Marburg virus disease (MVD) is a rare condition that is caused by the Marburg virus (same virus family as Ebola) first identified in 1967. The reservoir host of Marburg virus is typically the African fruit bat, and has had several spillover outbreaks into the human population.

The disease is usually spread through contact with infected blood or other bodily fluids rather than airborne transmission.

I don't see this being a pandemic since there have been several outbreaks in the past and it has stayed contained. Certainly this is a severe condition that surveillance programs don't take lightly.
