Love love love! Honeybee Hollow Garden made a huge trellis system using cedar tree logs...but I was thinking something like that would be an excellent shade type source for your garden and would be so natural and beautiful. Here in North Texas I bought a black shade cloth that I put up over about a 12' x 12' section of my garden. It helps so much!

Love all your design ideas and inspiration! I came across your channel about 3 years ago, searching gardening videos for layout design ideas. Yours is my favorite out of all the channels out there. We live in zone 9 here in southwest Texas. My property tends to flood in the spring depending on how much rain we get so I've had to learn to add in raised beds. I've lost a lot of plants from root rot and got frustrated but never wanted to give up on gardening! I grew up learning from my grandparents market gardens. They had 3 acres and used a tractor to plow rows then plant rows of corn, okra, squash, tomatoes, beans, peas, catalogue, melons, cucumber and more. My grandma grew up in Alabama 💜, just north of Mobile and married my Grandpa who grew up in Round Top Texas. They moved to this area, raising 5 kids, chickens and pigs. I have such good memories of spending time with them during the summer. So I'm 42 years old now, have two teenage boys, married to my highschool sweetheart,. We have a few chickens and a dog and two cats. I love the beauty in gardening, the peace it brings, and yours is a dream! 💗 I'm adding medicinal herbs now and learning from you. I have calendula to plant from seedlings I grew, hyssop returned from last year. I seed started yarrow, echinacea and lavender, and just transplanted them in bigger pots earlier this week. You've taught me how to incorporate these beautiful herbs into my gardens. Thank you for all your knowledge you share on your farm and in your gardens! 💕 I hope your bluebonnets take off for you and your gardens do great this year. Wishing you and your family a blessed and Happy Easter! ❤

Hello Tracy...you showed up in my RUclips recommendations awhile ago now. I think because I'm very interested in getting some land and possibly having some kind of a tiny house or cottage on it (your first video I saw was about the Shed/Cottage build you were doing for your in-laws). We are looking at retirement in another 2 years, we currently live in California and will probably be having to move out of state to be able to survive financially after retiring. I have been working on building up my herb garden here, and have been learning to make my own self-care products such as; Calendula Cream Hand Lotion and a Wild Rose & Yarrow Infused Facial & Body soap. I am planting yarrow & calendula everywhere; some borage, lavender, sage, chamomile, and various mints (Pineapple, Chocolate, and Jessica Pear). We are also planting various veggies to get us through the summer & fall months. I have two immune disorders, and that prompted the researching of helpful herbs to combat my various skin conditions, as well as learning more natural ways to deal with the pain I often face with these disorders. I so hope to meet you next time we travel our country, which will probably be summer 2024. Our eldest son recently moved to the Savannah, Georgia area. So, maybe we will pass your area on our way to visit him. Thank you for your wonderful channel, your spiritual encouragement, your herb & homesteading knowledge, and your sweet and gentle ways. Have a blessed Easter and restful weekend. God Bless You ~
