. Started like a new car thereafter. Sold it unfortunately because I was sick of idiots giving it door dings. I couldnt drive it and park it anywhere without being so nervous about parking lot hits. No matter where I parked it some idiot would park right next to me.
One of my uncles worked at the Clark Avenue Cadillac plant on the southwest side of Detroit from '47 to '87. He was a final assembly and road test inspector. My folks lived about 4 miles from the plant, he would stop by when he tested some unique Caddys to show us. Great memories of a bygone era of Detroit. I watched a neighbor repair and repainted an all-white '49 convertible in '59. It was better than new when he was done, and it stood out from anything else. Caddys then showed the world you arrived.
Everyone says this keep it original But if you want to drive and enjoy it Then you make it modern. You can always bring it back to original. He never cut the car up..
Usually purging is used when doing stainless for the food industry for standards, for an exhaust system, you don't really "need" to have it done as the exhaust will just eject any loose debris anyways, so long as the tube is sealed. You will also want to do it to any welds before a catalytic converter too, just to help with the efficiency and longevity of the converter. When you're working on the induction system, it's a completely different game, as you want to ensure that there is nothing on the inside of the wall that will make its way into the engine. With Chip being Chip, he would want to make sure that the welds look as pretty on the inside as they do the outside, even though no one will see it. It's also why everything on the cars he builds have had time and attention given to it, even though it might never be seen again, as if it's not done to perfection, it shouldn't go on the car until it is.
@@MassageWithKlay Not purging will affect the integrity of the weld, and cause it to crack due to vibration. I’ve been doing this for thirty years, I should know.
I’m always fascinated with Chip’s attention to details, the red around the new wheels just like red steel rims under the factory hub cap back in the day. My first car was a ‘57 ElDorado, I sold it to finance college, best lesson I learned, you won’t find another one like it! This is a build going on in my head for the last 50 years the AM chassis and LS swap more the last 10. But, age, health and financial situation keeps it just that , a dream! Nice Nick name for it, Sweet Dream, baby!
I love it. Tastefully and meticulously done, but what else would expect from the master. Would love to drive it and experience the modern day performance, handling and ride, with that classic body and interior.
Chip Foose has a unique talent of modernising tradition always with class then adding that touch of bling to make the car look original yet a bit spicy. Perfect‼️☝🏻🧐
It is a pleasure to see your work! Thanks Chip for all that you have done to the car design industry! It will be very interesting seeing you do something minimalist and quiet.
They are only original once. I prefer my all original 58 Seville and 62 409 Imp, both of which have original miles in the teens. I’ve got a blazer LSX swap with aftermarket suspension, but my heart is with the originals. Might be hard to start and leak a little fluid, but so do I these days!
Unbelievable Style & Talent ASSEMBLED under one roof. No one goofin off, all as serious as The Foose Name itself. I know Chips more than capable, but I miss the veteran guy that laid out the Pinstripes like nobody’s business, (RIP 🙏) !
Gorgeous.. When I first saw the car, I almost didnt watch this.. Didnt want to see an iconic classic, being chopped up and restomodded, but this car looks and sounds beautiful, and I would bet drives like a dream.. Well done.. ✌♥️🇺🇸
Great looking upgrade, and just how I'd want it if it was mine. I noticed that the shots of the car driving at the end had the rear fender wheel covers removed, and in my opinion it looked much better. Amazing work!
@@johnvandeven2188 I think a powerful Caddy should have a low rumble telling you it's there but not get in the way of the conversation. This sounded really good.
Crazy seeing Mike Curtis roll those wheels in. I haven't seen that guy since Boyd Coddington's shop. I know Boyd and Chip had some bad blood, but I hope they worked it out before Boyd passed away.
Absolutely stunning car great work like usual, that car is spot on a 100%. Some cars look better stock looking, and some cars can pull off full customs but this one needed to look stock.
When I was about 20 yo (1970) My little bro won a 1952 Caddy in a church raffle. he was 10 yo! But he won, so they gave it to him the engine/tranny were OK (for and 18 yo car) but the interior was shabby, so we (Dad, me and bro) decided to "fix it up". I had worked on cars before, so dove right in. OMG ! I never saw so many different kinds of fasteners or number of them. could have filled buckets with them. Didnt take us long to figure out we were in WAY over our heads. Gimme a VW and I'm happy. Gotta leave the Caddies to the pros.
Foose is the best of the custom car builders today.
presioso cadillac, un sueño, saludos desde España, ahora vere todos vuestros videos, gracias.
I like that Chip is hands on with all of his builds.
Do ya ? Is that what you like ? Cool.

It’s nice to see these older guys still working.
LOL, yeah man, I'm an old school hot rodder, 70 years young, and that was the first thing I noticed...... haha!!
As a youth, I had a '57 Cadillac. It was the greatest car I ever owned.
Pittsburgh is full of hills and winding roads. That car held corners like an English sports car.
OK then?
A gorgeous car now made reliable, safe, and a pleasure to drive by skilled craftsman.
Wrong on all counts.
This is a joke.🙄👎
Got to Admire Chip. He has a plan is hands on from start to finish & the Execution of his guy’s work is Spot On. 👍

I have to hand it to Foose Design, that Cadillac has a perfect stance and is nice n low but not too low. Good job guys!
Chip actually works on the cars as opposed to kindigit!

Superior! Thank you Guys, God Bless you All ! Best Wishes&Greetings from Germany! Mr.Foose, thank you for exist!

That car is gorgeous ❤️
I like how the exhaust is properly argon purged.
Most exhaust fabricators either don’t know, or don’t care.

Probably $15,000 to $20,000
I must say that is the perfect way to take a restored car and make it a pleasure to drive in today’s world ! Absolutely outstanding !!!
Subtle but superb ! Well you wouldn't expect anything less ! Great to nearly see Mike Curtiss ! Thankyou to all .
Chip Foose & team just added 50+ years to the life of this American classic. Well done!
So cool to see people doing their job with an eye towards quality, not quick and dirty out the door.
I love these long form build videos. Thanks for not speeding it up and adding distracting music. I'd watch it if it was 5 times as long.
Noted!
All my life my dad had Cadillacs I had Cadillacs I'm 56 years old boy would I love to have a Cadillac like that how beautiful a car can be😊

Now that is a real RestoMod.
Amazing what a bucket of spare cash can achieve. Old school with modern underpinnings. SUPERB.

I appreciate the quality in the build, but something like this I believe should stay original. But it’s not my car.
Completely agree. Originality is now lost.
I agree with the displeasure. My advice would be to keep this one original and buy something different for long-distance cruising.
Yeah :(
It’s sad to see swap an original working engine in that shape…
I share your sentiment here, this is a nice vehicle for sure and very usable but I could never change my 41 series 60 😅 just feels wrong lol
Stunning, as always. When the money comes, I’ll send you a 1949 Series 60 Fleetwood Sedan for a similar treatment. Blessings on you all.
I have a '55 and '59 Fleetwood :)
Now that’s how you do a correct restomod. Awesome work Chip and the team. 👍
You're talking 60k in upgrades.
@@lop8828 that's not bad considering it's Foose quality craftsmanship, a full build now is well over 100k. I prefer paying the 60k .
Gosh that is just plain beautiful - well done everyone; nothing more to say.
That’s a beautiful old body-new chassis and running gear Caddy. Love it!
So calming watching those craftsmen at their art.
I absolutely love all of the work the Chip does.

Just rechroming the bright work must have cost a bundle.Chip always makes something beautiful even better. This is so classy.👍🏻
Not to mention the difficulty getting work like that done these days. Chroming may become a lost art.
Love those wheels!
I heard a Muscle Car then SAW that! TRY showing mucsle cars and adding the sound track of that ride🤙fanartist😇always loved your work Chip.

Outrageous, gorgeous and practical. Wow.
That's sooo smooth. What a great car.
Great design is great on its own and does not need design upgrades. Non visual mechanical upgrades are OK but that's it!!!

great job, i like this format showing the build progress
Wow, that car oozes pure CLASS!
WoW !! fantastic as usual......these guys don't foose around .
Love the 4 muffler design. Rob's HP but makes a good sound. I get tired of everything sounding like a gravel truck. I'm guilty too.
