I know this video is years old, but I have watched at least 20-30 different people make bow videos on RUclips, and regardless of what I watched, I was “bow challenged”…I.e., couldn’t make a decent bow no matter what. Even using the Bowdabras, mine just never looked nice. HOWEVER! Watching this video and following your explicit directions, I can now make a bow! I can make a decent bow! I can make a nice bow that I’m not ashamed to put on my wreaths and craft projects! I have saved this video so I can always refer to it for different bows. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! The BEST bow tutorial I have ever seen!

The first one is the Macy's bow....Mr. Macy needed a way to make bows in advance and store them to make wrapping gifts more efficient. So, he invented a V cutter that cuts the V's in the bows......You just tie them off and store them pre-made then, when you need one just get it out, fluff it and add tails!! Quick and simple for his employees! He was a genius of his time!!!! My grandmother used this type of bow in all her clothing stores since Mr. Macy started selling the cutter and bowmaker!!!!! Actually, I think I still own the original cutter and bowmaker from one of her stores. Nice to see someone teaching this easy method!!! It's a lost technique today!!! It will allow you to make ANY bow in advance and store it for later without flattening or bending.

Hello Jessica! That is such wonderful information and I’m so glad to know all of it now. It’s so sweet that your grandmother used this technique in her store and how cool that you own the cutter and bowmaker. This technique is very easy and you’re right about it being so convenient in making bows in advance. Thank you for sharing that story with me and I appreciate you watching, Lori.

Really? That's a great story. When my daughter gets a bit older, I plan on teaching her this method. I love it! and I love that first bow as well. Gorgeous.

I have struggled and struggled to make bows for years! My Mom is a great bow maker, and she tried to teach me, but I could never figure out all the looping and twisting! Lol! But, you are Amazing! You are so thorough with your step by step directions it helped me SO much! My husband is an artist and he brought some ribbon home and with pleading in his eyes asked me to make a bow for some of his art pieces! I panicked a little, but then I remembered I saw a bow tutorial on your channel! So I pulled it up, watched it carefully and just gave it my best try! I was able to make two bows! They aren’t super fancy, but they are what he needed! So thank you, from me and my hubby!💖💖💖

I'm rather new to wreath making. The majority of the skills I have learned have been from your videos. Thank you for your excellent instructions. You have some of the best tutorials out there. You always have great ideas, lots of options, and interesting techniques. Many of the videos out there these days show you a pretty products at the end, but they're very short on the details of how they actually made it. When you're learning, it is all about the details! Thank you so much

Lori, I am a newbie to your blog, I must say, of all the tutorials I have watched your teaching are the best, I can see what you are doing, you are talking about what you are doing. Most have the camera off where you are watching half of what they are doing, they are talking about something else, they are waving there hands and playing with the product, it’s such a turn off, you are quick and educated on what you are showing us, thank you thank you great tut❤️

Aww, so sorry, Pramilia. I know I have people for the UK as well and other countries and they don't have the access to get supplies. So, sorry. But you know what you could try this tutorial and maybe just make it with all fabrics. Make it your own vision, not necessarily you have to have mesh or ribbons. I will show you two of them. Thank you, so much for watching and you are more than welcome if you ever need help. I will send you the links, below. Thank you, Lori.

That is made with tule, which is a type of fabric that is most common to be used in dresses and decorations. The next one is just fabric cut into pieces you could make it in solid colors and add whatever you would like it to have.
