Just in case people missed it, She walks to the front of the stage after, stretches out her right arm that is holding her sticks and then drops her sticks. *BOOM, drops the mic. The stick dropping heard throughout the world. As soon as she sat down at her kit, she knew where she was at. She knew what she was doing. She knew she was going to leave us with a memory. We all forgot she is 11. She showed us that not only she belongs, but she can lead.
Tears. Every. Single. Time. I was 3rd row watching this and I cried then too. Just phenomenal and Taylor beaming as he watched her was icing on the cake. Amazing all around.
I showed my 16 year old aspiring artist/musician the series leading up to this and then the show. She was very inspired. As she walked out of the room she said "Dave is so lucky to have met her." I had to agree with that very profound statement.
Everyone needs some Nandi and Grohl in their life. Her enthusiasm and joy is so beautiful, and couple that with one of, if not the nicest guy in rock and you'd have to have a heart of stone to not feel happier at the end of watching them on stage.
I love watching her play. Her sheer joy and enthusiasm are so infectious. What makes it even better though, is that when she is not being a beast on the drums she is a really sweet, 'normal' kid: a total credit to her mum and dad.
That brought me to tears too. I also watched her dad's video (which by the way has multiple camera angles) as she walked backstage and hugged her brother who was just in tears. He was so proud of her and it showed, as we all were. Fantastic energy, great timing, and she didn't seem phased by the crowd.
Nandi is one of my favorite people on the planet. Her Immense enthusiasm and talent make my heart smile💛This extraordinary youngster was born to be an exquisite drummer.A joy to watcg.
Yeah you know what's almost scary to me about this kid. She's that great and that confident at 11 years old, and it doesn't even look like it's hard for her! We've all seen child prodigy musicians over the years and they're all great, but this kid it's something else.
I know what you mean! I wonder if the difference might not be he parents? With most prodigies, you can feel the parents pushing them, using their kid's achievements to feel better about themselves. But in Nandi's case, the energy for the music is coming from her, and the parents do what they can to support her. For them, it seems to be about family (perhaps they had to go through a lot just to be a couple?). It's the same with the little brother. Thomas is already almost as good an actor as Nandi is a musician. They seem to be receiving a miracle of parenting. With love and no pressure, they can fulfill their talents and feel joy when they do well at their passions.
Nandi's face while she's playing and your face while you're watching her! And then Grohl on top of that. Just awesome. Great reaction and analysis Andrew! RIP Taylor.

Overwhelming is a perfect word for this young girl. This little lady is SO special & wonderful!!!! I get off on her smile and joy as she plays this. It is a good song and she sets it on fire !!!! What a wonderful and talented little girl...
Just came across this a few days back, and watched it a few times. Like with so many others, it always brings a tear to the eye. There is a video on her channel of her going back to the dressing room, with her brother next to her bawling his eyes out he is so proud. Wonderful, and very moving.
Since I heard the terrible news about Taylor, I've come back to watch this performance a few times. Taylor doesn't play on it at all, of course, but how he interacted with Nandi at the end reminds me what a great, genuine guy he was. Damn it.
i don't know if this has been said but she is a professional. Her maturity, character and strength show beyond her years. This star will out shine us all. Much love .

Her performance was flawless Her hands & eye coordination is impeccable, she is a very talented young lady & has a bright future keep up the good work. Let me be the first to say congratulations nandy bushell welcome to the rock & roll hall of fame 🏆🎶🎻🎷🎹🎸
I also like how it was her that pretty much ended the show with the final crash of the cymbals. She didn't go on too long, or just stop when the song initially ended, but she had the awareness to "feel" the right place to end the song and the gig, like she'd been doing it for 20 years..
I almost cried with happiness the first time I watched this performance. Now... it's an absolute rollercoaster of mixed emotions. Especially with Taylor's son also present. She is brilliant and has a bright future ahead of her, but how can anyone else in this video ever be the same? I was having an insanely awesome and memorable day with my 7yo son on Friday, and then we got the news shortly after coming home. I can't imagine his world if he lost me right now, and I have two younger sons as well. Foos as a band aside, I just feel absolutely devastated for the pain and loss that everyone in this video is going through. I won't even speculate about the future of the Foos, but it's probably going to be very rough for a while. Ugh... just so awful... 😢
Your final comment here is particularly spot on. I'm a guitarist, and even *I* want to play drums after watching Nandi. As good as she is, and as good as she's gotten since this, what touches me the most is the sheer joy she has. It's important to be reminded that those of us with the honor to be musicians should share the joy and wonder of it all. I adore that kid!
I know what you wanted to say at the end: a year ago she wasn't that tight at drumming. I mean she knew the song but it felt like she was getting lagging just a tiny bit. Then again she was playing along with the song. This time she was in control leading the band, a year older, must've practiced a lot and she nailed it perfectly. And so confident (I would've dropped my sticks twirling 😄) Edit: and if course having a pink glitter drum kit on the stage@ Foo Fighters 😂

When you watch it from this rear view ruclips.net/video/_AVkGj41RuA/видео.html a non-drummer like me can see that the kick-drum pattern alone would take some mastering. Add to that the 1/16 notes hi-hat work, the energy of the performance, the self-confidence in front of an audience of thousands and a professional band, the physical work she had to put in considering her size ... and she did all that at 11 years old. It's like the rock version of Mozart has just played with the Foo Fighters!
Willing to bet Dave features her in his next documentary. I already cant wait to see the behind the scenes from this night! Nandi posted her scholarship to university to study music so, she starts her college education Monday. She truly was born to be a Rock Goddess!💗
I'd liked Andrew's comment, "Where can she go after THAT?" and had said, "She may keep playing covers for a while. But to become Nandi, she'll need to get past copy-catting and, without doing harm to the spirit of the cover songs, find new ways to reinvent them. . . and she'll have to write songs of her own." But his question was answered by Nandi herself. See her new cover of RS's "Gimme Shelter," done for Charlie Watts: ruclips.net/video/gdu1jVbgRrY/видео.html
That cover is just brilliant. She laid down more tracks than years she was alive. She resisted the temptation to overplay her favorite instument, and that guitar solo she capped it off with was sublime. If the Stones ever do something like Metallica's Blacklist, that deserves a spot as is.
Man, she REALLY played that song tight. It is not easy to keep those 16th notes on the hi-hat clean and precise at that tempo, but I honestly couldn't hear any major flaws in her playing, and she locked in with the band like a pro. I would have frozen in abject, utter terror stepping out onto that stage, whether I was her age or the age I'm at now (43). Good for her! She has a bright future in music if she chooses to pursue it.

Cute kid and she's very talented. Kudos to Dave Grohl. The drum off was cool too when she challenged Dave to a drum off. Really cool if you guys haven't see it.
oh man and Shane is sitting right there with his dad Taylor at the beginning. That is so cool. Nandi is super talented, I hope she keeps at it and plays in a really famous band of her own someday. :)
What I always, always, always come back to when I watch this clip: Look at her SMILE! The joy she's radiating as she's absolutely driving this band is so infectious! And that's before you start to talk about her sheer technical skill...which is absolutely incredible for someone twice, three times her age. She's stunning. I love her to pieces. If you haven't seen her Drumeo vid, where she takes on Twisted Sister, you're missing out. You're a wizard, @Nandi_Bushell! Don't ever stop!
@@arnoldsanders6878 The one she got from Lenny Kravitz and Nate Smith? That thing is beautiful! I don't even play drums. The one Questlove gave her is the one she plays on normally. I think. She has some electrical thing now cuz of her neighbors. I'm a little obsessed. Lol. 🤘🏻🙌🏼🥁
To start I had to watch this 2nd video cuz honestly.i now watch all things NANDI !!! Period...* Shrugs * lol. A week ago I saw the girl,at home I'm assuming. Using a loop machine playing musta been mm 5 instruments ,I think . No sunshine I believe. And it sounded like something..I scratched my head a bit when the damn saxaphone was in play. I mean seriously, it's not fair hahaha. At 11 ok, is this a new marvel hero?? She stops the bad guys with music, or something...sure, sometimes she just goofing around, the girl s 11!!! It's too bad Prince isn't still with us, could you imagine..." Sigh " I hope I'm around to see her first Grammy acceptance speech... Great work on analysis, I like ur style. Keep up the good work. ( Where do I buy a tour shirt ?? Lol)
Andrew, First and foremost this young lady is for real. I love her energy and joy.... Plus she can play the heck out of that drum kit!!!! She has a lot of skill & poise to be so young!!! I love her smile as she plays!!!!! Andrew can you imagine how much better she will be in a few more years. Because she is darn good already!!! Killer is the correct word for Nandi !!! She does have the skills! And that smile!
Killer reaction to a killer performance of Nandi. Thanks Andrew. It seems that every week we are getting treated with great music by young talented musicians. Yesterday the launch of Metallica's Blacklist. I was really astounded that the next song of Alessia & The Warning was arranged, recorded and mixed from different locations in only one week. Again The Warning proves to set the benchmark for modern rock. Enjoy Enter Sandman: ruclips.net/video/9tKQgesCcTc/видео.html.
You're analysis is excellent. YOUR enthusiasm adds to hers! Great to watch you so into it! Ive learned so much about the technical stuff or whatever. I'm not a musician and I love learning more than going by emotion Thanks!
I know I'm a bit late, lol, but great video/reaction! It's nice to see an analysis of this kid's EPIC performance by a drum teacher. Puts a very cool new perspective on it for me, as someone who loves music but hasn't been a musician since my middle school/high school band days (I played alto sax though, not drums, lol). I've always liked the Foo Fighters' music, but ever since seeing the YT videos of how they react to/with fans at live shows, I have a whole new respect for them! Especially Dave and Taylor. Top class humans. I, like many people I'm sure, was gutted when I found out about Taylor's untimely passing. So sad, but it's nice to know his legacy and talent will live on through his son, Shane, and other people, like Nandi!
She was sincerely part of that band. "That band..." The freaking FOO FIGHTERS! She wasn't _just_ driving it. She _did_ drive the Foo Fighters; there were times when she chose the tempo, and the band sped up to keep with her. But there were _also_ times when she was going a bit too fast, and the band dragged a bit, and _she followed them,_ and on a foundational time-keeping instrument, that might actually be _more_ impressive. Both giving and taking cues to and from a professional rock band? The only step up from there to the pinnacle is finding _the_ band and locking up with them. She definitely has a bright future!
The best angle I have found from is Chrisegde channel. Front view and you can see Taylor’s face in the background. I have to say that I loved your reaction.
In the beginning this little pixie called out Mr. Grohl for a drum challenge then he found out she meant business. What a joy it has been to watch them progress to this point. Dave said he would have her on at the end because she was going to steal the show. That and our hearts. Thank you.
Question, she is very good at math and she graduate a grade higher with high distinction (GPA 3.9 or higher) so does math have any bearing on playing the drums, just wondering ?
Drummers do have to count to keep time within a beat. There are different "time signatures" of a song depending on how the song is written. There is the standard 4/4 beat, then there is 7/8, 3/4, 2/4 5/8 and so on. Counting is a huge factor for drummers and simple math plays into all of that.
She is the Messi or Michael Jordan of drums extreme talent..these kind of kids they born maybe 1 in 50 years so go out there and enjoy your god gifted talent and keep on getting better 🤙🏽
I just stumbled on your reactions to this event - and like you I'm completely blown away by her talents. She drove the band like she's played with them for years - you'd have never known there was just one sound check and that was it. Thank you for the technical side of things for someone who loves music but doesn't have the talents to do what these musicians do all day long! Here's a version with different angle (noticed you were interested in Taylor's reactions - lots of visibility of that in this one linked - and seems a good view of her and Dave together through the song : ruclips.net/video/KDpbw9V_fiA/видео.html -- the A/V sync is off just a little - but the visuals are great.
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Have already watched! I promise wasn't expecting another reaction -- you're plenty busy - was more just for your own collection/viewing :) Thanks again!
Not at all! Taylor and Christ were both upset about this but Dave and Pat are in charge of this band! Taylor refuse to stay while they were rehearsing. At the start of the song, you can even see Taylor not smiling at all, until she start twirling her stick, and even then, the smile on his face was more like “who does she think she is!”. But his son, who was at the rehearsal, told him how good she is, so he gave her a chance. As soon as she starts playing, like Andrew, he really start watching. From there, until they stop playing, Taylor really starts enjoying what he was seeing and hearing! He completely changed his attitude at the end, and even took the time to let her know how great she has been! The way he puts his right hand on her shoulder tells a lot! Pat Smear was very happy to see how Taylor finally took it, and even if he never touch her, he really enjoyed the way she played, and how fearless she was. The way Pat looks at her and all her family backstage was his way to let them know how great she was! However, Chris never change his mood, and refused to congratulate her at the end of the song, right after Rami gave her a high five, Nandi quickly realized that he was not willing to do the same! But that guy wanted to be in front for the applauses, and barely put his left hand on her shoulder. I did not really know the Foo Fighters before this event, but let me tell you that I will never follow a guy like Chris Shifflet, no matter how good he is!
Of course, all this is just what I think really happened, you can make your own conclusion, but mine is based on their body language, many observations from different angles and with the backstage footage that Nandi provided.
I can’t say enough how great she has been that night. Even if she never play again on a big stage like that, I will always remember this event for the rest of my life! This moment was just overwhelming for me, and for millions of other people!
@@krystennawomack9724 He was not! Look at different views, and you will see that he has nothing in his hands beside a red plastic cup. Just put yourself at his place, you have been replace by an 11 years old girl for the last song of the concert, and you would take a souvenir of that event? But to his credit, he has recognized her great talent while she was playing, and he was very very kind with her at the end to show her that she was very good drummer. There's no shame to be replaced by a great drummer, no matter how old he/she is! He knows that it was the best live performance of this song since 1997!

C'è poco da aggiungere hai spiegato perfettamente ,sei molto professionale e Nandi è veramente fenomenale.un grande saluto da Roma..🇮🇹🏍️🏍️👍👍
Semplicemente fantastica 🤩🤩🤩
What I always, always, always come back to when I watch this clip: Look at her SMILE! The joy she's radiating as she's absolutely driving this band is so infectious! And that's before you start to talk about her sheer technical skill...which is absolutely incredible for someone twice, three times her age. She's stunning. I love her to pieces.
If you haven't seen her Drumeo vid, where she takes on Twisted Sister, you're missing out.
You're a wizard, @Nandi_Bushell! Don't ever stop!
I am even more impressed with her. Because her kit at home is setup COMEPLETELY different than this one.
Good point!
@@AndrewRooneyDrums = i took notice of that because in my youth in the '80s. I was a roadie for a band, I set up the drums.
Lol. 🤘🏻🙌🏼🥁
@@amandatheyahoo411 the black kit
Lol)
@Vinny Jones I love your comment. It made me smile. Nandi loves cartoons and Teen Titans. PS She wears a cape in some of her videos.😃
When it comes to tempo. Watch the bass player, If he is happy, then I am happy !!!!
I think Nandi is a rock prodigy.
Nandi, amazing.
There is also full official vid in 4K great angle of this show on RUclips. Most inspiring end to the show.
Andrew,
First and foremost this young lady is for real.
I know jack all about music but this wonderful little girl is what this planet needs
50 yo, I have not cried that much ever… in hope
Killer reaction to a killer performance of Nandi. Thanks Andrew. It seems that every week we are getting treated with great music by young talented musicians. Yesterday the launch of Metallica's Blacklist. I was really astounded that the next song of Alessia & The Warning was arranged, recorded and mixed from different locations in only one week. Again The Warning proves to set the benchmark for modern rock. Enjoy Enter Sandman: ruclips.net/video/9tKQgesCcTc/видео.html.
Magnifique👍😘
Dave and his band are awesome
That HAD to have been a seriously intense experience for her. Love it!
Notice Hawkins reaction up on his riser.
Yes Arnold!
@@AndrewRooneyDrums And Pat Smear! He was loving it!
On Nandi’s channel there’s a clip of her playing The Prodigy, which is insane BPM
New sub!!😊❤
Thanks Karla!
You're analysis is excellent. YOUR enthusiasm adds to hers! Great to watch you so into it! Ive learned so much about the technical stuff or whatever. I'm not a musician and I love learning more than going by emotion
Thanks!
Glad to hear it Amanda. Thanks for watching!
Check out her Platinum Jubilee sets at Buckingham Palace. Absolutely stole the pageant
She's a lovely person who happens to be a superb drummer. I think Keith Moon would love to have her internal metronome. 🙂
Absolutely favorite angle of the show.
She's amazing
I think you should do a quick review using her uploaded video.
The best angle I have found from is Chrisegde channel. Front view and you can see Taylor’s face in the background. I have to say that I loved your reaction.
Rock and Grohl.
He is Rock!
@@MetalMcfly Thanks for explaining !
I would love to see her jam with Max and Jay Weinberg.
Right on!
Brilliant!! My eyes water every time I watch this young lady play!! She's brilliant.
So good Paul
Have to be analy retentive to find a mistake in her playing to me she sounded note perfect
Who's out looking for mistakes!?
This is about the vibe and emotion. You're seeing someone achieve her wildest dreams!!
@@AndrewRooneyDrums not looking for mistakes per se just commenting I thought she was note perfect.

@@AndrewRooneyDrums I wast that clear to be honest
I have a dream Nandi Bushell and Casey Bishop will save rock n roll. Let us pray.
I didn’t know if you saw, but Shane was up there with his dad watching Nandi.
She is the Messi or Michael Jordan of drums extreme talent..these kind of kids they born maybe 1 in 50 years so go out there and enjoy your god gifted talent and keep on getting better 🤙🏽
She's smashin' it Steven!
You should check out feeder stereo world.
I've done 2 different angles of this performance! You'll find the other one in the back catalogue
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Have already watched! I promise wasn't expecting another reaction -- you're plenty busy - was more just for your own collection/viewing :) Thanks again!
Taylor knew Nani could deliver at this level.
This moment was just overwhelming for me, and for millions of other people!
...but when Taylor realizes how good she was. He's attitude took a turn.
@@krystennawomack9724 yes, I think your're right, and that's the real great ending of this! Happy New year to you!🥳
Then please tell me why Taylor was filming it with his cell phone.
If I could keep a beat, I'd be a drummer. I swear!
