Appreciate your feedback sir 🙏. Honestly i don't know exactly how much it cost in dealerships but im sure they're a couple of hundred bucks for sure. Cheerz
great video. Please make a video on suspension as my car which is 2004 too shakes the steering when i drives it. even at lower speeds, I can feel the steering shaking in my hands. nothing wrong with wheel balancing or alignments as i already checked. Thanks mate. subscribed.
I have a 2010 Volvo S40 R design with only 74k miles so far I really like it only had it few months now I wanna make it last as long as possible should I go ahead and change the transmission fluid? I wanna make sure I’m taking good care of it what do you think I should do?
I'm sorry im not very familiar with volvo. But if i were you, i would go back to the mechanic and ask if he put the right transmission fluid in. Assume it is right fluid and in the right level and he did the TCM RESET AND LEARN. The problem could be in the transmission.
Are you sure that that general purpose o-ring doesn't dissolve in oil? Also; there is a fill hole above the drain hole. You don't need to fill through the dip stick hole.
Universal o-rings works just like oem o-rings. 😊 Not aware there's a fill hole above the drain hole lol. My first day doing this job without service manual 😆. Anyways the job is done. Thanks for letting me know. 👌
@@Cargorage oe or not, it's the material the o-ring is made of that needs to be correct. Hence different colors on o-rings. Just check out ethanol engine compared to regular petrol engines. Alcohol is way more aggressive and therefor other o-rings are used.
True, i didn't realize the o-ring that was on was a different color to the new one i installed. It's been a while so i don't remember what i used in this video. Yes, green orings are more durable than black, but black o-rings has been around and the (originals) for automotive. I didn't have a green one therefore that's what i used.
@@Cargorage Green ones are more durable in the environment they are suited for, but maybe not in an environment they are not suited for. The same goes for all different materials. I don't know the color coding, but one should not change from one color/type to another since you don't know how the new one reacts to the chemical it will be exposed to.
You skipped the mandatory transmission flushing required during the transmission oil change. Flushing is done a few times with new transmission oil. When the oil, which is coming out is clear, transmission flushing is completed and you can fill the transmission with the new oil. The most important one, you need to reset the transmission oil counter from the TCM (it is not the same as a normal Service Indicator reset). If you don't do it, you may end up to the situation that the computer tells you to change the transmission oil pretty soon after the work is already done.
@@fanfeck2844 In case of a Volvo, you can go to Volvo and ask for them. Thing is that, if you don’t flush it, there is no benefit of changing the transmission fluid either. I can tell that as a trained mechanic by Volvo, Ford, PSA, Toyota and Suzuki.
Flushing doesn't do any harm at all, in fact saves tons of dollar and headache. As being an aftermarket tech for years, I know most european cars transmission are non serviceable and that is why you don't see many european older cars out there (15yrs older), i've done tons of transmission services with european cars that has transmission problem and fixed it. Just like any cars out there, they shouldn't say non-serviceable because fluids go bad and could damage the system. Anyways, flush saves money and potentially can save ur auto.
Very clear instructions. You delivered a flawless and easy-to-understand presentation. Thanks. How much does this service cost in 2024 US dollars?

Congratz on your purchase. I would absolutely do it if i were you. 🫡
1:05 damn, I have a T5 and I can't reach the dipstick, did you have to remove the cables that are in the way of the dipstick?
I didn't have to but kinda push it away i think, just to have some room to get the dipstick out.

My mechanic changed the transmission. Now there is slipping of gears. Gear is not moving from second to third... Any advise

Where to find the transmission fluid dipstick in a Volvo s40 2010?
Pls watch the video. It will show you.
Good video, but would you please change your thumbnail? That is my watermarked image of my S40, with my logo cropped out.
Thanks
Allright sorry there. Nice car👌. Ill change it when i have time this week.
Sorry again.
Is this procedure for a manual or automatic gearbox ?
This procedure is for automatic.
What is the size of the washer you used.
Hi, i dont remember if that was the 18 or 20 mm inside diameter. Its one of the other. Its a washer from honda differential bolts.
nice video ,how much oil goes to gearbox?
I forgot, if you watch the video, i will mention it.
@@CargorageI watched video without sound😋 okey if i got more time i watch with sound
Lol
No filter change?
That wasn't part of the service i did. I don't even know where the filter is 🤔. I wished i knew.
You have to remove disassemble the transmission to change the filter on these...

Well thats why the title is just fluid change and not flush. So, therefore its just like that. And yes the tcm was reset also. Just didn't film it.
There’s a lot of debate about flushing transmissions, whether it does more harm than good

You didn’t even start it up at the end. Such a missed opportunity
