We towed it with us to go deer hunting and no hill was too steep or river too deep. Made for toughness. Push button start and had a 327 small block engine swap. BEAST! Traded it later on for a Ford Mustang Cobra II (just like Farrah's on Charlies Angels with with blue stripes)!! Good trade, great cars both

Old automobiles although I don't see them as old... simply hurt by time and younger judgmental modernist people who never except anything past 2010, but ""older automobiles"" have a charm and set of gift that comes with it. With a modern car, you get it and you just think "alright, this is it I am out on the road in my new car", with an older automobile and I mean anywhere from 60 horsepower (36 mph) in a tonneau 1901 to 400 horsepower in a 1958 Mercury, both very very well for each time era..you get an offer of beauty, enjoyment, and many smiles all for so much cheaper yet higher quality than modern cars that have no glory and beauty to it.

The Jeepney became the most popular means of transportation in the Philippines since then & it's part of the Filipino culture

How did it start that quick? My Willy’s MB takes at least 3 attempts when cold!

I was literally shocked. I sometimes have a hard time with my 46, especially if it’s been sitting for a few months.

Fantastic cars. What I don't get my head around is, with a car that's all open, no doors intended, a roof that is a mere piece of cloth, a folding windscreen: Why on earth would you make an opening mechanism for the windscreen _into_ the folding frame? I was told the Jeep was built to be as light as possible, so why would you do something that nearly doubles the weight of the windscreen frame? There must be a reason to this. Please, someone tell me.

Now you just need some military markings, a mounted ww2 radio, and play In the mood as you go along!

They do jump around a fair amount, but normally not THAT much. It would appear as if he has a bad ground, or loose wire on the sending unit.

Many years ago I acquired a 1943 (supposedly) CJ2A with split windshield. It had a title that said it had been assembled from spare parts at the Red River Arsenal. It had the standard 4 cylinder engine, shifter for high and low range and a third stick to select four wheel drive. I had it torn down preparing to repair the cracked bell housing and got another job in a distant city. I called a friend and just gave it to him as it sat. Years later he wrote me and told me he had it running and titled. I often wonder where that old beast ended up.
