    Another enjoyable watch. I use wood chisels when I'm folding in much the same fashion as you do

      Never thought of that. Great idea. My Brother in Law, a horologist, engineer and tool maker made me a folding jig for tapered signal and lamp posts (I make commissioned working lamps). The chisel idea is great! Thanks for mentioning it.

      @@bobsmodelrailways hi Bob. It's always good to share info. I'll have a lamp in return (joking). I've been a precision engineer for decades but never stop learning from others

    Happy New Year Ian! There's something incredibly hypnotic about watching solder flow into those folded corners! I'm an N Scaler, so etched bogies are beyond my eyesight, but love to watch a master in action.

      Not possible without my magnifying lamp thing!! Solder flowing into corners is very satisfying 😃

    Great video, got to watching a lot of your videos recently and they're good to watch and learn a trick or two, especially with your weathering. Happy new year!

    2 questions, if I may. What solder & flux do you use?

    • @Wallsrail
      @Wallsrail  2 года назад

      60/40 tin Lead Alloy
      22 SWG (0.7mm)
      with flux core
      Bought 2 500g reels many years ago, from I can't remember where??? Might've been Squires Tools??
      Got 3/4 of one roll left, so should do me a few years more!

      Not from MJT (dart castings).
      Could be from other manufacturers?
