    Angus! Thanks for your videos as they seem to be the most informative and you do not mind telling us the pros and cons on each review which is great!
    I do wish you would go into a little more technical detail on Printer Reviews such as true resolution compared to what the manufacturer states, and if there was a way to show a completed print from the device with a little more detail.
    You do rock and I am going to be a loyal subscriber, because even if you write me off as a newbie 3D Printer Hack, I have still learned more from your videos than I have from hundreds of other resources. Thanks!

    Ordered mine yesterday, was great to watch your video and be reassured that I've made the right choice. I ordered some BuildTak with mine because I didn't realise it now comes with it, but it'll be good to have some spare for when it inevitably gets torn. The first thing I'm going to print is the OmniStand which is a FlashForge-compatible filament holder for standard 1kg spools.

    • @MakersMuse
      @MakersMuse  9 лет назад +1

      Yoshie Sweet! You won't be disappointed. Thanks for the heads up on the OmniStand, printing one now!

    • @TheYoshieMaster
      @TheYoshieMaster 9 лет назад

      No worries, let me know how it goes! Make sure you print the top stand if you wish to have 1kg spools, the inside stands will flex and obstruct the build plate if you use heavy filament.

    We really appreciate the shout-out for Simplify3D Software - we agree that the combination of the Flashforge Dreamer and Simplify3D is outstanding!

    • @MakersMuse
      @MakersMuse  9 лет назад

      Jann Wilke No worries! I've since been using the two together for ages, works awesomely. Only suggestion would be some way of making it easier to view which extruder is which in the G code viewer, to help double check dual material prints. No idea if that's an easy change or not. :)

      Maker's Muse That's an awesome idea. Our next release will have dozens of things suggested by our users, so just wait a bit and see :-)

      Jann Wilke I concur, It was well worth the $ .. If you're spending $1500-2000 on a piece of hardware you would be silly not to spend the $150(190AUD) on the software! The Flashprint is fine for simple stuff.. But you can;t go past the support options with simplify!!!

    I just picked up my fist 3d printer the flashforge dreamer from hobbyking on the black Friday deal!! They had them on for $457.00 us regular $1099.00 seemed to good to be true but I got mine right when the sale started on Thursday at midnight and by the end of Friday they were all gone!! I'm very excited and I'm really impressed with your videos very informative and well done. fyi amazing deals on filament right now at hobbyking all or most are half price :) keep up the good work!!

    Great Review! I enjoy your channel.
    request: can you do an in-depth review of the dreamer? including the functionality of the lcd menu options? I have never owned a 3d printer but am intelligent enough to understand that the bad reviews I've seen could be due to the settings the user has. basically I'm asking if you can show the functionality in detail when used properly with the correct filament settings. how well will this do graphene filament? wood fill? carbon fiber? What are the adjustments you can make for printing an exotic with pla for example. stuff like that.

      also, I am looking to print a TPU bulb pump to push liquid into an ABS tube (hydraulic type device). will the TPU bulb hold liquid? What would the minimum thickness, of the walls of the bulb, need to be printed at?

    How do you control the temperature of the enclosure (not the bed neither the nozzle)? By software? By the local control panel? Thank you.

    at the end there you said it could print exotic filament, now are the nozzle wear resistant or would be wise to upgrade those before doing so? im asking because im looking for a new printer any ideas?

    Hey mate been watching nearly every video of yours (Australian, Brisbane) so your stuff more relates to me than others, Noticed at the start you mentioned you have been using it for months and at the end you say X3d lent you the machine? Also do you recommend this over the CreatorPro? and can you make a tutorial actually on how to print abs... tape so on and how to print pla... tape so on...

    • @MakersMuse
      @MakersMuse  9 лет назад

      Haha yeah I actually use the flashforge dreamer at work too, but that unit is way too used to have in a review vid so I borrowed this new unit! I have to say though, I don't associate with x3d anymore... Didn't work out. Good idea on the pla and abs vids though! I'll add it to the growing list for my 3d printing 101 series!

    Thanks for anyone answer, because i'll buy it.

    I've had this printer for about a week and i cant get abs to stick to the bed without a raft, is that normal or do I have my settings wrong. I keep raising the bed temp to help but it still wont stick, I am currently heating the bed at 125 and extruding at 235?
    Thanks for all the information you are sharing on these printers it helped me make my mind up to buy this machine :)

    • @MakersMuse
      @MakersMuse  9 лет назад

      benofkent are you printing onto the blue sheets they come with? Getting the bed level dead on for printing can be hard and you may need to slow the first layer down for maximum adhesion. Your bed is possibly too hot, 90deg should be enough.

    • @benofkent
      @benofkent 9 лет назад

      Yes I am printing on the blue sheet it seems to have one already fitted to the bed,
      I didn't realize I could slow the first layer down i will give that a try:)

    • @MakersMuse
      @MakersMuse  9 лет назад +2

      ***** They look like a cheaper clone of the older Makerbot Replicator 2X - possibly OK but be wary for poor quality control at that price - you might get a dud... The older 2X's needed a fair few mods to make them as good as the flashforge machines are now.

    Thanks for the great instructional video. I am searching for the right combination of scanner, software and printer. I need to be able to scan small figures 70mm - 120mm into a software program that will allow me to add cloths, change the leg or arm positions and maybe enlarge the size somewhat. I have never used a 3D printer before and I have never use a CAD system before, however I can pick up info quicky. I have a graphics design background - Photoshop - and I have computer programming degree.
    Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Again thanks for the cool video!

    • @MakersMuse
      @MakersMuse  8 лет назад

      +Sonny Phillips To scan figures of high detail at that scale you would have to look into a high end scanning system like the David SLS-3, capable of capturing detail up to 0.05mm but it's not very beginner friendly. You could look into the einscan S (I reviewed it on this channel) which is cheaper but uses a similar 3D Scanning tech. If you're familiar with photoshop you may pick up the Post processing of 3D Scans fairly quickly. You could the use software like zbrush to digitally draw in clothes and tweak the scan (not very easy but possible). Cheers!

    Hi makers muse love the channel, but i just got a dreamer and was wondering what temp i should be printing at for pla and abs and the print bed temp with the tack sheet.
    Also i am having trouble getting the print off of the tack sheet that comes with is, the shop i got it from said the following temps
    ABS: degrees c
    bed 110
    extruder 240
    PLA
    bed 60
    extruder 230
    and do you have any other tips and tricks for printing with this machine.
    thanks

    • @MakersMuse
      @MakersMuse  9 лет назад

      tmy158 Hey mate, cheers for the comment! Buildtak doesn't need as much heat on the bed as other materials. Here's what I use on the Flashforge (within simplify 3D). The blue sheets the dreamer comes with are the same as buildtak.
      ABS: degrees c
      bed 70
      extruder 220-230
      PLA
      bed 60
      extruder 210
      Worth noting I always print with a raft (my buildtak is always damaged haha), and my nozzle height isn't too close, you should still be able to slide a business card under it when doing the bed level wizard.
      If you're printing HUGE ABS parts and they're warping, you may need to increase the bed temp.
      There's a good design for 1kg internal spool holder on thingiverse called the 'omni spool' that's worth printing.
      Let me know how you go!

      Maker's Muse Thanks so much for the help, also any thoughts on the glass print bed that you can now get for the dreamer from flash forge, is glass worth it or should i just stick with the buildtack.

    • @MakersMuse
      @MakersMuse  9 лет назад

      tmy158 Personally I don't have much experience with glass, always just stuck buildtak on and never had a problem. Some people say their ali beds have warped over time, which glass won't do... but haven't had that issue myself!

    • @tmy158

    I see you have been using some sort of slurries on the heat bed. I guess if you try hair spray, you'll be delighted by it adhesiveness with clean printing as well. Do respond if you have tried this earlier. I would be glad. :)

    • @MakersMuse
      @MakersMuse  8 лет назад

      +Atul Mourya I've moved most of my printers onto buildtak, it works awesome and needs no surface treatment! I used to use abs/acetone slurry but it's very messy. Never had much luck with hairspray, hard to find the right type I suppose!

    One thing though, can you do a video on the printable upgrade's for this printer to make it better? I have found a couple that are great! Like the active cooling, spool holder and fan cover's but I want to know if there is any more out there?

    hi maker muse do you know of a good way to take the old build tack off of my dreamer so i can put a new one on.

    • @MakersMuse
      @MakersMuse  9 лет назад

      tmy158 Once you get a corner or two up then you can slowly pull the sheet off, it takes a lot of force but will pull away slowly and steadily. I find a sharp scraper (I have one on hand to get prints off the build tak) is good to help get under an edge. After you pull it off, make sure the bed surface is nice and clean with no sticky residue before putting the new sheet down. :) I use isopropol wipes.

      +Aiden Kashi Loudness is very subjective, what part is loud, the motor movements, fans? It's certainly not a quiet machine but I haven't used a robo r1 so can't directly compare. The dreamer's plastic frame makes it resonate louder at certainly movement speeds.
