When I watched this on tv and one of the guys said that this is an award that no one really pays attention, I was really touched and happy they got this award!
Well done to shaun Tan and the team. Big fan of his work now. My friend and I found the Arrival picture book in our high school library years ago and last year she bought it for me as a nifty 21st birthday gift. Something I'll treasure for life :)
The Lost Thing is a short film that will make you realize tons of things. I bet people of all ages could understand the real-life lesson that the film has given to its audience.
Well, this was a pleasant surprise. Once again, an Australian animated film wins an Academy Award. The 2000's were a great time for Australian Animation, with Harvie Krumpet winning Best Animated Short Film, and Happy Feet winning Best Animated Feature, all the while beating Disney and Pixar at their own game. At least it's refreshing to see the Aussie contingent defeating the American titans.

In case you're wondering what the Banksy joke was about, he is an artist who was nominated for Best Documentary, but he never shows his face, so nobody knows what he looks like. He wrote that if he attended the Oscars, he would wear an animal mask. The Academy was not happy about it, so Justin joked that his identity is Banksy.
