Isn't that insane? I didn't realize it took them half a decade to get it out.

I have been an avid follower of Scott's work for years, lovesliescrushing is such a beautiful project and I'm so glad to see people covering it. Great video, keep exploring cool music like this!

Scott Cortez is extremely underrated. Kevin Shields drained Creation Records’ bank account, while using state-of-the-art resources, and over across the pond, Scott was running circles around Kevin’s guitar texture work all while using the DIY recording technology of the time.

I haven’t listened to these fabulous albums in a while. I remember being obsessed with lovesliescrushing and Windy and Carl all those years ago.
Half-String and Alison’s Halo were great too. Thank you for this great information and inspiration.

Hey there! I'm glad this video reminded you of those memories. I love Alison's Halo but I'm not familiar with Half-String. I've downloaded their "A Fascination With Heights" album and will give it a listen. Thanks for your kind words!

@@StainedGlassStories cool. Half-String were from Arizona, and if I remember correctly Alison’s Halo were from there too. Lycia were cool, icy soundscape/darkwave , also on Projekt and from Arizona as well.

hey, you guys should totally make a video on ozean. you probably know who they are but in case you don’t they were a very short lived shoegaze group from the 90s that only released three tracks. I know this is said about a lot of shoegaze music, but I truly mean it that they made some really beautiful and ethereal music. i’d argue even more ethereal than slowdive. I (and im guessing a lot of people too) would love an interview with one of the members or at least a video on this truly underrated band if possible! cheers!

    YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!!!
I love this album so much and I listen to it at least every month, often every week! I don't really break it down by track, but my favourite is definitely Bones of Angels, and well worth the hour-long journey to get there.

They made a handful of weird albums, including Crwth which is manipulated vocals. Scott is very approachable, and Melissa was studying to be a medical doctor inbetween the recordings.

it's a reference to a large beautiful seashell that belonged to my mother and that i would put to my ear and listen to all the time as a child, my first encounter with ghostly drone, and the imaginary sea.
