Excellent job!!!! Been thinking about buying some primered bumpers because I didn’t think you could effectively paint over chrome. I stand corrected! Again, excellent work!!!!
i restored a old vintage chainsaw and the plastic carry case was plastic and full of oil , i took the carry case to the car wash and cleaned it good it was full of bar oil ,, it was textured so i couldnt sand it , i sprayed it with some bulldog and i couldnt belive how good the paint stuck to that plastic , i even took it back to the car wash to test it and not one flake came off under high pressure that stuff is amazing ... bulldog is my favorite for sure on plastic , i hope that info helps you out bro !
i learned this trade back in 1990's in voacational school, iam thinking getting back into it again, anyways the paints and undercoats have changed alot, but thats cool no biggie, good tips as always.
Just some advice from one painter to another. You may have wanted to use 80 grit then step it up to 220 or 320 DA to sand down the Chrome then maybe the adhesive promoter (not sure if it makes that much of a difference when dealing with chrome) then use self Etching
I just want to paint the chrome bases of my kitchen ceiling lights with Krylon... but I got a whole lesson here. I may never do this, but I'm glad I watched.
nice work bro! you should do a video of how to actually paint chrome, like if you wanted to make your door handles chrome. i’m not sure if you’d paint to make them chrome but if you do, you should make a video on it!
I to would love some info on this, the only stuff I have seen is that crazy water/chrome application, cool but you need a different setup than regular painting. Another cool cat a subscribe to is “custom spray mods” and he used a chrome product that looked great on a helmet,I will try to find it.
i've notice on these auto body and painting videos lots of folks have thier own way of doing these tasks, anyways, Clint Eastwood once said, opinions are like asso;s everyone has one, great job as always, lots of folks also tell me you can't do it like that or this, but i prove them wrong, i don't listen to knuckleheads.
yeah i sanded my chrome down before painting and it defintely looked better than shiny chrome. more a brushed aluminium look, nice and soft. no harsh reflection like chrome. but i sprayed black and looks much better
Great Job ! Thumbs Up !. I've been wanting to paint a set of Hummer Wheels that are Chrome. Thanks for showing how to do it. Really enjoy your video's.... Thanks.....

I can make a video, but i dont understand putting a plastic primer on a non plastic surface for adhesion, Chrome is a nikkel metal and needs a metal primer. Als no explanation on the qeustion.
why, why, why, if you know what your doing do it your way, its that simple, just because someone does it different than someone else, hey thats the way it is, as long as the job last a long time who gives a rats ass what detour you take.

@@PHARRAWAY No worries, you will get there. Quick comment, thenquestion... You used a 120 grid sandpaper for thechrome, then no other higher grid sandpaper to smooth out the sealer. So I'm assuming there was no scratches out on the final product. So, the question is... Was the sealer thick enough to cover the 120 sandpaper grip?
@@RS-lt2ue Yes and there was no scratches with the sealer the chrome is super smooth all you need it's to scratch the crome so that the adhesion promoter has somthing to grip to
