JoeX did the 1095 BOB and was not impressed. I was surprised that the Gerber Strong Arm took more abuse. I have a old 1095 BOB. I ground off the fire steel notch leaving maybe an 1/8” pommel, it helped the knife’s balance. After about 10 years and multiple sharpening’s mine cycles from a true “Scandi” then a micro bevel to a v-edge depending on how bad I mess up the edge.
@darienfernandorodriguezcam484... I have never tried the LMF2. The Gerber StrongArm put up with a lot of abuse, I just never liked the design. The Tops Bob is still my long time beater tank of a knife...
That's my all time favorite knife.. I don't mean to correct, cause I'm not a troll, but in defense of the BoB, that's technically a Scandinavian, not a Sabre. I get it, it's not a "true" Scandi, but it sure as heck operates like a Scandi...
Tops charges way too much money for the B.O.B. For that price, you can definitely find a blade in 3v or magnacut, which will be lightyears better than 154cm. I unfortunately purchased the B.O.B long ago, and its the only knife I regret buying. I'm going to try to sell it, even if I take a loss on it.
The only thing I've ever sharpened on my belt sander is a lawnmower blade, I've never thought to try any of my knives on it. Maybe I've been doing it wrong all these years, spending endless hours using stones...lol You seem to get really good results though, maybe I should give it a try? 🤔Anyway, that Tops knife sure is a chonky little fixed blade and I like it. Thanks for sharing and Cheers!
No they are buying it to be "Cool" and look like a bush crafter. But I'm like you, I don't do bush craft. I just hike and camp. And I've got lots and lots of knives. Not sure you've seen it yet, but I did the Three knife bug out challenge. Wasn't easy to pick three knives out of my collection, well, except for the folding knife.
I'm so confused. Maybe you can help. WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH 154 steel? Some RUclips knife guys say its UNDERRATED... others say CPM154 and 154cm are nearly the same. Lately, I hear this steel is OVERRATED. I have avoided buying great looking knives in this steel, because i'm confused by all the propaganda. Is it STILL working ok for you, what are YOUR thoughts
Another great vid! I have a B.O.B. and don't go to it as much as I should. It's a knife I would highly recommend, yet I usually gravitate to my slightly less weighty/beefy options. Shame on me. I also agree that bow divots should be thrown out on knife handles.
So take away the features that make it useful and a bushcraft k ife so the name can just be a name like 90% of other knife...lmao this knife just isnt for you and you dont know how to uae the notch right for the striker

I never liked the Gerber...traded it for a pile of old axe heads...

You really base your opinions and decisions off the advice of Joex 😂
@Sfhakrn...Interesting that you would draw that conclusion from my statement...I’m amazed at how many people today see what they want to see...
Great look at this blade!!! You’re prob 💯 correct that very few people would ever use this to start a bow drill fire!
Very true!
That's my all time favorite knife..

Ps I love good 154 I’d like to try it mines in 1095 but still one of my faves for practical woods use with the sheath

Well. It’s very tuff stainless steel. Most enjoy it. Some hate it. I personally love it.
@Peterbiltknifeguy “PBKG” thank you for your quick reply. Good advice

You came up on that trade bro 😎 that back is a scraper and you really have to use that to get bitch working. But knife is impeccable in construction
Yes joe x has destroyed it 🎉
How do you know what 90% of the owners of this knife do with it? Just curious.
@@robertbarnard8610 because most people don’t even use the knives they buy
i want this thing so bad!
Joe x did the 1095 but not the 154cm
I wonder if the 154 would hold up to him
I don't think so but I think it would do good Joe x is a master at breaking knifes
He sure is
Turkiye Made "Bora Knives 518 MA DOST" Bushcraft/Survival Type Knife Similar Tops FieldCraft.

Uh no. This particular one’s striker doesn’t work
Si ça fonctionne, dans l'autre sens !
Joe x on youtube was able to break it rather easily
Cool
*Before taking the video, wash your hands and clean your nails. Mom didn't teach you?*
Yeah no.
If you don’t use the bow drill divet, why would it matter if it’s removed?
Esthetics
Had one in 154 no thank you, too difficult to sharpen. Also stop trying to throw a spark with the back end of that knife. It’s for opening beer.🫵🤣
