    Blues in F is the meat and potatoes of Bebop sessions.. As a pianist I was always worried that some guitar person would want to play in E or A. Doesn't feel the same, and doesn't sound the same.. F is jazz! Sure work on all keys..but F, B flat, C and G win!

  • @jkotube100
    @jkotube100 Год назад

    Thanks for the licks but what I’m really after is those bebop enclosures at the beginning when you do the 251 in your little improv at the beginning. Could you break that down?.. I hear basically the same thing in many tunes but it’s too fast for me to get. Also the arpeggios right before that - sounds like you are playing outside or something over the last F and D before the turnaround. I can pick out the notes but I’d rather understand the theory behind it. Thanks!!

    • @jkotube100
      @jkotube100 Год назад

      Just to narrow that down a bit, I get the arpeggios when the bass is descending from Am - and the descending thirds when the bass is on C. All I’m really missing is the enclosures while you are on Gm - it sounds so great amd I can copy yours by rote - but I need a way of conceptualizing that so I can create my own on the fly. Thanks so much

  • @jayswitzer9871
    @jayswitzer9871 2 года назад

    Can you do the same tutorial but instead of regular plain old blues can you make it Oscar specific? and his left hand is similar but arpeggiated and add thirds

  • @terrymiller111
    @terrymiller111 2 года назад

    Your so-called mistake at around 1:52-1:55 was actually brilliant. If you have separate audio, listen to just the playing without your voice over. It was ever-so-slightly outside melodically and rhythmically.

  • @NRclyde

    Nice technique, great licks! The theory is questionable? This is not in the key of C like the music staff graphic says. While it shows the notes you are playing I don't find that graphic helpful. A line in standard notation in the proper key would be very helpful. The licks are awesome! Thank you'

  • @mariolopes4157
    @mariolopes4157 Год назад

    I'm sorry, man, but you should have shown us what you played in the beginning. That's how everyone starts their sessions with. You deviated allot from your teaching also and got egotistic. Try and stay humble and teach us beginners something. Relax we know your a good player nobody is gonna jump in RUclips and take your moment.😂😂😂😂😂

  • @MeWeiWaze
    @MeWeiWaze Год назад

    Yeah, for you beginners, turn away now before you break something and become uninspired. This is flash fast with no notes. Well the notes are there but the not long enough to even pause. Wait, is there some sheet music notes? Went from 100 to 1000. Like a calculus tooter who doesnt know why you dont get it.

  • @albrecht-sebastianwitte-re4280

    Are you using an X-stand for your piano? I made the mistake and watched this video on my 1440p monitor, thus noticing the wobbling of your piano and now I can't unsee it... Argh!
    Cool lesson by the way!
