Thank you everyone for helping this video surpass 200K+ views. We just released a brand new album, you can listen to it here -- ruclips.net/video/ZBb6e7T7Y0M/видео.html -- Enjoy!
not only is this album a banger, but out of all the instrumental metal I listen to, this album cures my adhd like none other. whenever something needs to get this done this album is my go to, i could listen to this all day. also had the chance to see you guys play this live in 2017 when you opened for intervals in chicago, which yall killed. been a fan ever since!
People give bad name for djent bands but..the 2010s jazz /djent/ instrumental boom has produced no. of great bands that will be remembered for years to come.
Tracklisting: 1. Laughing With Such Abandon (00:00) 2. Where Every Word Spoken, Speaks (04:48) 3. And Every Glance Given Has Only One Meaning (07:49) 4. Spirit (12:24) 5. Stars in the Ocean (16:17) 6. The Pace of Glaciers (23:23) 7. Diminishment (33:34) 8. Permanence (37:15) 9. Achievement (43:17)
Terrapin is finally released on vinyl. There are only 100 copies available to the public, get yours here: outrunthesunlight.bandcamp.com/album/terrapin-2
I've made many mistakes in my life but I know that a big one was not clicking on this video many years ago. A truly great experience listening to outrun the sunlight.
The Pace of Glaciers is absolute genious. All of your work is perfect for writing the stories that are stuck in my head and have some trouble getting out. So much space... Damn, this whole record is bliss.
This album is getting me through some tough times. Love it's transitions with pacing and the mellowness through the middle, it leaves me refreshed by the end and continuously ready for repeats:) you guys are incredible and I've become a life long fan of your art. Don't ever give up on making beautiful music! God bless
+TheUltim8Apocalypse My friend and I literally nicknamed it "The Java Album" because we listen to it while we're writing code or source codes in the Java Language. hahahaha
youtube autoplay brought this up right after Diminish the Gods Self titled EP… This is probably the most beautiful piece of work I've ever heard. I love metal, I love pot, I love smoking pot and listening to metal, but this… this is the music that will making my par-toking experiences a true journey into my own mind. Thank you guys, so much for such beautiful art.
Listening to it over and over. This is the perfect album to listen to at 5 in the morning. simply amazing and yet I find something new everytime I listen to it. And pace of glaciers is truly a masterpiece.
How could I live without this music, I'm not even aware. I just love this with all my heart, it's probably the heaviest and most beautifully loud album I've heard in a long while. Like The Faceless if their music was made by Greek Muses. lml
Such a great album! It was like going on a journey like reading a really good book. They build so much tension and resolve it by giving you something else to worry about. Amazing!
another work shit day, another people shit day but a miracle, a moment for my own, face to face with myself, lay back, headphones, outrun, thoughts flowing, you're right, damn they're good, waving positive through an ocean inmensity of surrounding negativity of daily life...kick off all and explore thoughts, relaxing each atom, each molecule, each perception, rebooting mind, restarting soul, thanks guys.
Saw these rad dudes twice now! Once on their first tour and once in Chicago with Russian Circles just a couple months apart. Nothing short of amazing and super friendly guys!!! See them live in their element and buy a physical copy of their albums please. They deserve all the support!
just picked this shit up on bandcamp after playing it consistently for like the past 2 months off spotify, sooooooooo fucking good m8s keep that shit up
Holy crap this album.....THAAAAANK YYOOOOOOOU!!!! Seriously, I was just minding my day at work, listening to random postrock and I see this album in the list, I click on it....fabulous! ...aaaaand the The Pace of Glaciers starts....
Album title is terrapin (a reptile similar to turtles and tortoises, the ones with webbed claws that spend time in water and on dry land) and the album cover has a nautilus (mollusk related to squids and cuttlefish) shell shape. Why is that?
+Kegan Vermeulen "Terrapin" refers to the OTS emblem (the turtle illustration found on our most of our artwork), and the shell is actually an Ammonite, which was chosen it because it visually references the Fibonacci spiral (another piece of imagery we have used in the past). They are both different representations of the band. Hope that answers your question.
+Outrun The Sunlight +Outrun The Sunlight you guys, and of course Tool, are now what sticks out in my mind when i hear the word Fibonacci now. Thumbs uppp. Also when i hear the word 'sequence', i always think of Fibonacci no matter the context, or conversation its thrown in. Strange how that works really. Well. Most definitely, im diggin yalls work, clearly good choice of music to study for upcoming Medic test :). Just wanted to send yall some good vibes from Tennessee :) thanks for this beautiful piece of art here. Btw, around 12:17 ish, im reminded of an outro from a season of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, its quite nostalgic. Thumbs up.
Another talented Instrumental band that needs more attention... Have you guys tried reaching out to Century Media Records? They post a lot of little-known bands like you.
These sounds are incredible , I serve when I am studying or playing video games , very peaceful and inspiring. PD: Sorry for my bad English , I'm from Colombia and not even speak and write well, though my full support
I'd classify a "post-whatever" band as a band that draws from the surface elements of a genre, but intentional subverts them. In most cases, "post" bands opt to go without vocals or genre specific riff structures. Rather, they use unique rhythms and their instruments to influence timbre and texture. I guess? Something like that. I'm just drawing from different descriptions I've read over the years. I do know that most "post" genres were coined by journalists and critics to describe a band that drew inspiration from the elements of a genre, but transcended the genre's specific characteristics. Maybe that's a little more clear?
the prefix post more or less describes the sound of a genre before or after its peak. Nothing to do with vocals. Post hardcore is like Shai Hulud and Misery Signals
"Post" is indicative of a genre that's progressed past it's defining elements to include a broader range of musical elements. Usually "post" genres are more cohesive than the genre they sprung from and will have a more mature, less experimental sound because they already have a foundation of musical elements to draw from. This is allows them to build a more solid framework and focus on doing more cohesive ornamentation that will make complexity in the music less chaotic.

also had the chance to see you guys play this live in 2017 when you opened for intervals in chicago, which yall killed. been a fan ever since!
Ah man, this is so gratifying to read!! Thanks for sticking around with us for so long.
This right here is real Music. It furnishes the introspective soul.
People give bad name for djent bands but..the 2010s jazz /djent/ instrumental boom has produced no. of great bands that will be remembered for years to come.
I guess we can thank Jared Dines for giving djent a bad name
Gru - Cosmogenesis is the best album ever
Underrated album, should have more views
I think I hear a touch of Djent. Great music to allow your thoughts to flow. who need lyrics when the music speaks this well.. very peaceful.

Don't ever give up on making beautiful music! God bless
Glad our music has helped you in someway. We won't give up on music.
This is some fine stuff. In particular, the unusual and complex melodic patterns in "The Pace of Glaciers" get me every time.
This is great study/programming music.

Insanely good blending of crushing metal and beautiful post rock nuances..best musical find of 2015 so far!
I come from an instrumental background myself...so I really appreciate this. music seems patient and explorative. perfect!
The album is incredible, love the part at 14:10
This album for real came at a pivotal moment in my life. I remember when I first stumbled onto it. It opened up a whole world of inspiration
Listening to it over and over. This is the perfect album to listen to at 5 in the morning. simply amazing and yet I find something new everytime I listen to it. And pace of glaciers is truly a masterpiece.

Been sporadically returning here for almost a decade.
Thanks for always coming back!
How could I live without this music, I'm not even aware.
I just love this with all my heart, it's probably the heaviest and most beautifully loud album I've heard in a long while. Like The Faceless if their music was made by Greek Muses. lml
I'm listening for the first time this band and the stuff is a masterpiece. I'm proud for the band makes me feel so good.
Such a great album! It was like going on a journey like reading a really good book. They build so much tension and resolve it by giving you something else to worry about. Amazing!

This is my first time listening... Great music! I'm rocking out in my cubicle.
Quartet. You people know what you are doing. BRILLIANT MUSIC. おめでとう御座います!
The composition and mood reminds me of a Latvian post-rock band called Audrey Fall. The orchestral atmosphere is delightful :)
What a masterpiece of an album, great flow & variation.
Seriously, one of the best works i've ever listen
You get about 10 seconds to think that this album might come in slowly and gently. Then the afterburners kick in. From there on ... what a ride!
Really enjoying this right now, miroist has you on his tracklist, and thank god he does
That rules because Miroist rules.
Can't to see you guys this Saturday with Chon!
+Emmanuel Martinez Holy shit, I know I am months late to this party, but how badass of a show was that?! 2 totally phenom and talented bands!!
Your music is sunlight to my brain man.

Bandcamp + Outrun The Sunlight = FLAC

this is what I like man, music that just sounds good to listen. Relaxing the ears and soothing the brain.
marvelous, guys. I definitely hear the band's spiritual insight, written all over your sound
This reminds me of Animals as Leaders' first album, I dig it!
Thank you, algorithm
@@kefcr the RUclips gods are finally doing something right
You know what would be really sweet, Pace of Glaciers with some nice clean soft vocals.
My thoughts when the record was about to end: "Please don't tell me this is ending I NEED MORE"

Cool names, odd choices.
So weird about a name and names lol
hm. let me put it this way: good that you evolved since back then!
that stop'n'go is everything but chillaxed x'D
Another talented Instrumental band that needs more attention... Have you guys tried reaching out to Century Media Records? They post a lot of little-known bands like you.
Ammonite as their album cover? Hell yeah
Great job this album it's phenomenal!!! Greetings from finland!!

Subscriber #1000 :)
Awesome music, I love it! I hope this is going to be available as a CD.
It is at www.outrunthesunlight.bandcamp.com
Thank you! That's good to know. But unfortunately the shipping to Germany is more than the cd itself^^ Too bad.
Fuck! Sorry dude. Someday, when the post lowers their price, you can get one!
GuitargasmicWizardry You got me totally figured out! But in this case I might make an exception.
Yeah I also like to have them as a back up. Shit can always get crazy any second, you never know!
OUTSTANDING WORK on this album/project !!! many thanks !!! peace , O
how are you guys?I've just heard, you make exciting things. i feel some kind of weightlessness with your music and sound
This album soon caught me at the very first tune of the beginning.
simply amazing, something I never heard like before
So, could this be considered post-djent? Post-prog?
What the fuck it is, it's god damn lovely.
post-progressive does sound like a perfectly entwined genre
+Conspiracy Cat what does the prefix "post" even do?
I'd classify a "post-whatever" band as a band that draws from the surface elements of a genre, but intentional subverts them.
