If you read the owner's manual you will find other things like turning the pollution mode on and off by holding down the vent recirculate key for 5 seconds. This toggles it on and off. Also operating the accelerator 3 times to floor and back in quick succession in engineering mode resets the engine oil life. This is mentioned further down. You can also reset your vent position actuators to factory setting if they become confused. Google this.
With your throttoe position that you saw at 27% in engineering mode, you need to clean the throttle valvue and upper intake manifold. Mine would set in the high 20's (25 - 28%) and every few weeks throw a code about throttle position error, would clear the code, but a few weeks later it was back. I remmoved the intake manifold and throttle valve for a coolant leak I was working on, decided it looked a bit dirty, so got the carby cleaner out and cleaned the throttle vavle and taped off the intake manifold openings and filled it with decreaser and water about half way, and shook the life out of it. The liquid went in a slight pink colout, came out BLACK A/F, same with the rag I used to clean thre throttle, it became nasty black. When I put everything back together, the throttle position % went from 28.4% down to 16.2%. I also noticed a very big difference in throttle response when driving, power delivery was much smoother, but going to straight open throttle was a lot punchier and responsive. Just a thought this might help others.

From my deep research, the Commodore is a very high quality reliable car, made from scratch by Australian GM, much better than the global Cruze and Malibu, and others like Fusion(Mondeo in Australia?), Jetta and others. With the engine running, press the mode button on the steering. It will change the information. Keep pressing and each time it will change and eventually come up with the Digital Speedo reading in the centre.

the 6 speed auto version has downhill speed limiting. So pick a hill whilst in drive. Brake on the way down at the speed limit. The auto will change down and hold you at that speed without the cruise control being on......expect to change the water pump at 80,000 and the radiator will blow the top connection off at 100,000. Both require complete replacement. Don't thrash your V8 over speed bumps because the wobble in the harmonic rubber coupling helps dislodge the aircon belt. There is a several hundred dollar fix at Holden with extra tensioner pulley and new harmonic balancer. I would just drive slower over bumps and save the money.

I have a 2007 Berlina and it's a pile of crap, I've spent 3500 on it since I bought it and now the fukin starter motor has gone, these cars are gutless ,the motors are no good, if I can help someone who's looking to buy, don't they have circuits and all sorts of stuff that drives you nuts ,I should have kept my VT, she was a beauty.
Why would you want to eliminate all dash lights, but still have the speedo glaring at you? This function is designed for night driving to minimize glare in the drivers face. So that's a fail. My ford allows all dash lights to be dimmed with the flick of 1 switch. Engineering mode seems pointless although knowing battery voltage is important. Shame you have to switch the engine OFF then IGN on & push a button just to get the menu on screen, then no doubt more steps required to view the actual info. Believe it or not, my ford has a gauge on the cluster just for that purpose, & all I need do is move my eyes a little to see it!!! ....& that beeping noise!!! Damn American stupidity that is.
How is it a fail if it’s to stop glare at night? If the speedo shuts out then how you supposed to know what speed you’re doing? Not a fail at all in my words. Yes the fords do also but only minimises lighting by a fraction.
@Tasman You can also adjust the brightness of the gauges with one button on the commodore he's demonstrating with. So you can turn off the irrelevant gauges light and dim down the speedo. Not hard, and hardly a fail. As for engineering mode, it's not critical to know, and it doesn't require any more thought than understanding how to use the scroll wheel to operate. Your comment reeks of that typical backyard yobbo who wants to shit on everything. I bet if you were given millions you'd still find a reason to sook. That's how you come across with your retard comments.
both of these "tricks" are not really helpful, who wants to drive with no illumination on the cluster and who wants to know the "engine" bs. Dude any person who seriously knows their car does not need this video.

renew the remote key. It probably has a flat or near flat battery. By opening the door it resets the anti theft system and lets you try the again. New remote is around $120 at Mr Minute or any reputable key cutter.
Why does my ve go to 260 on clock
Is it a 6 litre? If so, that's why.
6.0lt needs it can confirm VESS Ute manual

Imagine calling it country driving mode, it’s race mode or nothing
did not know that .....thank you i will sub to your channel
will this work for a G8
Yeah mate it does. From the G8 manual "Press both instrument panel
brightness buttons at the same time
to turn the night panel mode on
or off.
Night panel mode lights up the
speed, information displays
and warning reminders while the
rest of the instrument panel
lights are off.
the G8 is called the SS or SSV in Australia. The SSV has the full LCD display which shows radio and climate control features. Yes, the functions are the same across all VE models.
I am super surprised
EPIC!
engineering mode I heard it goes from a V6 to and V12 LOL
no need to flaunt your full tank :P
the Cool Things You Probably Never Knew is it can burn spark plugs through the ceramic, and h vac pc can die $1300. no key for wagon hatch when ur batt dies,
How to unlock your car when you locked your key in side
Call the RAA.
I knew the engineering mode in the 2009 Holden commodore u just click the button
i have one of these
That lighting mode is for the cops at night
You believe that do you ? Okay dummy whatever you say
I can go 1 better. I just got a ex cop ve it has 1 button that kills all dash lights including speedo
My vy had very similar crap
They need to piss off all these new model shit box plastic cars and bring old school back new generation is shot
And that's cool?
Saabs have had this for decades. I suspect GM robbed it from Saab, like they did with all the best ideas to come out of Trolhattan
lol.....@......Saabs....rofl
should have called them...."Saads"
lol...
And now there both dead!
That's how you come across with your retard comments.
v6...lolol...fail
Holden’s are the shitiest cars on earth 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿
both of these "tricks" are not really helpful, who wants to drive with no illumination on the cluster and who wants to know the "engine" bs. Dude any person who seriously knows their car does not need this video.
Helpful when you buy one and it's on tho. Cheers for this vid.
