What is Fluoride?
Fluoride is essential for dental health as it helps prevent tooth decay by making teeth more resistant to acid attacks from plaque bacteria and sugars in the mouth. It also aids in the remineralization of enamel, reversing early decay. For more detailed information, you can read the latest peer-reviewed article on fluoride's critical role here. To learn more about where fluoride comes from and its importance, you can check out my most recent #scicomm video and read the latest peer-reviewed article from SAGE Journals.

Testing for Flu (Influenza) Explained
Просмотров 1 тыс.28 дней назад
As we find ourselves well into flu season, it’s more important than ever to stay vigilant about our health. One key step in protecting yourself and others is getting tested for the flu if you experience symptoms. Typically, a healthcare provider will use a swab to collect a sample from your nose or throat. This sample is then tested for the presence of the influenza virus. Results can often be ...

Overview of an Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG)
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.Месяц назад
An electrocardiogram, often called an ECG or EKG, is a simple and quick test that measures the electrical activity of your heart. Small sensors, called electrodes, are placed on your skin to detect the electrical signals your heart produces each time it beats. These signals are recorded by a machine and displayed as a series of waves on a graph. Health care providers use ECGs to check for vario...

What is Sleep Apnea?
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.Месяц назад
Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder where your breathing repeatedly stops and starts while you sleep. This happens because the muscles in your throat relax too much, blocking your airway. When this occurs, your brain wakes you up just enough to reopen your airway, which can disrupt your sleep many times throughout the night. People with sleep apnea often snore loudly and feel very tired duri...

Cute aipom plush you have
I honestly don't get it
Thank you ❤
Thank you ❤
I just got my flu shot- I personally have lots of allergies. Should I be worried that the doctor did not have any concern for a reaction ?
Thanks for posting this. I appreciate your clear approach to news-worthy scientific issues.
my pleasure! very thankful for the support!
Is it works even after 5 day??? Please reply in urgent
I had unprotected sex ...and now it's 5 days over ....pls advice if I can have this medicine now and it may work
PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis) is advised to be taken within 72 hours of a potential HIV exposure, meaning you should seek treatment and start taking PEP medication within 3 days of exposure.
Gracias. Info general. Nada especifico 😮
This medication is transphobic.... It says you can't take it if you were assigned female at birth. I thought their argument was whatever gender you feel like, you ARE that gender. How come a person who was born a female but is transgender male can't take it. I believe either the pharma company is transphobic or science blows their argument out of the water. I don't understand, please explain it to me without being rude and violent
Thank you
my pleasure!
So you think more vaccines are good, even with all the side effects
serious adverse reactions occur in less than 1 event in 1mil - 2mil doses. if you’re going to make incorrect claims, find another channel.
I don't think I would tell my primary care physician anything. The old goat in the USA southern town I live in would probably want me put away somewhere if I even mentioned I was "gay"
Possibly the worst thing you could have done.
nah girl, i’m thriving. ran another half marathon this morning 😘
@@ScientistSwanda Good for you! Makes no difference to me? Really not my problem. Please keep documenting for us.
Can you share your Linkdin Username I want to connect with you.....
This much easy....OMG! this is the first time on youtube that I searched for a topic and I got it in one try.........Awesome Video TYVM........
thank you very much!! 😊
I’m prescribed Atovaquone / Proguanil while visiting in a high risk area of Laos. Found your video to educate me on Malaria and this medicine. It can be a serious situation if a female mosquito with this virus happens to land on us. Thanks for this info. 11-2024.
I’m glad the videos could be useful! safe travels on your trip!
So does this mean the C19 "vax" isn't actually a real vax, since the official definition of what a vaccine was didn't cover it when it first came out? Do we acknowledge that literature and definitions change over time, or do we go with what you're trying to say here?
I got Paxlovid on day two of symptoms and it made an immediate difference. My copay was going to be $800+ but luckily the 3rd pharmacy I called told me to call Paxlovid (or go to their website and search “paxcess”) to sign up for their copay assistance program, and it was $0. It’s weird the doctor/insurance company/other pharmacies didn’t tell me that.
Thank you for explaining the differences in the vaccines, much appreciated!
my pleasure! 😇
Hi. What about EBV? My MD who is also a functional medicine doctor says that is what they used to treat chronic EBV.
I’ve never heard of it used for this. Can you please provide the peer review scientific articles to support it?
Dr sabine hazan
Just took it and its a life changer.
8 out of ten
I don’t mind this flavor, but it taste too much like Meta Moon for me. I was hoping a bit more unique.

Sour patch kid the Oreo one I’ve had those they suck🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮.
did you try the Oreo x Coke collaboration?
new flavor-cancer
First
I started pep before 20hrs I'm i going to be okay ?
PEP should be started as soon as possible after a possible exposure to HIV, no later than 72 hours.
How are you all doing today?
Try NOT sucking dick..
❤
There’s some evidence that it can also fight hpv virus infection.
please provide the peer reviewed scientific literature, thanks!
thnx
Thanks for the update. Just on my shot today.
wohoo! flu fighters 💪
Had the jag last week knocked the shit out of me had flue for a week i think next year i'll just take my chances
oh bummer. I ran a half marathon the next day 💪
This is how Ivermectin works on parasites. Recently, last 20 years (?), avermectin/ivermectin/eprinomectin has also been shown to help fight viral infection, cancer in humans. The working is a bit more complicated. Could you pay attention to that?
there is no peer reviewed scientific literature, as of now, that shows this. please provide the links to these scientific studies you are talking about.
@@ScientistSwanda Google the following keywords: "colorectal cancer ivermectine" or "prostate cancer ivermectine". It is "promising", but not better than "potential". It would be good if medical trials were organised.
is it toxic?
like i mean the acid that makes it change color because i accidentally bit into the bottle and it tasted funny
my primary care doc who I have been going to for years in my backward conservative community has not a clue that I am gay and I would never be the person I would go to for this.
Lol...
Vaccines AGAIN - you have to as dumb as a stump if youre not getting this yet.
They did very little testing on this NEW Vaccine...Why NO news on that?👎👎👎👎👎
Why can't it cross the membrane to the nucleus?
Gates and Big Pharma thank you
what about little pharma?
🤣🤣🤣👎👎👎
I am sure there would be so many moms out there who would love to hear a breakdown of infant vaccines, pros, cons, side effects etc. From you. You do a wonderful job at explaining!
hello! I do have a running playlist of many vaccines that I have broken-down to understandable terms over the years. Hopefully these would be useful for you / others? ruclips.net/p/PL2yZFOEnpR_B7NhUT5F_1ARFXJz88faWK
Why would you be concerned whether it was influenza virus or any other respiratory tract infection? The management is basically the same, even for SARS-CoV-2, which is symptom control, rest, maintenance of fluids as there’s no specific cure for the infection other than let it run its course. If the person has a compromised immune system then they may be able to obtain antivirals.
Paxlovid?
Tamiflu?
precisely my response as mentioned in the comments above: antiviral treatment is different for different viral infections.
And time dependent, so kinda worth knowing what you got 🤦♂️
@@ScientistSwanda I’m in the U.K., a former nurse practitioner and hence I am aware that not all antivirals are the same and that they are time dependent. For instance with shingles or chicken pox aciclovir has to be given in the first 48 hours to be effective and that effectiveness drops off as time progresses. Also we offer influenza vaccine to all children aged 2 to 11, immunocompromised people and everyone over 65 on the NHS. This is our guidance from NICE: This guidance does not cover the circumstances of a pandemic, impending pandemic, or a widespread epidemic of a new strain of influenza to which there is little or no community resistance. 1.1 Oseltamivir and zanamivir are recommended, within their marketing authorisations, for the treatment of influenza in adults and children if all the following circumstances apply: national surveillance schemes indicate that influenza virus A or B is circulating (the Health Protection Agency in England [and the equivalent bodies in Wales and Northern Ireland] uses information from a range of clinical, virological and epidemiological influenza surveillance schemes to identify periods when there is a substantial likelihood that people presenting with an influenza-like illness are infected with influenza virus) the person is in an 'at-risk' group as defined in 1.2 the person presents with an influenza-like illness and can start treatment within 48 hours (or within 36 hours for zanamivir treatment in children) of the onset of symptoms as per licensed indications. 1.2 For the purpose of this guidance, people 'at risk' are defined as those who have one of more of the following: chronic respiratory disease (including asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) chronic heart disease chronic renal disease chronic liver disease chronic neurological conditions diabetes mellitus. People who are aged 65 years or older and people who might be immunosuppressed are also defined as 'at-risk' for the purpose of this guidance.
This happens every seasonal change for me. So very frustrating. This time around I've managed to fracture a rib :(😢
oh my gosh, I’m so sorry & I wish you a quick recovery ❤️🩹
Placebo effect. You would have felt better anyway.
Great explanation
thank you very much!
