i think it's funny that you talk about how Ford is the one that popularized direct injection and turbocharging, when VW had been putting the first generation 2.0T engine in quite a few vehicles for years before any mention of EcoBoost or Hyundai turbo. they are the ones that really showed this country that turbo engines could be smooth, efficient, powerful, and not limited to high-end German luxury sedans.
Couple of problems: The 2013 Sonata has a panoramic roof, not a regular roof. UVO is a Kia only technology, Hyundai has BlueLink. The top end audio system is a Infinity system by Harman. Dimension is a "Hyundai PLUS" audio system with just better speakers, NO sub.
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that I "SE" trim model he is driving? The "Limited" trim models and the "SE" trim models are similarly equipped. The only reason I think this is an "SE" model is because this model does not have turn signals integrated into the side mirrors which would make it an "SE" model. The turn signals integrated into the side mirrors is a key distinction from "SE" to "Limited" -Like to hear feedback!
I own a 2012 2.0T Limited w/o Nav. There's not another car that can compare to mine for $26K brand new!! It's loaded, even to include features other cars in it's class don't. To include a panoramic roof, htd rear seats, and Bluelink Telematic system. "Cars this size don't get 40 unless electronically assisted." Mr. Cooley wants more than 34mpg from a fullsize with a gasoline engine? I've gotten 37mpg hwy before. I agree with everything else. Hyundai/Kia is the heat in this economy!
ya, Korean cars like Hyundai and Kia are low price and cheap with better fuel economy, more techs, and more horsepower, BUT Korean car are not made to be long last, most Korean car start to have major issues at or even before 100,000 miles. most people know that but they still buying it because of the body style
Been driveing the Hyundai since the new models got a 2012 now good review but does not go far enough disagree on the looks vs the optima but optima looks good. This car is a marvelous value for a family and 90 percent of people who drive. Rational people I mean. I would not trade this for any of the competors hands down. Not to say that this tpe of car today is not greatly improved for the driveing public in general. The Huyndai leads and is getting better every year. over 30K miles
I don't suppose you guys review any pick up trucks like the Ford f-150 Raptors or any 1500 series of other manufactures. I like the different approach you guys take to car reviews, other than pure 0-60 mph times and braking distances and figure 8 test. Thx
The Sonata received J.D. Power and associates award for most reliable midsize car based on the 2010 model. That should say something about reliability. I agree it's no Honda or Toyota but neither is Toyota or Honda anymore in recent years. Check with your engineers and professional mechanics about V6 Accords with transmission problems. Let us not forget the Camry's former acceleration issue and current crash test scores. I don't buy into the Japanese superiority complex anymore. All can fail!
I love my 2013 sonata se . I got one 25k walk out . Honestly the quality of the car isn't put together as good as others. And the turbo more like 230hp on the dyno . Although they claim 270
Hyundai's/Kia's dont sell @ auctions&despite what the"books"say they are used cars FEW people desire.Dont be tricked by the longer warranty. Most problems develop early in a cars life and the 100000 mile warranty really isnt that big of a deal.Fit&finish still remains a notch below Honda.I drive both cars.Call your insurance agent for a quote. In some parts of the country,Hyundais are nearly uninsurable Its easy to say that you don't care about depreciation bc u plan 2 drive it into the ground.
OK, so this guy said it holds each gear nearly to red line when he slides the shifter over... Into the manual shift mode... Well duh! You now control the shifting (for the most part)! If you don't want it red lining shift it up!
Def bad in snow with stock tires. But I bought a 2013 Sonata SE 2.0T with the Premium Package, have about 13K on it......I LOVE this car. I hear lots of different gripes, but I love this thing. Doesn't hurt that my old car was a base model 2002 Accent GL 1.6 with 206K+ on her (to her defense, her engine was still going strong.)....but I digress. I dig the styling, many prefer the Optima, but I like the Sonata's sweeping lines better. Engine has BALLS. Wheels are nice, everything is just awesome.
So ugly it sent all the other manufacturers scrambling back to the drawing board. No problem, though, luckily your approval is not necessary for my enjoyment of this vehicle.
Lol so let me get this straight... You say it is so ugly that is why it smashed the competition in the midsize sedan category. Congrats, you have gone full potato,
If you want a better car, the Accord is the way to go! I just bought a 2013 Accord Coupe and it is far superior to the Hyundais, plus, it holds its value much better than these Korean cars!
It's a good car, I've always wondered where Hyundai cut costs to make it so cheap until I sat in one for the first time, the plastics feel like asphalt. I had to take my hand off the door, it was so hard and uncomfortable..really nasty. No steering feel, you have to guess what the front wheels are doing and the road noise was horrendous. The weld points are 1980s Corolla. It's good looking though, cheap and okay for most and you can't beat the warranty. I think the Fusion is by far the new segm
I have the sonata limited 2.0 turbo and I don't have the nav, pisses me off because that's the only thing I don't like about mine, the sound system could sound better.
It's a bit noisy and rides a bit rough, I attribute it to the low profile rims and tires. that's one thing I don't like, I wish it rode smoother and quieter but I just turn the radio up really high anyway
Cars are overpriced and ppl are being dumb and being forced to finance them over 7-8 years! No one keeps a car that long! The 0 percent interest isn't actually 0. Its just included in your payments. Wake up ppl!
Most FWD cars suck in the snow. You can have the worlds best all-season tire, and it still wont come close to a dedicated winter tire. Few hundred dollars for some steelie rims and 4 winter tires will make the car a world of difference to drive.
What you say is 100% true... I Just don't get why auto makers put summer tires on family sedans. Most people that drive a Sonata aren't going take them for a track day.
Rear design Accord is just a rip off of the 1st generation Genesis sedan, plus why Accord coupe would be eaten alive by a Genesis coupe V6 350hp so clearly u are biased, not to say full of shit.
Imagine getting this bad boy tune up with bolts on, man. Gonna be a sweet ride!
Those numbers sound pretty good.
Fusions 2.0 EcoBoost gets 33 hwy mpg @ 231hp and it costs significantly more.
great they fixed the audio so us young pple arent holding our ears in pain thank u new tech guy
That's why I like my 2004 Mustang GT. It's quick, simple, fun to drive and makes a good deal of noise
i think it's funny that you talk about how Ford is the one that popularized direct injection and turbocharging, when VW had been putting the first generation 2.0T engine in quite a few vehicles for years before any mention of EcoBoost or Hyundai turbo. they are the ones that really showed this country that turbo engines could be smooth, efficient, powerful, and not limited to high-end German luxury sedans.
+jon368100 Chrysler started it all in the 80's!
I really like all that shifting option in 1 car. I hope this trend catch on
Sonatas are certainly go to cars since I see these more than Camrys in my area.
WOW first time i hear him actually liking a car!
For 274 horsepower and 34 MPG highway, thats very good. Thumbs up Hyundai!
You're right. But he is reviewing SE model. Pano roof is available for limited model.
I'm currently driving the '07 Accord Coupe V6, but I'd love to try this Sonata Turbo.
I love my sonata (:
That's coming from an 18 female! Good car to start out on! Looove it :D

I agree.
I can't wait for you to do a review on the 2013 Accord!
I have a 2012 Sonata 2.0T Limited. I agree with everything you said. I leave the Eco mode off.
Love love love my Sonata!
but I absolutely love everything else about my sonata and it gets up and goes with a tap of the gas pedal. I love it.
I own a 2012 2.0T Limited w/o Nav. There's not another car that can compare to mine for $26K brand new!! It's loaded, even to include features other cars in it's class don't. nice i like this car. definitely going to think about it when my lease is up
It may not have more horsepower than the 2013 Accord V6, but it delivers more torque at 269 ft.-lb.
274hp for an inline 4? That's impressive.
Beautiful car
VW has been doing Small displacement Engines with Turbos and Direct Injection for awhile now.
ya, Korean cars like Hyundai and Kia are low price and cheap with better fuel economy, more techs, and more horsepower, BUT Korean car are not made to be long last, most Korean car start to have major issues at or even before 100,000 miles. most people know that but they still buying it because of the body style
I drive a Honda and I love these new Sonatas. Watch out, I'm a rebel, internet! Cx

I have a Turbo Limited 2013 and I don't have the Sound Equalizer in mine....
Altima!
Ten years later I have to smash the touch feature on the radio to get it to work
22/34 that's quite a difference between city and highway.
I own a 2006 accord but I'm getting this one
Believe you cant get pano roof with SE model. To get pano roof you gotta step up and get limited model.
Impressive... But the price is little bit expensive though UVO is kia's system
1. Camry
2. Accord
3. Altima
4. Sonata
still has a long way to go =]
He loves optima. He did a review of optima 3times..
From Honda to hyndai to honda step it up
I get over 40 MPG highway on mine.
2011 Limited F2.4GDi
I have a 2011 Limited with the dimension audio system. Can I upgrade to the nav system and if so what mods would I need to do?
Great interview. Can u test the 2012 Camry SE!!!
The Sonata received J.D. Power and associates award for most reliable midsize car based on the 2010 model. That should say something about reliability. There are over 35 lawsuits against Hyundai and Kia nationwide.
Have you done the 2013 Camry already?
way different styling and shaping.
I agree with Simon accord did really copied genesis rear end. Hyundai is getting better now
Brian, can u review the 2013 Mercedes Benz GL 450 and Audi Q7 TDI prestige??
@thermographer227 why do you leave the Eco off?
open a new tab, go to the store app, and look for ad blocker and download it
I love my 2013 sonata se . I got one 25k walk out . Honestly the quality of the car isn't put together as good as others. And the turbo more like 230hp on the dyno . Although they claim 270
Cooley's done an F-150 review before
274hp + 34MPG......Uhhhhhh...best car in the world??
What about the 2013 Nissan Altima ?
accord or sonata?
ay, my ripped boxing instructor owns an accord. my taekwondo teacher has a infiniti m
Where do i get this add blocker from? I use chrome. and I have a Mac.

what about 2013 kia optima
OMG, enough with the offensive comments to anyone who buys/likes Hondas or Toyotas!
OK, so this guy said it holds each gear nearly to red line when he slides the shifter over... Into the manual shift mode... Well duh! You now control the shifting (for the most part)! If you don't want it red lining shift it up!
Do all 2013 sonata limited come with the 2.0 turbo?
No. Not all.
wrong title....its 2012 Sonata
Def bad in snow with stock tires. But I bought a 2013 Sonata SE 2.0T with the Premium Package, have about 13K on it......I LOVE this car. I hear lots of different gripes, but I love this thing. It's competitors being affordable midsize sedans....Toyota Camry, Nissan Maxima, Honda Accord, Ford Fusion, Chevy Malibu, etc...
The numbers speak for themselves, sir. Sorry you don't like them, but you don't need to.
Jeffrey Werther Do you still like this car? I'm going to test drive this 2013 Sonata 2.0T
Why do u guys wanna see the new Nissan Altima, it just the old Maxima.
wanna see the new honda accord, please
chop chop
Why?

2013 model looks a lot like the genesis, especially the rear. overall looks sluggish
I have the sonata limited 2.0 turbo and I don't have the nav, pisses me off because that's the only thing I don't like about mine, the sound system could sound better.
James Barela do all 2013 limiteds come with the 2.0 turbo, or is it a whole separate package?
I know, right? If I buy the limited and the 2.0 turbo, I should automatically get navigation.
@@6atlantis not all limiteds come with turbo. Some non limiteds have the 2.0 turbo.
This car is second only the 2013 Ford Fusion
Can someone tell me about the interior noise of sonata at high speeds..? Is it similiar to camry, accord or a bit noisy..?
It's a bit noisy and rides a bit rough, I attribute it to the low profile rims and tires. that's one thing I don't like, I wish it rode smoother and quieter but I just turn the radio up really high anyway
There is lots of road noise.
This is not the Sonata Limited, this is the Sonata Turbo
+I5h001 Pdz limited is the tech package
Limited is the trim turbocharged is the engine, duh
@@robort256 I wish😢
VELOSTER TURBO!!!
The 2013 Accord is so hard to use....

Cars are overpriced and ppl are being dumb and being forced to finance them over 7-8 years! No one keeps a car that long! The 0 percent interest isn't actually 0. Its just included in your payments. Wake up ppl!
its kinda bullshit when ads are 30 seconds long and my comp needs to buffer the video but it cant start because it has to buffer the fucking ad
But the Genesis rear end looks like it's copied from a Mercedes, however....
oh, who am I kidding? ALL car companies copy from each other.
From where I'm from this car would be taxed 200% more then its default value.
Try google Malaysian Car Prices and taxation.
This car is very bad in snow.

+aks2013 Because they figured you are smart enough to not drive a FWD family sedan in the snow.
Jackass
Not more boring than the sonata
check out hyundai Sonata's start up on my page
hahaha, Thanks.
New acord
Hi
opps
get ad blocker
Knife edge lolol
I can't wait for you to realize Accord is a bland looking car... efficient, reliable etc but boring and bland as well, just like the Camry.
