Not GTR, not Turbo, not Vspec, but is it a R34? .... Hell yea good enough for me.👍
Omar A It's a GT-T not a GT-R.
pretty sure his is a 25gt, not a gtt, gtt has much more power than 140kw or whatever he said
Josue GTR Its a GT. GTT are turbo and P Platers can't drive them.
its a nissan skyline r34 gt
Skyline R34 25GT - Description
0:25 after hearing this I suddenly only heard the pros in the video
Good for you getting a Skyline. I have an R34 GTt running about 340 BHP. Imported it 5 years ago and spent an absolute fortune on it since then, but it has been worth every penny. Had a 500 BHP R33 GTR for 7 years before this but the R34 is by far the better car. It has won several Best In Show events.
A Skyline is a Skyline so all credit to you. Dont sell it
UK Skyline nutter. !!!!!!!
If I bought a GTT manual and kept it stock, what do you reckon the maintenance costs will be like ? They're quite affordable in Australia.
nice! how did you actually import your car? im 14 and saving up for a jdm car, hopefully a 32 or a rx7 fd
@@vybz2260 good luck getting a rx7 unless you have enough for a house deposit
@@vybz2260 well importing your car depends on where you live.
GTT better then a GTR... 🤦🏻♂️
I've owned this car on P-plates for 2 years now. Initially, Iw as unsure of it at first as well. But once I stopped focusing on the fruitless pursuit of power so much and started modding it for it's handling I fell in love. The R chassis really does drive like it's on rails, and I've been modding it in preparation for my final goal of turbocharging it ever since.
But like in all reality who buys a GTR for Fuel Economy ?
Nobody, but this ain't no GTR

It’s a gts 😂😂

That was a great analysis. I have an R34 GTT and the turbo makes it everything, the steering is like yours and I put on new oem shocks so I have a good ride. more power than I need for a daily but so much fun in the twisties and autocross. I've had zero reliability issues with it but I've done a ton of maintenance.
Know this was ages ago but sick vid👌🏾
Know this was ages ago but sick comment 👌
Thanks Pat, am planning on buying a skyline on Saturday. Just hoping I won’t regret it. Am very exited though. Much appreciated your video 🙏
jasper426 turns out there was a turbo in it. Something he failed to mention on the website 😢
jasper426 I’m can. I just need to find one without a turbo
@@g2phaze898 what's so bad about a turbo?sure the maintenance is gonna be more effort but driving it will definitely be more fun
MONTR65 no. A p plate can’t drive a turbo. Therefore I need to find one without a turbo
@@MONTR65 For some shit cunt states in Aus (no offence) Provisional License holders are forced to drive cars that fit a specific power/weight specification which means, no boosted cars for example like supercharged V8s, or Turbo anything, I don't even think V8s are allowed, but since I don't have to put up with the bullshit, I don't know too much
After hearing your perspective of owning an R34, I really have to consider all of those "Cons outweigh the Pros." Thank you for making this video. :)
Bought my own R34 25GT and had it transported up to me from Melbourne a few weeks back, I've had it for about a week now and I am totally in love with it. Your video motivated me just that bit more to go through with getting one throughout all the months that I had been saving for it. Great video mate.
Quick question though and would appreciate any answer, I don't suppose you could tell me where you got the carbon fibre centre console shroud? Mine is somewhat barely hanging on and I need a replacement and what you have in this video is exactly what I'm after, cheers.

Haha I'm 6.2 aswell I have enough trouble getting into my skyline let alone fitting my mother and friends in the back and front. I love the car waited 10 years for it. Ever since I saw it on the streets and on the games
I’m 17 and live in the uk and I’m getting an R33 GTS imported for my first car soon , can’t wait! 😊
Hey, how did it work out? Would love to hear an update =D
RaccoonMachine1 hate to break it to you mate but you’re not. At least if you mean insuring it as well. Until recently I thought I could get a skyline as my first car but I quickly found out that is impossible unless you are very rich.
Seeing as it’s an import, it has a 2 litre engine (although there are some 2L cars you could insure), rear wheel drive, over 170hp and it really just comes down to the fact that it’s a skyline from the 90s.
Most insurance brokers won’t even give you a quote but if they do it will be a 5 figure amount.
I know it’s hard to believe but that’s just uk insurance for you, not like the us where 16 year olds can get supras rzs.
However there are still some cool looking Japanese cars you could with insurance for under 5k. Such as a Impreza r 09 1.5 hatchback (or 07 r sport which is a Hawkeye), Lancer gs2-4 from 1.5l to 2.0l (probably not the 1.8 cause it has a bit more power), basically anything after the year 2000 with an engine less than 2 litres, fwd or awd (rear wheel is possible but you’d need a black box till your 20 maybe) and less than 170hp
I live in tassie and there’s no power restrictions or anything to do with engine modifications down here, and Idk whether I’d get an gtr r34 one day in the far future or a sexy sounding v8, I mean nothing’s beats a good ol Aussie v8, and I would love to get a generic gtr r34 before the states are legally allowed to buy them because epwhen that happens Australia and Japan won’t have any left because every man and his dog will get them in the states, either crash them, or heavily modify them and only use them as drag cars or they’re do something stupid and end up getting the car impounded and crushed, then it will become one of them old cars that everyone hides in the back shed under a tarp collecting dust for the next 50 years
good to see a tassie here :D
This is the perfect video for me as a first car buyer in qld where p plate restrictions are strictest.
Hey I’m 15 atm and am looking to start a job soon, I know it’s early but I’m seriously considering buying a gt for my p’s as well. This was a great reference point, and I enjoyed the video. Liked and subscribed.
I got a job when I was 13 and saved my money. When you get to the stage of buying a car you'll need to consider the ongoing costs (insurance, rego, fuel, tyres, servicing etc.) Just something to consider for a first car as most kids don't earn much
Yeah probably recommend staying away from it until you're a bit older Mika. The R34's can be pretty expensive to run with all the rego, insurance, fuel, tyers, etc as Jock mentioned. For a first job you won't earn enough to maintain the car well enough until you're working full time.
2 years later bro how it go ?
Iv got 2 kids and it’s not practical, but I can deal with struggling to get them in the back because the car is so much fun to drive. I’d have the skyline over a golf any day! Nice honest video tho 👍
just buy another car
Time for a 4 door?
You can get a 4 door 👍🏻
Nice one man, love the drive up Gorge Road.
I drove on those exact roads, I live up at the tea tree gully area, been all through the hills, and from what I can recognise, I believe the first bit of the video was down at Elizabeth area possibly
haha mate!!! I've seen you driving around in adelaide before! definitely the cleanest r34 non gtr build i've ever seen, I'd love to own one like you some day!
Clean car dude! I daily drove my slammed s13 for a couple years in SA as well. Arguably not as cool but similar fun ❤️
Hey awesome. I live in QLD and I’m looking to get a skyline too. One of the main reasons I’m persuading my parents is that the are pretty likely to appreciate. They’ll be available to import for Americans in 5 years and with the reputation this car has... its not going to decline at least
Hey mate, great video! Just wondering as to what you had to replace and how much you spent on the car after buying it?
Can't drive a turbo until age 25, some cars are exceptional such as some diesel, there is a way to find out which car is an exception on some website you can look up your car on.
That "No turbo until 25" only applies to some states. You can drive turbos in Western Australia from the moment you get your P plates at age 17. We have a lot P platers driving Lamborgini's and Ferrari's around here (most likely their rich parent's cars lol).

er34/r34 sedan: am i a joke to you?
I like the looks for the HR34 4 door skyline more than the ER34 even though they do look very similar
For anyone wondering about the conversion factor it’s about 23miles/gallon
Honestly a supercharger is alot better than a turbo. But the thing is everyone thinks that they can handle a twin turbo skyline and they come off as childish or immature. Face it most people only like the skyline for the legend of the car basically for the potential. They want braging rights and to look cool theyvwant street cred and others approval. This kid is unbiased and honest. Good video. Its not about the power its about the expirience. A stock lotus will outlap a skyline in a twisty road tbh. But Everyone needs a messiah i suppose but eventually hes getting nailed up and how you handle that is a mark of your maturity.
A Lotus is/might be a different car class.
Hey mate the car sounds amazing, just wondering because your engine is stock how did you get it to sound that good, is it just the exhaust system you have ?
Yeah exhaust makes all the difference when it comes to sound from back :-) Sure you can spot u Turbo on GT-T(and even that every turbo sounds different) but 95% of the sound is from the engine and type of exhaust :-)
Richard Hašek oh okay makes sense thanks a lot
@@charlielatta4004 No problem...you can watch some videos on 25GT sound(no turbo with RB25DE) and even with "cheap" exhaust or small mod they sound so good.
Richard Hašek yeah I will thanks for that, I own a 25gt with a stock engine because I’m only on p’s and I was wondering if I got an exhaust system put in if it would make it much louder
Nice :-) Want one too but iam from another part of the world and getting any type of Skyline here is hard and expensive :-D
when you said that you cant drive turbo engines, isnt the GTT a single turbo engine?
sounds pretty similar with a bmw m50b25 engine which is also a 2.5 straight six
nice first vid!
To me the best sounding engines (stock anyway) are the RB26 and the RB25DE. Idk why but I feel the N/A RB25 sounds so much more aggressive!
I’m split on spending extra to get a manual or a automatic because where I live has lots of Hillsong I can imagine manual would get annoying for daily driving
I’m getting what you have but putting gtr exterior and a t78 turbo on it
Ngl I'll take a gtt any day but if I ever get the chance to buy a gtr vspec or a standard model I'll take that
I think the r34 would make a sweet summer car
at this point idec if it doesn’t have crazy tuning i just want one 😭

man, I'm more used to American muscle cars but damn, i would love to drive a JDM once in a while

How did you go with getting insurance on the car?
I had a r32 gts auto (rb20de) coupe and it was the savvyest car to have in my teens, would bro/lusty load it to go to the partys out in the farm lands many a time. never had a reliability issue with it either and good i gave it a hard time. interestingly enough now 8 years on and i have a 34 gtt manual coupe and the impracticalitys are getting in the way, lack of space, manual in traffic, fuel economy, worry about it getting stolen ect..
BTW what rims are those on your 34? they look savvy im after a set
Btw if you don’t like the 2 door version
Why don’t you get the GT-T 4 door sedan version they are still cool
Like the two door r34
how do you get your 34 to sound that good, mine just dosent sound right
Sounds like you didn't take out the limiter and put in a hks sld in ( why it's so slow ) you complained about coilovers knowing it'll stiff up your suspension ( why didn't you take them out )
if ya dont mind me asking, where did you buy the car? I've been looking everywhere and can't find them especially in manual
Jp imports like 4k
Nissan approved fluids are great for servicing the car using unleaded for gas for your car
Rusted Scope7 approves

How was it bro good car ?
@@massimocampanella5228 hey man, i since upgraded to a R33 GT-R. The R34 NA or the GTT doesnt really have that good of a chassis and it requires alot of money to make it perform like a modern car would out of the box.

It would be different for my country and yours my friend :)
There are a few costs to you.

- insurance and transport costs
- taxes / customs fees
- port charges
- the Headlamps are modified for driving on right based steets (apart you life in GB, Australian)
- Main examination
I bought a R34 GT-T 4 years ago from Japan and shipped it to Germany. You find great GT-T´s in Japan for 12.000 - 30.000 Dollars. Depending on how many miles/kilometres (only the car).
