Easiest way I've found to produce frosted glass is by using wire wool or a fine sandpaper on clear plastic. You can easily change the opacity of the frosting by repeating the process until the required result is obtained.
Tumblehomes, can be created far easier and more rapidly, using a metal rod, around 1 inch diameter. You simply roll the rod up and down the inside of the brass side (before adding any detail) until it curves nicely to the correct shape for that type of vehicle. It's a bit like rolling pastry !! Cutting plasticard is far easier and more precise if you use a Swann Morton (Surgeons) Scalpel with No 10A or No 11 blades. Scalpels being much sharper than any craft knife or Stanley knife !!

Another helpful note. I've recently realised many modellers are unaware that the Bachmann 57ft versions of the suburban non gangwayed Mk1's, were "short", because they were intended for use through the narrow & sharply curved tunnels under St.Pancras & Kings X stations (known oddly as the "Widened lines"). So the 57ft types were effectively confined to suburban services around North London. The Western, Southern & Midland Regions had the longer 63ft (10 compartment) variant used in other locations across Britain including Birmingham. The 63ft version is still available from the manufacturer Replica Railways (they have a website), although it's now sold in "self assembly" clip together format, in either green or maroon livery & very reasonably priced.
Incidentally many of the 63ft (long version) didn't survive that long, & by the end of the 1960's many were being converted into "Motorail car flats", as they were being replaced by swarms of DMMU's !

Very nice indeed...so much more realistic, than plastic-bodied RTR stock.. Such a pity those 1st Class yellow strips have to be so broad & dominant. Guess one could tone them down somewhat with a bit of extra weathering. Thanks for the great video.

there's probably no difference in it but I always found if I chuck those cand of primer in a sink of warm(not to hot) water for 5 minutes before painting comes out a bit nicer. Think I started doing it with clear coat for guitars and it just stuck as habit but you might wanna give it a go and see if it makes the primer go on any nicer.

Great video and a great result. Is there a reason why you couldn't just cut out the window area of the coach and leave the rest of the lower bodyside there for added strength? I appreciate you would probably have to do some sanding to make it flush. Just curious as I doubt I will ever have the patience, nerve and talent to do it myself!

What actually holding the body to the chassis here? I’ve just got my kit and there aren’t any clips like on the original coach body? Thanks!
Friction! When I put the body back on it was a tight fit. A Little bit of force needed to get into correct position. Once there, I just left it.
Might be possible to make some lugs on the body side to clip into seating if turns out too loose!
