  • "What I said to Shane right there, I said, 'You gotta kill me. I'm not going nowhere'...I respect every fighter as a man first...a fighter has to make me respect his skills," stated retired undefeated former pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, who recalled his classic showdown with former world champion Shane Mosley. To answer some of your comments (because we didn't read them all): we fought the best and we took the best fights available. We beat everyone they put in front of us. Before we won, they said we would lose. After we won, they made their excuses. We've been on top for 20years! That is what will be remembered. We understand all the emotions that come with being fans and standing behind your fighters & we are grateful for the role you play. Hearing your hard words just comes with the territory, but we are wishing you all the best! Push for the Mayweather Vs Mcgreggor fight. Otherwise, make room in your hearts for the young hungry lions that are waiting to be the next major boxing figure! TMT TBE stay tuned!

      Deeper in the fight I'll never forget the look on Floyd's face when he saw Shane showing early signs of Parkinson's or TBI, or something. He carried Shane the rest of the fight and didn't embarrass nor hurt him, and all the while made the crowd believe it was still a prize fight. That's when I realized this guy actually has a big heart.

    Say what you want about the guy, you can spend a day and still not list all the things you think are not "right" with him (you can you that with every person on the planet). But no-one can deny his amazing skill as a boxer, nor the fact the the guy had a vision about himself, and made the right choices and sacrifices to put himself on the position he's in today.
    Sure, he got lucky along the way, and he's had help from a lot of people, but still, he's been clear on his goals and made them a reality through hard work and discipline.
    The man change the boxing game, whether we like it or not.

    Long Comment, but REAL FANS could appreciate this.......
    Believe me and Floyd said this a year ago, GGG would be easy and people laugh, I UNDERSTAND to the average fan, BUT Diehard boxing fans know WHY ???
    1st off, I seen Floyd live 5 times and 3 times up close...
    It is NOTHING like u see on TV.
    This dude is a FRIGGN ABSOLUTE SPECIMEN in that Ring. A sight to witness and he makes every fight look so easy, that it is boring to the average fan watching. Believe it.........
    Every opponent of Mayweather trains beyond belief to destroy him, They dream about it, but Floyd has every skill MASTERED in the sport to defeat anyone put in front of him. He was already genetically gifted as young kid and was not only trained to be a Great fighter, but had the passion and determination to become a great Boxer.....
    **** GGG is a 160 lb middleweight who comes in at 170, 173 fight night, of course it would have to be a catchweight and Floyd is literally on the small side of 147 lb Welterweight.
    He outboxed Canelo like he was an Amateur when all the haters said, Floyd was ducking him. ****
    Learn the whole story between Floyd and Top Rank under Bob Arum. Whoever thinks Floyd ducked all these Fighters back in the day don't have the 1st clue what went down. Floyd wanted every single fight and Arum screwed him over a dozen times and that is the reason Floyd left. he begged arum for 2 yrs to get the Oscar Fight and arum avoided it bc Oscar was bringing him in mega millions as his golden boy and knew Floyd could end it. Same with Pacquiao. do u think Arum was going to let Manny fight Mayweather in 2009 with 6 yrs left on his contract to fight Mayweather and ruin his mega million dollar Superstar. arum knew Floyd would end every fighter he had in his arsenal. Arum, to this day has never paid floyd for the Gatti fight.... Arum is a Dog, Period and ruined Tons of great Matchups and it will all come out one day. I have known the story since 2006, 2007 between Floyd and arum and that is why Floyd left..... i can go on and on and wait for my podcast coming out shortly !!!
    Floyd went to 154 lbs to take over Oscar's reign, period. this after the McGregor Fight bc Floyd carried Connor into the late rds.
    Floyd's game plan was exactly how he planned it.
    ***** He had a Mask on and a X on the back of his outfit coming into the arena which meant, ROBBERY IN THE 10TH ROUND........ No one will beat this dude in his weight class until he is 45 yrs old and stops training. yes, that is how Great he is..... He would never fight a World class Boxer like he fought McGregor bc if Floyd fought Connor like he did with Canelo or Berto from opening bell, It would have been a real short Night, Believe it......he made McGregor 100 times bigger than he already was and set for life. Floyd will finally gain the respect he always deserved. he took on the Bad guy role after Leaving Top rank and made over a billion dollars without a scratch on him. if you can't respect that, then your just a hater. PEACE REAL FANS !

    Floyd is dropping jewels: have patience, work hard, don't give up on your dream, and be ready to adjust. He didn't just set out to be a good or great boxer; he set out to be an artist at his craft. How many of us are artists at our crafts? How many of us are even the best at our jobs where we work? Work on your craft whatever it is. Take some small part of it and improve at it. Try new methods. See if that works better. Read. Set goals. Add to your arsenal of qualities. Even if you can't become the best, your attitude, your determination, your energy will get noticed -- and people will want to help you, will root for you, will respect you. You won't get paid like Floyd (none of us will), but you can come up. And before you realize it, you'll see that you have a plan for success.

    I remember wanting this guy to lose so bad. Plus, I know he went to jail for domestic violence and did other things, and I wasn't crazy about him throwing money around and being cocky, but the more I learn about him the more I respect him. I realized one day, hey he grew up poor, but I didn't know it was this bad. 7 people in one house, and all of the people that died. Wow, he came from nothing, and he's been in tough situations in the ring too, and could adapt.

      Floyd went “heel” on purpose when he went from Pretty Boy Floyd to Money Mayweather. It was the De La Hoya fight, he came in wearing Mexican flag color trunks, with a sombrero and pancho. Being the villain in boxing makes more money. In the boxing community he’s known for paying for boxers funerals, showing up to Diego Corrales’ daughter’s sweet sixteen, he does a lot of good for the sport behind the scenes.

      Jvinson, are you fuking serious? During Oscar and Mosley prime, 97-2001-2, you realize Floyd was fighting 2 weight class underneath them. The closest Floyd was to them, was when Mosley was at LW and Floyd SFW and Floyd wouldn't even move up to Mosley's class until Mosley left for WW, a year and a half later actually. You flomo's by far are the most unintelligent of all boxing fans. I actually watched boxing back then and followed all three careers. The only time Floyd called Mosley out, was well after Mosley's prime, after 2006, after Mosley had already lost several times. And do you realize while Mosley and Oscar were fighting on PPV, Floyd was still fighting on boxing after dark on regular HBO LOL He had zero value back then. And as for the cash cow, Floyd was never the cash cow while Oscar was still fighting and Oscar made Floyd who he is simply by bringing him to the big stage finally when Oscar fought him. Go watch that fight and listen to Merchant "floyd lusts for Oscar's superstardom, Floyd is a boxing star, Oscar is a superstar". Floyd didn't become the PPV king until Oscar fought him and then left boxing. SMH. Everyone knows that FFS. Floyd only became PPV king, because everyone else washed up and retired! If you followed boxing back then, when Floyd was actually fighting hard and taking tougher fights, nobody cared! PPV was all about Lewis, Evander, Roy Jones, Oscar, Trinidad, Barerra, Morales. Then there was Floyd over on regular HBO! LOL

      Flexb123 None of what you said is true. They were in the middle of negotiations with Shane in 1999. Shane priced himself out of the fight when his father said the fight should be worth 8 figures at a time when both fighters are barely making 7 figures. In 2005, and there is video on RUclips on this, that you can easily find if you didn't have so much Floyd hate in you, where he says " I hear Shane Mosley and Oscar De La Hoya are coming back down to 147 and I want to fight the best guys out there" later that year, Shane is asked why no fight Floyd that year and he makes every excuse he can think of. There is video is this as well on RUclips that can be found if you really wanted to find it and get facts instead of having a biased opinion

    • @toppdogg2815
      @toppdogg2815 7 лет назад +5

      Flexb123 Floyd was the cash cow when De La Hoya was still fighting because after the he beat De La Hoya he became the top draw. You are right when you say Floyd wasn't a big draw when Oscar and Shane were fighting on PPV and that further proves my man's point and you don't even realize that you made his point for him. After Floyd called them out on HBO that night, Jim Lampley asked Roy Jones what he thought about those 2 fights and he said it didn't make sense for Oscar or Shane to take those fights because there was a lot of risk and very little reward. Translation, Floyd will probably beat you and he's not a big draw yet and won't bring the financial reward to the table for the risk of losing. That's exactly why they avoided him for all those years. It wasn't until Oscar basically had no choice that he decided to fight him and Shane jumped on the money train when Floyd became the PPV king

    • @Flexb123
      @Flexb123 7 лет назад

      Top Dogg, FLOYD DID NOT CALL SHANE AND OSCAR OUT DURING THEIR PRIMES! Floyd saying "one day i'd like to fight the best like oscar and shane, isn't calling out FFS (especially when he's 2 weight classes below!). Secondly, Oscar only fought one more time after Floyd, not including the warm up fight with Forbes, and oscar brought in more than Floyd did vs Marquez, which is the most comparable fight, since it was one year after Oscar had left. And in 2007 Floyd did under a million buys with Hatton. So old washed up, completely shot Oscar, did more buys vs pac, than prime Floyd did vs Marquez or vs undefeated Hatton. LOL And Oscar had no choice but to fight Floyd? What the fuk are you smoking? oscar didn't even need boxing anymore and already accomplished everything, but Floyd was seen as the P4P #1 and oscar wanted that "title" back one more time. And it wasnt' because Floyd beat Oscar, than he became the draw, if that was the case would have happened with Mosley, Hopkins etc. who also beat Oscar. No, the truth is, all the greats were either completely washed up or retired and there was nobody else left to watch. Floyd was in the right place at the right time. Took advantage of an extremely weak era of boxing the last half of his career.

    • @toppdogg2815
      @toppdogg2815 7 лет назад +5

      Flexb123 I'll say this one more time. Floyd and Shane were in negotiations in 1999 and Shane's dad priced his son out of the fight. No, 2005 wasn't Oscar's prime but he had been practically begging Arum to make that fight before that, which is part of the reason why he eventually bought out his contract with Arum in 2006. He was willing to move up because at the time Oscar was fighting at 154, which he did when they eventually fought in 2007. I love when people try to debate me about something and then make my point for me. You're trying to claim Oscar had a choice to fight Floyd and then you say Floyd was considered #1 on the P4P list and Oscar wanted his title back. So how in the fuck was he going to get that title back without fighting Floyd? So yes, he had no choice but to fight Floyd if he wanted to be considered #1 P4P man
