She played great. I thought the commentary was quite patronising at the start. Obviously Ellerman wasn't having his best day so that didn't help matters but she showed lovely technique and composure.
It is a pity that the british male commentator continually uses surprised tones when she continues to win more games. There is no surprise here, she is a quality player
You don’t win 2.5 million by the age of 25 playing pool of all sports if you aren’t practically a winning machine. That cue action is something to behold.
33:55 this is what seperates pros from amateurs, i would have panicked and hit the cue hard with center top, fearing it will curve if i put any sort of spin at that distance. Looks easy this shot, but far from it in fact.
They were talking about can the pool players ask a referee about the color of the balls. Well, I have an issue with 3 and 7. What I do is go look at the number on the ball.
The one UK commentator is constantly under-rating Chen the entire match. "You'd have to say she's actually a favorite to win from a 6-1 lead!" Dude, she was *actually* a favorite to win from the opening break. "She doesn't seem affected by the enormity of what she's about to accomplish." What enormity? Winning a match she was always a slight favorite to win?
The fact that Chen was WPA 9 ball champion 2017, once wpa ranked 1st, player of the year 2011, but he still underrated her, is a clear sign of racism against Asian, and sexism against female.
@@carlvernon7531 He definitely made a big leap from some mildly condescending remarks from the commentators to "clear sign racism". If anything at all, it's incredibly ambiguous if there was any racist intent in the commentary. Some people like to connect 2 dots that are so far apart to even consider them related.
In snooker a player can ask about the color of a ball in case of color blindness. Is there such a rule in pool? That's an interesting question, I don't know. THERE ARE NUMBERS ON THE POOL BALLS!!!
She is and he sucked, don’t really follow pool all that much so I don’t know if this guy is any good but he definitely sucked in this match. How can u get ball in hand after the brake with an open table and not run out.
That British announcer, does he know anything about pool? If he doesn’t know who she is and what she is capable of makes you wonder! This was no fluke win
I think this video was already up, just reuploaded for women’s day. All good, siming Chen’s strong enough to represent the ladies well. Would still be tough for her to break through and win a tournament, but she probably has the best chance.
Not so weird since she is way better than him if you look at the FargoRate. Mitch Ellerman has a FargoRate of 752 and Siming Chen 797. She is number 37 worldwide, including all men. Mitch is somewhere in the 200 or 300. She has just as many points as Tyler Woodward, and Tyler is number 3 in the USA (after SVB and Mike Dechaine.) And the commentators are telling us Mitch was the favorite to win lol.
@@robdetuinman2 Well, the match was the better part of 2 years ago so the numbers were slightly different back then, but I'm 90% sure that even then her Fargo was higher than his.
Mitch is a great player. His break just wasnt working at all. He got to the Semi-Final of the US 10 ball, 1 year previous. Siming Chen could not do that
The commentators don’t know anything about her, and they are sexist and racist. Chen is 27 now, she defeated Allison Fisher in China Open in 2010 (age 17), 2010 6-red snooker gold medal in Asian Games, she was player of the year 2011 (age 18), won Philippine Open and All Japan Championship, 2017 world women 9 ball champion, and former ranking No.1. She is on the level of Van Boeing, Strickland, Reyes, and Allison Fisher. The fact that she is well known, and commentators still underrated her, shows how naturally western male think Asian woman are submissive, weak, and sex object.
Saw one of her matches against Pan Xiaoting. Exciting, though you wouldn't know it by the dead pan audience, lol. CCP casts a pall over everything y'know
@@jj66c She is from Heilongjiang, Mainland China. The commentator pronounced the place poorly. The flag shown in the corner is the flag of People’s Republic of China, not Republic of China.
I am big Siming Chen fan. This is was a very good performance but she has a higher gear! Thanks Matchroom for posting again.

she is amazing to watch! what a great player!
Many of her tactics came from Efren, and try to perform bravely. Especially, 31:00, it is Efren's stratagem!

Snooker player cue action.
KQ, Yes it is, the slow pull back, with the pause, and then swinging through, wow!
Oh I need to get back d/fw and start playing tournaments again . I miss it so much .
She's the bomb..First time watching her..She is my favorite women's player now..
If anyone was surprised by this outcome they have not seen her play
This woman is world-class among both genders, period. She is also Wu Chia Ching's protégé.
No shit? That's cool.

Yeah, it was a great shot. In this case, deflection/squirt is more of a concern than curve because of the speed the shot is hit at.
Chen makes all of em wishing they could go home, she is fantastic, I love too watch her~USA
More us open matches from 2019 please

Chen is a 798 Fargo. Not many American men in her league.

Typically every number has an assigned associated color to it . Or so I thought .
Why is Siming not competing internationally, any more? She disappeared after 2019, except for Chinese tournaments.
Chinese covid restrictions
Thumbs down for giving away scorelines on matches I haven’t watched yet. Way to spoil them!
It's funny to see like 10 serious looking men arms crossed and not clapping while she makes some great shots 🤭

How can Matchroom Pool be the channel that actually announces these games and have the worst quality of the matches as possible?
