Here's a great clip of the ever beautiful and talented Sheri Lewis. Lambchop is tipsy and uses a couple four letter words. Not your usual Sheri Lewis Routine.
As a kid in the early-to-mid 90s, I only knew bubble permed, prone-to-edutain, PBS-era Shari & Lamb-Chop. So to watch both of them unchained like this is an absolute revelation.
I resented her as a kid because my Sister always wanted to come early from the park to watch her on UK tv on a Sunday afternoon. Now as an adult I can see what an extraordinary talent she really was. One of a kind; there'll never be another. ❤
It was Lambchop's drinking problem that got her into children's television. It was actually community service. You don't even want to know what Kermit did to end up on Sesame Street...
Honestly the greatest ventriloquist in the last hundred years at least. She is absolutely one with that puppet. She doesn't even try. It's 100% natural.
+Dan Williams She was definitely up there with Paul Winchell and Jimmy Nelson. Jimmy is the only one still with us. And, of course, we can't leave off Edgar Bergen. He was truly brilliant as well. Thankfully, Lambchop didn't retire with Shari's death as her daughter, Mallory, had Lambchop's voice nailed down.
+Mark Gailmor One of my favorite quotes is from Bergen. He was asked what the secret was to being a great ventriloquist. he replied, "It doesn't matter if the audience sees your lips move... just as long as you are FUNNY."
I’m almost taken aback seeing Shari Lewis with straight-ish hair and looking relatively young. I’m just so used to the grandma look she rocked in the 90s.
This is AMAZING! I absolutely love Shari and I was devastated over her death when I was a child. I will always sing the praises of Shari to help keep her memory alive, especially after seeing this and that Christmas Special!
Watch it… Touching and reminded me of growing up in the 70’s…. 😢 really This show always made you feel great no matter what you felt sad 😞 on that day.
Mrs Sherry Lewis was so talented. I don't know how she flipped between her and lamb chop as fast as she did in that song especially, I couldn't do that I couldn't keep track of both voices at once. She did it though which is really fascinating for me. I love it! I do miss her, she was a wonderful puppeteer.
@@True_Christian Woof... sadly too common today to see someone who's calling themselves a "true Christian" having very UN-Christlike opinions on talented people who are not here to defend themselves. Didn't the Bible's main commandments boil down to 'treat others the way you yourself want to be treated'? Shari and her characters picked me up when I was down. Can't say the same about most mistakes calling themselves "Christians"...
Why is NOBODY talking about the speed!!? 😮 One day Lamb Chop is just going to be walking along by herself one day and I will not be shocked because the transition between Her and Shari was FLAWLESS! They may as well be separate individuals and not a puppet.
I really like this of Shari and Lamb Chop that I watch every chance I get and planning to do the same thing for Halloween this year but instead of Lamb Chop herself I'll be making a pink sock puppet of a little piggy named Pork Chop as part of my costume this year for Halloween
This was way better than I expected. I vaguely remember me mam mentioning lambchop as a kid but it was way before my time. Anyway, now I'm older my pet name for my bf is lambchop and he's not well today so I came looking for a lambchop is poorly or sick video and found this. It's funny that this lambchop hiccups coz mine does too. So I've sent him this saying are you sure you're not feeling rough coz you've been drinking like here? Childish as hell but I reckon it'll cheer him up. I wasn't expecting it to be so good though, I watched the whole thing. This lady had mad talent, I thought it was just a show where she'd be out of sight when the puppet was talking or they'd use a voice over etc. I didn't know she was a ventriloquist and could sing really well too all at once. Brilliant 👏👏👏
I once saw on late night tv a video of Shari Lewis with Lambchop at Bud Friedman's Improv in Los Angeles with Shari surprisingly doing some blue-ish humor with sexual suggestiveness. She did not cross the line of being inappropriate and it was awesome! I have searched but cannot find it anywhere. Her performance was priceless!
I remember a character on the Shari Lewis show who was kind of mean. I think his first name was Billy, but that's all I remember. Does anyone remember him?
@@sharde26 No, I'm not talking about a puppet but an actual person. I only remember a scene where Shari had made a "sunshine cake" and Bill picked it up and threw it at the camera.
