- After learning bald eagles had been spotted in the near by area around Shaver's Lake we wanted to take a look and also explore an area we weren't overly familiar with or heard a lot about. Located in the Sierra National Forest it was the perfect retreat to high tempers in other places. We secured our reservations for two nights at Camp Edison. In this video we explore the park that is frequently dubbed by the locals as, "Holiday Inn to RV'ers" and share our own campground review. Also make sure to stay until the end where we share "the best kept secret" with you and subscribe so you can see more videos from the area coming soon.
According to The Dyrt
43 sites (133-175) are Full Hook-up with Electric, Water, Sewer, and Cable TV

Been going to camp Edison since they opened in the 1960s. Has change alot over the years and still my favorite place ever.
That lake is hands down our favorite! Thanks for watching.
I saw a hump back gray whale..lol... awesome library!! Dang.. spendy for one night stay...
In California for a private campground it really isn't bad, unless............... you want a prime spot. lol Shhhhh don't tell anyone where those are. ;-)
What a lovely campground by the water. That is a best secert.
Love this area and landscape, it’s so beautiful there! 😍 Thanks for sharing California! -Marshall 🎸
Ok, now I think I need to start exploring the Sierras further south of my usual haunts. Great Campground! Oh! That's just north of Hume Lake. I went to that camp a bazillion years ago when I was in Jr Hi and Highschool. Great vid.
we hear it is real popular with the girl and boy scouts too. we will be returning! have always loved lake tahoe but it's way too crowded all the time.
@@CaliforniaTravelVideos We love Tahoe too, but never camp there. I prefer to be away from the crowds when camping.
@@DestinationsChronicles Agreed - it's getting tougher all the time to find great sites with the increased demand. Fortunately for retirees, there's always the weekdays...
Very nice Campground! Thanks for sharing Grace and Michael 💓
It was one of those places you hate to leave!
Looks like a great place to camp and explore. Thumbs up 👍
Cool solar panels. I wish we had those on our trailer. I saw a turtle too. Love the eye.
What a beautiful area 😃 thank you for sharing - Ray
Thanks Ray, I hope you get up there as it is lovely!
This is on our list of places to stay! saw you guys at Traveling Roberts live stream!
Hope the video gives you some great insight and that you watched til the end for some great tips. If you don't have any toys then anyplace is pretty great but if you have water toys, get as close as you can because it's a BIG piece of property.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing this with us. Wish I could be there 👍
Oh that's a perfect place for that painted eye stone on that sleeping turtle :) What a pretty campground with all the boulders, forest, and deer. And thanks for sharing your secrets for the best sites right on the lake. Enjoy.

Thanks Debbie already looking forward to returning! 😍
Loved the sleeping turtle!!! So cool. :) This looks like a great campground for a week getaway. Thanks for sharing!
Hoping y'all are also enjoying the best of life - kudos on your awesome YT channel 😎🚐✌
very stunning 🤩
This is a very informative video, the kind of video that I seek to share on my FB group for our camping friends. Obviously, we don't make these sort of videos cause we don't camp 😆. What a beautiful area, very reminiscent to Lake Alpine.
Thanks for sharing Patty. I did see Cabin rentals in the area. I love this lake and can’t wait to return!
Nice review of the campground. Love the wildlife. Yeah, the maps can be misleading some times. Premium sites! That's where I would want to be. Thanks for sharing your adventure. 🐢💖
Ah, nothing like the good life Steve and while living it up a bit is alluring, it often turns out the best of our journey comes from within and those we meet - both IRL (In Real Life) as well as here online. It's a pleasure to have the opportunity to know you and link up with y'all in the future... especially Jill although I've learned not to challenge her to a game of Pictionary!!! 😮😵😉
Is there water or sewer hookups on the campsites? Great informative video, thank you!

And if you'd prefer a nearby location that's a bit more like traditional camping, also consider spots like the Dorabelle National Forest Campground that also is adjacent to Shaver Lake.

Is the campgroup only for RV? How about tent camping?
Pretty sure we saw tents but check on their main website to be sure.
Do you know if they have cabins in the area? That looks like a really nice place. I bet your puppy had a good time!
Not that we saw in Camp Edison itself but I do remember seeing signs in town for rentals.
