No other afrobeat musician has been patient enough to get those percussions right. That is the secret place of the who afrobeat. African beat, not african press computer!
Glad I was able to be at his concert in Harlem New York while in college.
The best ever to have done it, his way, the best way
He remains my best musician in Nigeria
Wow..my oldest brother used to go to shrine, I was way too young to follow him..now am approaching 50 years and I see what he saw back in the 80’s
The only True prophet and musician Africa and nigeria ever had. We miss you the great legend who spoke about future occurance of the future. Abami eda himself, Baba 70.
Mmmm, maybe the greatest but not the only. I say this in complete love with Fela, he is my fav.
Still have goose pimples watching and listening to this in 2018

You're so lucky
d prophet who saw tomorrow, rest in peace
Music Genus, imagine how the melody was built from a tap of drum to conjugation of many instruments into the music.
Remembering the day l youthfully mellowing around Lagos party time . Lagos was good then. With little money you u enjoy good , chop and quench , "Miliki Eko o ni ba je"
he was a hard worker you feel it in the music
FELA was a great man! Rest on ABAMI EDA!
The way Fela slowly built the rhythm and then you are just inundated with sensory overload at the mastery of the man and his musicians.
Another great tenor saxophone voice is gone - adieu YS, Rest in Peace!!!
I was also lucky to have witnessed him live in several occasion at the Shrine in Lagos 1993. How time flies..
They sure don't make them like this anymore - Musicians-extraordinaire!!! Thanks Lekan for posting this SHRINE footage. It sure brings back old and sweet memories.
Thanks! I visited the Shrine in December of 1987 so this brought back all kinds of memories. I even had a beer with the great one, he seemed a little sour, I hope it wan't me! Great show.
Impossible, Fela never drank booze at all. Only ☘️
A GREAT Musician , makes me proud be an AFRICAN !!! We sure do HAVE RYTHUM
Musique originale issue des entrailles de l'Afrique(Nigeria)...Résultat de recherches minutieuses.Rythme unique portant la griffe du Maître fêla anikulapo Kuti.Quelle délice !
RIP fela kuti and Yinusa Akinnibosun the other guy who led the lead Barotone Sax before Fela began to blow the Sax. Kindly upload more of Fela's live Performances.
The "other guy" opening before Fela on the Baritone sax is Showboy, the guy with the one eye. Unfortunately so addicted to coke. Heard he is down with a stroke and presently urgently needs help..
Musical artistry like no other. Maximum respect!
Love you and thanks for being you! From every Cell in your body that lived and still exist, I love you and may you spirit reign Forever!
Fela continue to Rest in Peace there will never another Musician like you you're missed

No one will miss those ever 'twerking' babes of the great Fela ... ummmmm.. shrine was fun... met with YS two Sundays ago at a brother's album launch.. the old man still got the skills

This legend was and still remains the all time embodiment of a cartoon character " The fearless Fang in the now defunct " Boom Magazine " of 60s
Man that lady with glasses OMG...from about 13:00 minute mark on she lets it go man!!! Twerking hard and better LONG before that was a even a term for it lol.
I was a regular at the Shrine Pepple Street. There is no place like that on this globe.
Once a man,s efforts are informed by fear and cowardice he loose his sense of being, he was no rubble rouser he was principled and disciplined and forever fearless
Souvenir nous l'avons vu quand il est venu à Strasbourg Une soirée inoubliable !
Revolutionary music...Abami EDA !
Akinremi Thompson correct
genius- sometimes i wonder how this visionary , highly intelligent , well educated artist could make homophobic statements - time&place perhaps.....anyhow he remains in my top ten most magic 20th century musicians
I'm sorry , but what homophobic comments?
Comments that strongly states one supports for a particular sex orientation eg Being straight
