So glad I found your video. I recently used the massage gun to loosen up my muscles without any knowledge of how it's supposed to be done. Was just looking for spots that were tender. Massaging the soleus muscle made a huge difference immediately. Still need a lot of work done but knowing that my mobility was somehow improved was so refreshing. Thanks for this detailed info! I can be more intentional with bending while massaging it.

Your timing is PERFECT! I have been working on my ankles, they are so tight and affecting my deadlifts. I even have the same massage gun. Thank you and Happy New Year!🎉

Hello. Thank you for your video and has me thinking about about using a massage. I hope you don't mind if I ask you a question. Recently I was diagnosed with have cellulitis in my lower right leg. It was very red, painful and swollen. I am under my doctor's care with taking antibiotics and following up with a vascular surgeon for possible venous insufficiency. So I am doing everything I can at home with elevation, ice therapy and compression stockings. What I am wondering about using a massage gun to gently massage out the swelling in my foot and lower leg? Appreciate your time and any thoughts/tips you may have!
    Jessica 😊🙏

Hi Jess! In theory, massage guns may have the capacity to assist in the removal of swelling and congestion if used the right way. Much like a massage, moving from the furthest point away up towards the heart is a viable strategy for managing congestion. I can’t obviously speak to your specific situation so please take that with a grain of salt and make sure those who have assessed and diagnosed your condition assist you in making the right choice for you.

The timing was perfect for me personally. Perhaps I need an appointment as I'm getting more and more anxiety on this issue I'm having and wanted to get your thoughts, if I may. My front muscles, believe it's the tibialis and/or peroneus are contracting/twitching literally constantly and it's been months now. I have an appointment with a doctor but I'm having to watch until that appointment and this is very uncommon for me and I'm scared it's something much worse. Thanks for your help.

Hey mate, I can’t comment on your specific symptoms, but if someone presented to me with those symptoms clinically, I’d be very interested in having a look at the lower back to see if there was a connection there via the nerves that supply those muscles.

Thank you! My left ankle is so restricted that during leg press my toes starting turning out on their own. While the right foot stays in the same position.

I have been suffering from PTTD. I’ve been doing physio for a year. This massage gun has given relief in my ankle I’m shocked!! How long do you think this will help with pttd ? Or not really recommend? Thanks!

As long as it feels respectful, comfortable and helpful it usually means it’s a positive thing to do. Massage guns are more of a symptomatic treatment so it’s worth trying to figure out why it became sore in the first place as well.
