Bob's reaction when he opened the slip is what makes him the best game show host in history. To be able to pivot like that to a story that drags things out is absolutely perfect.

There were certainly more contestants winning big amounts of money in Punch A Bunch with Bob Barker than there were with Drew Carey. With Drew Carey, the amounts seem to be much lower.

I kind of wondered if Bob ever/always knew where the big winners are in games like Punch-a-Bunch. I mean I could see if it was a game where you were trying to guess the price of a car, he may know ahead of time, but with ones like this one, does he actually know where the $10,000 and 5,000 sits or is it done randomly by one of the assistants?
Also I wonder if the show is partially paid for by the company's whose products appear on the show (like Bissel). I wonder if that's where some of the funding comes from, and through "donations" from companies like Ford and Chevy for the larger items, like cars. I mean part of me seems that people tend to win a lot of money on this show fairly easily, even for big ticket items like cars, and I couldn't see a seat costing someone more than $100 per person at most.... I'm sure selling the show to broadcasting companies also generates revenues which helps pay for the prizes. I mean I Know that someone has probably done the math and they have stats to tell them that a certain percentage of people will only win a certain amount of money (either in prizes or cash) and that say 40% of the prizes are not claimed (due to contestants not winning the games) each episode.
I also find it a bit amusing that with cars, they tend to give away the base model vehicle.. don't get me wrong, a "free" car (not including the usual tax and title and licensing fees) is a free car, but it always seems that they are the base model. Either way, if I won one, I'd still take it.

I was thinking the same thing. I know back then and for much of the 80s they had the white font $10,000.00 graphic with the border that looked like a tank or Snowcat drivetrain with the decimal point and the two zeroes, that was also used in other cash games and the showcase showdowns. I was surprised not to see it here...
