As a BW fan, I agree. He probably would've had a few more wins by now if he wasn't super emotional and didn't crack under pressure (ie. Spring Dega, Texas), but he has been improving with his stats and it looks like he's starting to get his emotions under control a bit. He's a B- driver who has the potential to be A tier. Most of his missed opportunities weren't on him, but it is very easy to tell when they are. If or when he does get his flaws sorted out, I could realistically *at best* see him having a Biffle or Dale Jr type of career.
Elliott hate is Elliott hate at this point. I get that a small percentage of people find it cool to be the odd one and hate what most others like, doesn’t give any less weird energy. Also, he’s just a driver. Chill. He’s not some almighty being nor does he try to be. He just drives a car for living and that’s who he is acting like. I guess cope haters that people like him? Weird to have ever said that. Also yes, he might be 3rd best on his team. That’s not as bad as you wish so badly for it to be. Hendrick has 3 elite drivers. That’s kind of the norm for them no? Johnson, Gordon, and JR. Johnson, Gordon, Busch (early). Larson, Byron, and Elliott. It’s like Gibbs. Shocker that the 2 most dominant teams in nascar history have elite lineups every year. That’s just crazy. Blasphemous even. Cope. And finally on that topic, you listed a bunch of reasons why people like him and then acted like it was equipment. He’s talented. More talented than you or I will ever be. We both hate that fact and wish we could have some of that talent, but it’s a fact. I respect most every nascar opinion with the exception of hatred towards drivers. I just don’t get that. These guys just go out and drive to put on a show for us fans. Are some dirty, yes. Are some more annoying than others, also yes. But at the end of the day, why hate them for doing what every other driver on that track is doing? Because a large percentage of the fan base likes them? That’s weird. Because a lot of people talk about them? Weird. Because a lot of people support them? Weird. And yes I’ll agree that last year sucked. But I’ll still point out that he got injured and then got back in the car before being fully ready to go. Damn nearly pointed his way into the playoffs and where I’ll agree is that suspension likely is the reason he didn’t get in. He was stupid for that. Down right stupid. Honestly should have gotten a longer suspension because that was extremely dangerous. But to say the season was bad is your way of using his injury against him because you have nothing else. Races a whole season and he’s in and you hate, simple as that. And you gotta stop this narrative of “2022 was just him figuring out the new car before everyone else so that doesn’t make him good.” That’s a terrible way of looking at it. Arguably makes his team better. But forget that because 2023 sucked right? Haters hate. He didn’t even fall off in 2022, just didn’t have the luck needed at Phoenix, he was there. Luck ran out late in the race. That’s racing. Made sense to the nonhaters. Before anyone jumps in claiming I’m just a butthurt Elliott fan. No. I love Hendrick Motorsports. Grew up on that first trip I brought up, Jimmie, Jeff, and Kyle… later replaced by JR and add in Marky Mark. That was the shit to me. Only sponsor I knew of those growing up was Lowe’s so naturally went with Jimmie but he’s retired mostly now, so I just cheer for all of Hendricks cars. Personally would love to see Byron go win it all this year because the kids great and worked really hard for it. But the fact of this comment is it’s just weird to hate a driver because most others like them. And to say he’s not as good as his dad or riding coattails or he shouldn’t even be popular is just as weird. Has a massive fan base so duh yes he’s popular. He’s won a ton of races and a championship, so he’s on track to be as good as his dad. Coattails may have made it easier to get here, but unlikes others, he’s taking full advantage of it and making the most out of his career. Some guys just suck but get ride after ride. Atleast Chase has been deserving of his rides. Stop being weird and stop trying so hard to be different. It’s the wrong energy to want. Long story short, just watch and enjoy the product we get, stop hating so damn much. Or atleast… Cope.

I respectfully disagree about the Elliott take. Elliott is arguably more consistent than Larson and Byron. Yes he is not as talented and upfront during races as much as Larson or even Byron but he usually is there towards the end half the time. And he has already accomplished alot during his career and if this was the Winston format he would be leading the points format ahead of Truex. And 2023 was an off year everyone gets those and he has been doing alot better this year he has the same amount of Top 5’s as Byron, has more top 10’s than Larson, & has a better average finish than both of them. Is he a little overrated? Yes but not to the extent some nascar fans like to make it out to be.
As someone who doesn't like or hate Bubba I agree but I do think if he and 23XI can get their shit together he can make the playoffs every year and get 1 or 2 wins each year
Having been to both Daytona and Talladega, Daytona was incredible, Talladega was mediocre and wildly overrated. Will return to Daytona some day, no interest in going back to Dega at all.
I have been saying this for years. I said he was going to be a champion before he won the truck championship for a less team (HRE) and I was right. If he drove in xfinity for jr or jgr he would definitely had a xfinity championship. He just needed a better ride. The other driver I was really confident about winning a championship in anything was another jr Motorsport driver, brad keselowski. We know how that turned out.
Hendricks best drivers by year 2016-Johnson 2017-Elliot 2018- Elliot 2019- Elliot 2020- Elliot 2021- Larson 2022- Elliot 2023- Byron (elliot out due to leg injury) 2024- we’ll see Larson is an all around talent. But he is very comparable to Larson in nascar. In 2021 elliot was constantly right behind Larson in a bunch of races. It wasn’t like Larson was gone from him. The HMS penalty one isnt true because NASCAR does not run the appeals panel it is high ups from different parts of racing. So saying NASCAR is favoritising Hendrick when they then literally got a 60 point penalty later the same year so thats just not true. And I am not a HMS fan I am a Kyle Busch fan
Funny how the sanctioning body of indycar is okay with them running flat out at Indy at 230 mph, the cars are not as safe, they can get airborne as well. With the tracks aging, if you let them run 670 HP at dega and Daytona, they wouldn't be running wide open through the corner, they having handling issues now restricted as it is. They won't run wide open if they enter the corner at 220 to 230. Unrestrict these things, let the cream rise. To me it's a joke calling the Daytona 500 the biggest race anymore and it changes a drivers life. Does Trevor bane have a job in a car? If anyone can win it I dont look at it as the biggest race. I wish they would unrestrict it.
Late add , while hearing you out on every driver deserves there championship based on the rules there given. With that said Kyle’s 2015 championship or Tyler’s 2018 championship are tied for the worst championships in nascar history. Kyle missed 1/3 of the races and Tyler wasn’t even the best on his team in 2018.
Stage Racing is a product of fans asking for Nascar to have heat races before the races. Nascar tried heat racing in xfinity, it wasnt good so they went to stage racing. Fans are to blame for that. Agree Bubba is a decent driver, not elite but decent. Agree that Chase Elliott is completely overrated. Take your fandom out of everything and see how much Chase Elliott is pushed in advertising, media, and even during the race. Sure he won a championship and thats great but when he finishes back half of the top 20 and hes 3rd or 4th driver they talk to post race, yes it has happened before, then thats a bit much.
Chase Elliott has just been food sped the best cars at Hendrick since 2017. Compared to his dad, he is nothing. If he was truly talented like Busch or Larson, he would’ve done what they did: come back from a hiatus and win a bunch of races and a title. What did he do? Nothing. He’s also very egotistical, that motherfucker relies on his fans to back him up everytime as if he is Jesus Christ himself. He is elite at best but besides that 5 race stretch in 2022 what the fuck has he done? Everyone thinks he’s the king at road courses lmao. Larson, Busch, Bell, McDowell, Suarez and even more are better than him there. Elliott is like Bobby Labonte talent that will only end up with less than 30 wins. Infact, I hate Elliott so much I wrote an entire essay on why I hate him so much for a drama project at school

@racegrubb2152 Yea, but Ryan Blaney didn't get 6 wins, 15 top 5s, 21 top tens, and he was nowhere to be found most of the year
@@Zyairelitboy I get all that and I wish it was still done that way but the rules don't go by that anymore. He made it to the final 4 and then beat those 4 in the last race. The entire field has the same opportunities to make the final 4 and win that race. He got it done so he is a legitimate champion. Jimmie Johnson didn't do all that great in the regular season in some of his championships years, but the last 10 boom here he was. That isn't much different. Also the argument a driver could technically win 35 races and not be champion is highly highly highly unlikely to happen. No one is even going to win 15 races in a season never the less 35 races. Maybe in f1. Too bad for Byron Nascar doesn't go by those rules anymore. Nascar isn't going to get rid of this format sadly. They may tweak it some but I doubt they ever go to a full season points system again
I see it
Elliott hate is Elliott hate at this point.
*YAWN* tldr
@@p1motorsports694 don’t have to read it 🤷🏻♂️ don’t have to like it 🤌🏼 but that doesn’t make it any less weird for grown ass men to hate a driver for…. Driving! Keep hating, I’ll be over here enjoying the race, the team, the season, and most importantly your pain every time Chase does something remotely good! 😊
@@p1motorsports694 also how are you gonna be a grown ass adult with a 1200+ subscriber RUclips channel asking for opinions on nascar and be this bland in your comments when someone disagrees with your crappy takes? Or maybe. . . . . I really just don't care enough because an opinion is an opinion whether good or bad and I just don't have the time to argue with some dweeb in a YT comments section
Also, I don't hate Chase Elliott I just think he's a tad bit overrated
As someone who doesn't like or hate Bubba I agree but I do think if he and 23XI can get their shit together he can make the playoffs every year and get 1 or 2 wins each year
The Kasey Kahne one was a joke... But he definitely had a lot of potential.
For sure
@@p1motorsports694 Are you going to do another one of these? I have a few pretty unpopular opinions.
@@Journeyjeffgordonfan24 idk maybe but I wanna make these a semi regular thing
Having been to both Daytona and Talladega, Daytona was incredible, Talladega was mediocre and wildly overrated. Will return to Daytona some day, no interest in going back to Dega at all.
As someone who went to both twice ur high
I was a little late but my take is the Brett Moffitt should be in at least a top level xfinity ride maybe a decent cup ride like LMC
Agreed
I have been saying this for years. I said he was going to be a champion before he won the truck championship for a less team (HRE) and I was right. If he drove in xfinity for jr or jgr he would definitely had a xfinity championship. He just needed a better ride. The other driver I was really confident about winning a championship in anything was another jr Motorsport driver, brad keselowski. We know how that turned out.
Hendricks best drivers by year
2016-Johnson
2017-Elliot
2018- Elliot
2019- Elliot
2020- Elliot
2021- Larson
2022- Elliot
2023- Byron (elliot out due to leg injury)
2024- we’ll see
Larson is an all around talent. But he is very comparable to Larson in nascar. In 2021 elliot was constantly right behind Larson in a bunch of races. It wasn’t like Larson was gone from him.
I agree elliot is not the best rn in the series but he is top3. Deal with it
He’ll never be a Jeff Gordon he’ll Larson won’t be either. But rn he is one of the top dogs
I don't think Elliott is bad and I think he is somewhere near Larson's level but not on it, but I think Elliott is top 5-10 at his best
Larson and Byron are underrated. Elliott and Bowman are overrated.
@@JasonRamme-g9w underrated? Larson? Bruh he’s the main guy talked about every race. People question him when he runs outside the top 5. He is not underrated lol. Hell rn people are comparing him to verstappen. If anything people talk more about him than Byron and bowman.
Elliot is close since he is up there with Larson in fan favorites and since he’s also battling for the regular season title
@@p1motorsports694 I can agree on all around talent. But rn in nascar it’s close. Anything else and Larson has him beat
But sadly those salty fans will just say ‘since you’re a Chevy fan you still like them’
Funny how the sanctioning body of indycar is okay with them running flat out at Indy at 230 mph, the cars are not as safe, they can get airborne as well.
I see your point
Late add , while hearing you out on every driver deserves there championship based on the rules there given. With that said Kyle’s 2015 championship or Tyler’s 2018 championship are tied for the worst championships in nascar history. Kyle missed 1/3 of the races and Tyler wasn’t even the best on his team in 2018.
Agreed
Agreed
