Slowing down the game and working on the finer stuff really does help with things like war. Doing wars on 5 speed might be faster but it can cause lots of headaches because of simple mistakes like that

As an african it's fun to think of a united african empire that can have access to its own resources. How different history would be if this had actually happened.
That would involve a lot of blood 🩸 and tears 😭 to gain the crisis shock ⚡ necessary for reforms and boosts to sensibility to mimic the conditions of the rest of the world's powers 💪. Less so with a lot of polygamy.
Slavery wouldn't have happened, or it would have happened in a much smaller size than it did, because tribes would have worked together to repell the invaders and not tried to enslave their rivals and made money off it Also, having the ability to collect resources and riches with that size, could have resulted in a country similar to India. It's very romantic and nice to think how that could have happened. An african empire of that magnitude would be beautiful.
36:57 if you had captured the red parts of the war target then you would have kept those aswell as the dejure africa borders and could have gotten all of it in one war. There was a malinke-kru hybridization and when a hybrid touches the original cultures they naturally spread and can completely kill the original culture. You being Kru you can actually still hybridize if you liked certain things about your original culture.
Uniting Africa is pretty time consuming, but it's not actually as tough as it looks thanks to the gold mines and lots of your opponents being pretty weak. Taking over Tibet starting as a count felt much more miserable, despite the smaller land area; the lack of income really makes it feel like your never getting anywhere.
Your Men at Arms are considered to be at your capital. So when you raise them a continent away, it takes them a while for them to get there. You could move your capital, but it is probably better to just deal with it.
"Alkebulan" isn't the original name of Africa. It means "Land of the Blacks" in Arabic. The idea of it being "the original name" is a pseudohistorical concept invented by various African American groups in the US. There was never a name for the entire continent, indigenous or otherwise, until "Africa" (originally the name of a Roman province whose origins are unknown).
Africa was the name that the Romans used to describe Tunisia and parts of northern Algeria Also as an arab that speaks arabic natively I assure you that the word Alkebulan is not of arabic origin
You were so close lmao, Alkebulan doesn't exist in Arabic, Black rights groups that played with Islam and Arab culture like they were toys for their own use tended to just make shit up and slap an Arab label on it to give it an air of legitimacy
Alkebulan is not an “original” name for Africa, there is no historical evidence to suggest this whatsoever. It was most likely appropriated by notorious anti-Semite and pseudoscientist Yosef Ben-Jochannan in 1972, as the only other reference to it is in Thevet’s 1575 work “Cosmographie Universelle”. At most it is Arabic (although “kebulan” is not a word in Arabic), but it’s most likely pseudo-Arabic and means nothing. Even assuming that it is Arabic, it wouldn’t be an original name either since Arabs aren’t native to Africa as they invaded and conquered North Africa in the 700s. “Africa” is a better name for it in my opinion, as it was at least created by Carthaginians during Roman times. The concept of modern Africa as a continent wouldn’t even have existed a long time ago, as they had no way of navigating past the jungles in central Africa or through the dangerous waters of Cape Bojador. I just thought someone interested in history would like to know this.

The "Unite Africa" desicion in my opinion is a massive failiure. For collecting all that land, withstanding crusades and jihads, all you get is a nickname and 750 prestige... It doesnt even give you a de-jure empire over all the land you've collected with a unique name or anything, you literally just get a nickname. The unite slavs descisions are way better cos at least they give you techs and de-jure overlordship. The worst part is that this is literally THE ONLY unique descision african rulers get

United half of a continent
Also 33 percent chance for each county to flip to your religion
It's a crime that the decision gives you only 750 prestige lol. It should be a lot of renown like for the Iberian struggle
My biggest complaint about this massive effort is that it doesn’t create a giga empire. You can do it with the Roman Empire, why not Africa?
You can mod it very easily tho, there is probably at least one mod that does this
There's no pan-European empire either. False equivalence.
Also, the Roman Empire was real, and has an historical reason to exist.
