Was it the sm58 at first? It’s crazy how good that mic is sold my tlm 102 and use it for podcasts and music! It’s crazy how good it is! Also have a great channel strip, and the neat worker bee, condenser which is even better for music!
Interesting. No, I don't see this working on your voice, but I would not be surprised if it sings on certain instruments on some genres of music. I have been to Russia several times and their sense of visual and graphic design can be quite amazing. While Russia is not known for building quality cars or watches, fortunately their mics hit the mark. And the craftsmanship of their artisans is incredible.

Really I hope you do it forever but remember to rest, recharge your batteries, see your friends, your friends, your family, your love too. Not so long ago we almost lost all that, during covid time, and I think now when I look back that a lot of people have returned to this "train train contidiens" (in French) before covid, much exhausting and much more dangerous for yourself and those around you than those covid-time. Time line end: Of course, your voice on this mic is strange, like fourty- fifties years as you tell on old radio mic. But it's a way to introduce us to old mic... An very old mic from a time when nobody of us where born... with a tube amp and all that old stuff, are you able to do it?
Sadly I needed to send the mic back. I had it longer than I wanted to. I may buy one And I see my family a lot.....and agree with you how important ALL of that is. Rest assured ..I don't take much time from those things. As I only record 1 hour per week 🤜🤛
Solid as usual review Bark. I know a lot of folks are pretty passionate about ribbon mics and it’s nice that you keep bringing us more obscure ones. However, I really like the sound of the microphone you started the video with! Is that your Daly driver, and what is it?
It is worth remembering that Russia is still waging a criminal war in Ukraine. Oktava is a company that provides military equipment to these criminals. By advertising Oktava microphones, we support crime. Meanwhile, there are microphone manufacturers in Russia who had the courage (at great risk) to protest against this war. Such a declaration was made, for example, by the manufacturer of the best Russian microphones - e.g. Nevaton.
what a bullshit. this is old Soviet mic produced in late 70s- 80s. Has nothing to do with modern Putins Russia.
Can do the black out thing for members only. Hey bark… can you see if the sm7b pop filter will fit on that?! 😂😂 (@audiohotline) Thanks for the non political comment… i got roasted for doing the Soyuz mic which is an American company… That thing sounds really nice on voice… probably not something id use for instruments but dang it sounds really nice, and i think it sounds good on your voice even if you dont. I have a bunch of “stand” mics that i never use but just look pretty. May have to put this on my long list.
in soviet union, microphone speak into you

Yep 58. And yeah it’s kinda nuts for sure
Oktava has made some really good mics. I like the sound of that one. It is a tad thin on the bottom, but not bad.
Yeah it's solid. Think I was hoping for a little more fullness and a tad less bright
That is too cool! I need to bring you more . . .
I have to find time to play with the astatics you brought!

I really wish I'd traveled more. And yeah I can see that mic being really cool on a lot of different instruments
Such a cooling-looking mic... and such a cool-looking shirt! 😜
"comment bomb me" 🤣🤣
Coolest shirt I own!
very beautiful microphone and top audio
Absolutely gorgeous
Pretty close to 500 bucks used I think it's pretty smooth and definitely Looks the Part
500 is too hurtful on the wallet sadly. But yeah, I kinda love it despite the fact I wouldnt use it much
Looks like a mic meant for the starship Enterprise 1960’s… Captain Kirk podcast very nice and sleek
Heck yeah! Or it fits in with the black suited storm troopers
@@ObscureMics oooo even better!
You should check the sE RNR 1 , Rupert Neve ribbon microphone
Would love to. I guess the worst sE could say is no lol
the good ole solviet Microphone. Great review man as always Like a pro and my favorite Mic reviewer fun fun fun.
I'd love to buy just a shell and make a condenser

I wonder if this one needs a new ribbon or if it was ever reribboned, some people swear by these after they get a new ribbon in there
should be a warm sounding microphone without getting too dark
Not sure but in talking to some other owners....this is accurate to their experience
Great Mic
One of the coolest I've ever put on the boom
I HAVE ONE OF THESE
CAN CONFIRM
Nice!
Old trusty oktava 🥰
So nice

Thank you! The mic I opened with is the plain old sm58. It's grown on me a lot
It’s a studio and stage classic for a reason 👍🏻
This mic would cut in the car as you talk about sometimes.
Say what now?
You’d hear it well through the sounds of car on the road due to its EQ cut.
Ahhh yes that's probably true!
Anywaaaaay… I’m still getting over the bow in your hair, sorry!
This is why I haven't offered up my Electro-voice RE2000 to be showcased. Way too obscure to loose
I would 100% say I couldn't do it ....cause you are right. That's impossible hard to find

Soyuz is a Russian company and their production line is also located in Russia. You can even get this information on their website.
