I think it's the way he left. He had a great 2022 season and was on track to be great again in 2023 until he got injured. But even then he had all the goodwill in the world. The coach wanted him back, the fans (mostly) wanted him back. But instead of accepting that he's 36 and going with a year-to-year contract, he broke league rules to make sure he was out the door with a huge contract on day one of free agency. That's why he got boo-ed. And boy is Atlanta learning about him the hard way.
