I got a light pad at the $Tree Plus section for $3. No on off switch, it stays on as long as it is plugged in. It is very similar in size to your $11.99 one. Works well.
Love your video, its clear as a bell with no music to try hear you over plus you have put the info high at the top of the screen, so if you pause its not blocked by any thing thank you so much. Keep the video’s coming.
Thank you for taking the time to share such an informative and, in my opinion, useful video. I have been diamond painting for the last 6 months, so it was good to see the various products. 😊
When I was young I was a needlepoint fan. I did some very large projects and the canvas and thread were very expensive. I am a senior citizen now. I am extremely happy with Diamond painting kits. Thank you for this video.
I usually buy from diamond art club, dreamer designs, or Craftibly which are on the higher end of diamond paintings but they have wonderful quality and designs. I also bought some trays from Etsy that I love and have about 20 pens I have bought from Etsy, Amazon and DAC. Admittedly I have spent quite a bit of money for my hobby but I absolutely love it. I love watching your videos and like to see some of the other companies to try.
Thank you for the awesome, informative video. I'm fairly new to diamond painting, however, I'm already doing the other craft which is, collecting supplies for this craft😉. Thank you again, enjoyed your video
Joanns fabric has organizers exactly like the Elizabeth warden .. pretty sure they are the same size. The one with the multiple sizes was 39.99 but I waited for a sale and got it for $25 I believe. Got a second tray with 80 of the small containers for $22 with coupon. Just a heads up trick for anyone dying for those trays!!
Harbor freight has some good containers too, a 24 container ser for 4.99, but my favorite is the small containers I get from family dollar, 8 for a dollar
I'm so glad this popped up! It was really well thought out and informative! I especially loved your comments and the pop ups......excellent video!! Looking forward to seeing more!!
After getting many of the 5D paintings on sale for $10 or less at Christmas. I started doing them and by the end of number two begin number three I started to get upgrades in my equipment so a cheap but better pen, pourable trays, storage, I had used baggies but I went to the pills section and got individual pill ziplocks which are wider and easier to pour into and have room to label them. I also got museum wax so all of this was "cheap" but worth it for Tools and I did get a box of the tic tac like holders. Then I got more diamond paintings from Ali and since I have never ordered from there I will see how it goes. Also got more of the multi placer ends after watching some suggestion videos as I was ordering larger projects.
just came across your channel and I must say, I love your content! I get your humor and like your design choices. Thanks for giving us a video that shows all that diamond painting has to offer. I like that it's not too heavy with Diamond Art Club (nothing wrong with them, but it seems like EVERYONE is on that train) I love that you broke everything down, and while yes, we can use what comes in the kits to finish a canvas, it's nice to showcase all the accoutrements that are offered by so many talented people! Through you I also found some great companies to try in the future, side note, I bought my first Craftibly canvas and upon first glance I'm happy with it, and I can't wait to get started on it! Thanks for your videos and great advice!!
I think paying a more premium price for lisenced images is well worth it. You not only help support various artists, get higher quality images, and you don't risk purchasing stolen artwork and supporting that.
I'm on a major budget so $20 for a 20*20cm is not worth it. I can get them for as little as around $3 also the 'diamonds' aren't squares. I also found bookmarks, coasters some of which are holiday gifts, which I looked up and wouldn't have been able to get them if I purchased from Amazon or any other store... They probably order from Temu anyway and Jack up the price
New addict. I absolutely stalk Amazon and Ali Express for inexpensive budget friendly dp kits. I recently purchased my first custom from Royal DP. It almost cost me $60. I got six dp kits for Christmas and now I finished all but one. I probably have about 4 en route to me and six on standby.
I tend to be a bargain hunter so I have some nice trays but in unusual, discontinued colors! I have had good luck with Amazon pens. I still use the pink wax but am always on the lookout for a better type. I do like the glue dots as an alternative. My favorite working storage contains are from Harbor Freight. Love the big openings. I am going to try your “ranch dressing” idea. Enjoy your videos. Look forward to your future postings. Stay cool.
I finally started a diamond painting that a friend gave me at least a decade ago (I think it was a pretty new craft then?) and all my kit came with was a green tray, horrible plastic baggies, and a pair of tweezers!
BEST video ever!! I watch way too many hours of DP based videos, and this was awesome!! I only wish I saw this about 300 dollars ago, LOL!! In the beginning I tried many different sites for kits, my fav is Tinmi Arts. I even tried a DAC (on sale with discount code), in my opinion they are way over rated. Got2Dot was a good one too. Keep up the great videos, this old hippie lady loves your style, with the pop ups. Cute!
I am a beginner. But, with poor eyesight. So, I invested on a light pad. I never would see some of the color that blend in. I also invested in a container to put my drills in. Because, I spill things. Right now I’m using jewelry bags to kit up. My after storage is a big bad to put my jewelry bags of drills in. I also got a cart to store my stuff in. I am only on my first piece. I’m obsessed.
Just finished my first painting. Like you I have poor eyesight, being blind in one eye. I am thinking to get a light pad but wonder if it washes out the painting. How well does it work for you? To bright, washed out, anything? For myself with no light pad I had to limit my painting to "good eyesight" days 😊
That tray with finger holes from Wilson3D is the best..especially for someone like myself with arthritis!!! Awesome video!!!!💜💎💜 I spend mostly on Large quality Diamond Paintings and storage. Loved this video. I just use the pink pens and I have a tray like yours that I use. I also use the pink wax it all works just fine for me. I spend my money on the DP’s. 40x50 is my favorite size but I do have some big ones. I have one from Craftibly that’s 79x108. Not sure when I’ll get to it. I will not being doing that again.
This is a great informational video Kim, great job! I wish this would have been around when I got started. Omg you cracked me up with "skinned muppet" that one is going to stick with me now😂 I still love that tiger DP from royal crown diamond. I can't wait to see it completed! I prefer to spend my money on the diamond paintings but sometimes I do splurge for a nice pen or a tray.
Hahah! It totally feels like skinned Muppets! I understand people like the flexibility but the feel just creeps me out!! Thanks for sticking with my channel!😁❤
This was a great episode!! I am disabled and can't do the crafts I used to but. I can do diamond painting. So I have to and want to stay on the low side. I have used only the pink pens until I realized that they split. I went through 6 in 5 months. So I am having a pen made with the steel tips. So that is the one thing I splurged on. All my paintings are the low ed same with the wax and trays. ❤️❤️❤️
I am the same After a stroke I can no longer do the crafts I used to do. A friend told me about diamond painting, I ordered a cute one to do for my granddaughter, and I was addicted to dp for life. I can't afford the expensive ones but I love finding beautiful one to do. I don't think I could do a huge one. 12 x 16 is about all I Cando before getting bored.
Fantastic! I purchased the 60 grid storage case from AliExpress and the zipper was broken☹ At $11.99 though it was a gamble. In general, I have really good on AliExpress and if I were to average out costs I'm sure I'm ahead of the game! Thank you so much for watching!😁
@@KDiamondPaints the packaging to protect the parcel in transit to Australia was fantastic! It was surrounded in about 2 layers of that long pocket style bubble wrap, one layer in each direction. Can’t fault the seller…l cam msg you the seller
Just started into diamond painting. Of course just before pay day. Saw your video after getting my first one at Michael’s. Went to Amazon and ordered 2 more 🤣🤣🤣
This was huge fun!!! It seems ridiculous to some of us the cost of some of these licensed art paintings, but there are a lot of people who want to go that route. I say, to each her own. Its your money, do what you want. I like the lower cost diamond paintings and accessories, because that gives me the chance to have more in my stash. I have completed @ 55 paintings so far, and I've only disliked 2 (one of which went in the trash). Some are better quality than others, but the one I loved the most and had the best drills from was $11.95 (tax included) from Amazon, a seller named TWSOUL (even above Dreamer Designs, DAC and EverMoment). Thank you so much for sharing!
Loved the video and comparisons. Thank you for your time to compile this informative explanation. I think sometimes people new to diamond painting watch some of the creators sites and get scared price wise to start although many of them do added “ this is all you need to start”. So this was a great discussion of what you can begin with and advance to.Peace and love reside withe you💕
Great video and yes I think we All stared with the simple tool kit but then we watched the RUclips creators and we went to down the hole but everyone has different needs, just do what makes you happy right
just started, bought a cheap one from an online seller...if I ever get serious in it, I would go for pens and storage...I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to storage hehehe...
There are some really beautiful pens out there but they can be really pricey. I have purchased some really nice ones from Amazon at decent prices. Thanks for the video, really enjoyed how you explained the tools of diamond painting.
You can get a box filled with, what looks like, tic tac boxes for your drills and that comes with small white labels that stick on the top for £11:99 there's like 48 boxes in the box- enough for the really large projects.
Very informative; I've just purchased my first three (small) canvases, just to see if I have the patience for this. TEMU has gotten into diamond painting tools,, so I was able to purchase some nice ones for very little!! I did, at the suggestion of another RUclipsr, purchase a tabletop easel with storage drawer (amazon) for $28, which is probably more than all the other tools - including light pad - combined.
Add postage to Australia on those pieces and the price gets into anything around AU$150+, plus from my experience more expensive does not equal better! Thanks for sharing.
Wow. Postage is nasty! I couldn't agree more that price does not equal better quality. It does mean licensed art but, if you are purchasing public domain images- cheaper works just as well! Thank you so much for watching!😁
Hi! Welcome to my channel and diamond painting! AB stands for Aurora Borealis- it is an iridescent coating on the drills that give them a little extra sparkle! Thank you so much for watching!😊
I spend more on storage than any other category. I like my screw type bottles in cases. I have little or no spillage. I can't picture working out of baggies! I do have some of the storage you showed...28 cubes in one container for small projects. Otherwise I'm pretty much a minimalist!!! Enjoyed your video!

❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you for making this video. I very much enjoying doing Diamond Dots 💎 😌 ☺ Pictures at discount price . I'm interested in the others companies that will come soon 😊😊😊
Hi! Not really. I have one I made for my husband and had professionally framed and I sealed a couple of areas with the Tombow glue- that's it. Thank you so much for watching!😁
I prefer not to spend money on unnecessary things- no custom wax or pens. The only things that I bought extra are the same large white boat and A4 pad (similar to yours). I love them and I don't need anything else. I even use one of the pink pens.
Walmart on the app has some good deals to on organizers and pens. I bought a $10 organizer and $10 pen with multiplacers. I actually prefer the pen from Walmart than the fancy $15 one off Amazon with metal tips
Love love love this video. Big fan on yours. I have a mixture of high end and middle. Like you, I go for color most of the time and found some of the lower end are really good. I’ve been disappointed on some of the higher end companies which is frustrating. One thing you didn’t mention is micro glue dots. Love the glue and highly recommend.
Love my light pad!!! So far I've only bought the cheapest pens and very happy with them. I perfer to write with thicker pens so I knew getting one would be a good idea. I use the big blue tray with the skinny pen holder. I just use baggies and very happy with that method. Got a holder at $1 store. Works great for me. Recently bought some wax, Whoa!!! I like that!!! You can get good knock offs of Elizabeth Ward for much cheaper. Diamond and Washi knows where to order. I bought my first few from $1 Store!!! I 💚💚💚 $1Store!!! Take care and have fun!!!🌈🌞🌈
This is really interesting, great idea. Pens are the one thing I feel was a "why did I wait to get one" for me. I am much less fatigued with a good pen but as you pointed our, it isn't necessary to spend the cost of an expensive diamond painting on one. I did my first maybe 3 paintings with the same free pen from a $12 Amazon kit. My Wilson3DDesigns trays are my favorites, I'm notorious for spilling drills and the lids are a thing. Storage...psht. Such a personal preference!! I did my first painting out of baggies and thought that was fine until I found my fave storage which have screw top lids. I hate the Elizabeth Ward ones, those didn't work for me at all!! Very unpopular opinion. At the end of the day, you find what makes it best and most enjoyable for you. There's no one right thing or way. And one other thing...thats another Tiger, K. 🙃 I love tigers, I want that. 😍 Thank you for this, it was fun to watch!
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment! I agree, everyone has a different method and that is awesome! The Tiger is too good! Thank you so much for watching!😊
More companies need to send the diamonds in the resealable baggies they're a life saver
your right, some company put the drills in a ziplock bags.just incase my containers not enough to keep each colour.
The amount of research you compiled here for me and every other viewer is phenomenal. Thank you for your service 😂

INSTEAD OF WAX... You caN ise BLUE TAC ... one tiny dip lasts for WEEKS! You don't need to dip every few minutes...
Where to purchase blue tack?
Woolies ...Coles ...Office works ... any crafts shops basically most places I only use Blu Tack to its the best I'm in Australia
Like poster putty?
@dori.32 to my knowledge blue tack is just a good brand name of any poster adhesive
Doesn’t work for me
Great video! A hack for the large white tray you are using at the end - push a piece of squishy in the spout as a stopper. 😃

They have the condiment containers at the dollar store.
Perfect! Thank you for letting me know!😁
Thank you for sharing l love you big white tray this I found very interesting and helpful
Awesome! I love being helpful!❤ Thank you so much for watching!😁
I have a question does your drill placement improve when you do more of them
Literally thumbs upped at 20 seconds and followed that was great.. ok to watch video
I’m concerned I got a canvas diamond painting from Amazon and my little symbols do not have circles around them I hope I can still do this
Highly recommend getting the $20 storage kits it keeps everything in place and stuff won't stack up
My money goes into diamond paintings. Second is my must haves, a light pad and a few Harbor Freight containers. 👍
I forgot to add Harbor Freight containers! Thanks for mentioning them!👍😁
This was very informative thanks
Thank you so much for watching!😁
Thank you for sharing this information! It was very informative and helpful!😃😃
Thank you so much for watching!😁
Add postage to Australia on those pieces and the price gets into anything around AU$150+, plus from my experience more expensive does not equal better! Thanks for sharing.
Wow. Postage is nasty! I couldn't agree more that price does not equal better quality. It does mean licensed art but, if you are purchasing public domain images- cheaper works just as well! Thank you so much for watching!😁
What are ABs?
I’m a newbie and obsessed with this hobby. Can you tell me what ab’s are please? Lol I think that’s what you are calling them.
Hi! Welcome to my channel and diamond painting! AB stands for Aurora Borealis- it is an iridescent coating on the drills that give them a little extra sparkle! Thank you so much for watching!😊
Thank you for this!
Thank you so much for watching!😁
I spend more on storage than any other category. I like my screw type bottles in cases. I have little or no spillage. I can't picture working out of baggies! I do have some of the storage you showed...28 cubes in one container for small projects. Otherwise I'm pretty much a minimalist!!! Enjoyed your video!
Could I get the link for the cover plate for the light pad please
There are a few different options, here is the link to one www.etsy.com/listing/1011077210/light-pad-power-switch-cover?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=diamond+painting+light+pad+cover&ref=sr_gallery-1-2&organic_search_click=1&cns=1
Nice greetings and best wishes from Austria. Thank you for this great video!
Hey Austria! Such a beautiful place! Thank you so much for watching!😁
❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you for making this video. I very much enjoying doing Diamond Dots 💎 😌 ☺
Pictures at discount price . I'm interested in the others companies that will come soon 😊😊😊
Itsy? Or did you mean Etsy (eh-ts-E)
*Hello, I'm your 773 Thumbs up. Great Share & I loved your editing!!! 😍😍😍* Sharon in SC
Very informative! Do you put any coating on your paintings when finished? Thanks
Hi!
Ah, great minds!! I use the pink pens with a grip on them from the Dollar Store! Thank you so much for watching!😁
Walmart on the app has some good deals to on organizers and pens. I bought a $10 organizer and $10 pen with multiplacers. I actually prefer the pen from Walmart than the fancy $15 one off Amazon with metal tips
Hii i just ordered one diamond painting from Amazon and it will be my first diamond painting idk how I'm gonna get it am lil scared about it
Love love love this video.
Hey! Thanks for the hot tip! I just use the pink wax. I'll have to check it out!
Beautiful 🌹Absolutely gorgeous!
140 X 140 CM Oh! That could fit in my foyer
WTF!!!
😂😂😂
I love the Dollar Store for cheap storage and containers! One of my first videos was about cheap diamond painting supplies from there!😁
@@KDiamondPaints $1Stores and ordering from a cheap place are kinda the same thing, ya know in a way!?! $1 Store is just so awesome, though!!!😉 🌈🦄🌈
I just kit up in the zip bags then put them for each painting in a quart zip lock bag
My canvases/kits have ranged from $3 to $7 to $66. Diamond painting can be affordable but can also be so expensive
Great thanks for showing these 🥰💎🥰💎🥰💎
Hi! Thank you so much for watching!😁
