Nightblindness is caused by vitamin a toxicity. Not deficiency, but rather toxicity. Grant Genereux clearly explains the cause of nightblindness in his free online book Poisoning For Profits which you can look up on google. He has a whole chapter on it
It's fat soluable. Like D and E. It can be stored in the body unlike water soluable vitamins like C and B vitamins which are flushed out if not needed. Just don't take large doses .
Only large doses are toxic as explained above. Keep in mind large doses of any vitamin or mineral for a long period of time can cause a deficiency in another vitamin or mineral through antagonism. For example, high doses of calcium can interfere with magnesium absorption, or excess zinc can inhibit copper absorption, or excess B6 can deplete B2 and B3. Etc.
I just started experimenting with taking alittle zinc here and there. When I do take it, I noticed the pain from my plantar fasciitis is way less the following morning.
You seem to have an interest in zinc. I have a question for you. I started taking zinc awhile back because it was recommended for menstrual cramps. However, I noticed that once I started taking zinc, my sleep apnea symptoms disappeared. I wear a pulse oximeter at night that vibrates when my oxygen goes down. I simply do not have the oxygen dropping events that I used to. Do you cover this topic in any of your videos, or do you have a possible explanation for this unexpected effect of zinc? I am convinced that it has been what has helped me. I was waking up gasping for air and I don't anymore. But it has worked for me for many months now (I started earlier this year). So I guess I am married to zinc for life. Would love to hear your thoughts. I can't seem to find much info about this anywhere. And thank you for the generous wealth of knowledge that you share with us. (Edit! I forgot to mention that I also started having very vivid dreams since I started taking Zinc!)
Sleep Apnea is a Vit. B -1 deficiency.I no longer have apnea since I started with Vitamin B-1.I take Benfotiamine and now I can say GOODBYE to the C-PAP. machine forevermore! What a breakthrough Vitamin knowledge is for the Consumer. Thanks to Dr. Osborne we can live healthier than ever before!

Have you tried the “eat for your Blood Type diet “. I have totally stopped Acid Reflux in it’s tracks. Twenty years on it and I’ve never had reflux since!
How much zinc do you recommend for someone with severe hypothyroidism and a copper deficiency? I know my copper is low from your Intracellular Nutrition testing. T4 and T3 levels remain pretty low; it’s becoming obvious I have malabsorption, but no endocrinologist so far is willing to prescribe anything other than the oral route. Currently on Tirosint after no improvements with Armour medication. Looking into scheduling a consult with you; maybe you know someone who would prescribe me subcutaneous levothyroxine. Never felt so scared and hopeless as right now. Myxedema has built up in my legs. Endocrinologist acknowledges legs as “doughy, thick skin”, and just instructs me to continue with medication that I’m obviously not getting very much of. Also started relapsing into old eating disorder behaviors because I am so discouraged; I was a distance runner competing at the elite level prior to my thyroid crashing. If you think you can help me, or direct me to some real help, can you respond to my comment; I would be forever grateful!🙏🏼 Sincerely, Valerie Westphal
Zinc Amino Acid Chelate does not require stomach acid or active transport to be released. It is absorbed into the bloodstream directly due to its small size. Measured in Daltons.

Is this a good way to get vitamin A without taking too much? I take 2 or 3 pills of grass fed beef liver (it is freeze dried into a powder). I suppose it depends on the size of the pill. I don't take Cod Liver oil but I hear that is a good source. On a different topic, I recently learned that the RDA for vitamin D is 600 IU but there was an error in the statistics and it really should be something like 6000 IU. Therefore I'm taking 6000 to 8000 IU per day and then taking a few days break from it (that is recommended) before I get my blood tested for Vitamin D. Any responders?
@@SusanDaschner I think those forms of Vitamin A from vegetables need to be converted into active Vitamin A (i.e. Retinol) and the human body does a terrible job at that. So beef liver is better - just don't eat too much according to what I read.
We get thousands of IUs of vitamin D as D2 through sun exposure for just an hour. The RDA number is nothing but a random number chosen because they have to choose a number.
Your 6000-8000 IU's per day is the recommended dosage for anyone who is Vitamin D deficient. Like your idea of having a break, on these days getting some sun on your body would be ideal if you can.💪👍👍👍
@@cudgee7144 no, the 1 or 2 or 3 day break in taking vitamin D is before you get tested for Vitamin D so that the test is accurate. Sun is important too - for infrared and vitamin D. But to make vitamin D you have to be in the sun near the time the sun is the highest in the sky. In other words to maximize vitamin D production but minimize skin damaging UV rays, the best time is near noon local time but don't stay in the sun too long - 20 minutes maybe? depends on a lot of factors, clouds, skin exposed, amount of melanin in skin (darkness of skin). The further you are away from June 21 (for the usa) the more you get skin damaging rays relative to vitamin D producing UV for a given time of day.
Ileostomy patients are also known to be zinc deficient. Your UltraZinc label says "Tabsules". Is that a capsule? Ileostomy patients can do liquid supplements and tablets but not capsules (They just go straight through) so was wondering.
So weak stomach acid can cause a zinc deficiency ,this explains my allergy to sulphur containing foods. I've heard that 40% of America age 40+ have weak stomach acid, this is a epidemic ! What is causing this ?
The soy thing might be overly exaggerated. My mom is in her menopause, she's been taking soy powder 3 times a day for 3 months now, and it does not help with the hot flushes at all. So the hormonal effect is probably much weaker than presumed.
@@sassuki she should watch. Dr Mindy pelz dr Mary Claire haver RUclips videos for hormone info. They are great there’s more but I’m not remembering them right now.
Should probably mention that Quercetin helps with zinc absorption and that Copper and zinc share the same absorption pathway.

Why are some people pushing the idea that vitamin A is toxic?

My understanding is that most forms of zinc supplements are poorly absorbed. I have been taking an ionophore, Quercetin, to help with absorption.

Liver and cod liver oil are some of the best sources.
Zinc picolinate or L optizinc with methionine?
