Congrats! SO exciting! It’s so fun renovating a house (a bit stressful but worth it)! I would say plan on at least 6 months for a renovation of that size (speaking from experience)…. It could take 12+ for it to be TOTALLY finished, but I’m sure you would move in before that. You will love it!

The previous homeowner definitely did not care about your savings. I’m sure he was just using that as an excuse for you not to renovate the home. He probably wanted a young couple so that they wouldn’t have enough money to renovate. 😮

ID here, one thing I always remember in school was my teacher saying “nothing ever goes according to plan” and oh boy is it true. Most times gotta go with the flow and come up with solutions as they come. Construction almost always takes longer than expected especially during renovations bc they usually find things during demo, furniture + plumbing usually has long lead times, etc etc - but in the end its always fun to see ur vision come to life and its all worth it:) excited for u and Leif 🎉
