    Bout to have to go over to Grafton to get the dust knocked off of my recurve bow. Thanks for the inspiration!

    If you move that clicker base up the limb a couple of inches, you will end up with a much shorter cord for it. Less likely to get snagged on brush

    That bow turned out awesome. Looks like you shoot it well. Great arrow flight too. The speed is where it should be for a longbow. Faster than ours that I talked to you about with same weight and same weight arrow for sure. I want to see what everyone else wants to see. Want to see you harvest a deer with that thing haha. Keep up the good content.

    Dude. That’s some nice flight you’re getting. Nice shooting too.

    Nice setup! There’s another option to keep your arrow on the shelf, search “stop the drop arrow holder”, I don’t use anything for that but one thing I can tell you is that rubber tube works great but will leave a tan line everywhere it covers if you ever decide to remove it, anything the sun or UV light has hit will be noticeably darker. For the hip quiver check out The Hipster, you won’t be disappointed

    Excellent critique. Stalkers are some of the best out there. I'm no trad form expert but you look pretty good. I too use the Whitewater Ranger arrows. Found them a couple of years ago at ETAR. I'm only pulling about 40 lbs on most of my bows now due to age but I love them. Using mainly 600s but a couple of my bows can handle the 500s depending on what point weight I'm using. If you would, try to convert some of your compound followers to the trad scene. At least give it a try. Those who have can't get enough of it. Look at Jake Kaminski shooting his first longbow. He said he's never had so much fun shooting a bow. Keep up the good work.

    I've tried to use a clicker a few times because I do think they are a great tool however every time I try to use one it totally messes me up mentally. I focus so much on trying to get the click that I lose focus of everything else. Grew up shooting these bows not knowing a darn thing about precision shooting so I'm sure that has alot to do with it. I do alot better job just trying to focus on anchor. That bow looks awesome

      @BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial  5 месяцев назад

      I definitely have to remind myself to continue pulling. If I don’t, I will hit the click and begin to relax.

    Love the set up man! Been looking at getting whitewater wraps myself! Jut another shooting method that you could try too is a fixed crawl. It’s essentially your string walked 25 yard point on but you know your gaps for 20 and 30. For me if a deer is 30 I hold top of the back on a deer with my 25 yard point on. For anything under 25 I hold right at the bottom/armpit. The push archery channel did a video on it man. Super awesome way to shoot and hunt with. At the end of the day it’s whatever works for you!

      I’ve been playing with that style of shooting as well. I actually watched their video on that a couple of weeks ago. They are a wealth of knowledge.

    Did you say 51lb @ 26”? I’m curious, why 26” and not 28”? Draw length?

  • @JB-ig5pk
    @JB-ig5pk 5 месяцев назад +1

    You’re draw is so short cause your form kinda sucks
    Get better alignment and you could increase by prob two inches and get more speed…sad to see a bow like that not preforming at its potential

    • @BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial
      @BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial  5 месяцев назад +2

      Haha thanks for the input, but my draw is so short because I am short. My draw length only measures 27”. I wish changing form would give me 2 more inches of draw length, but God had other plans for me, and height wasn’t one of them..

      @@BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial What is your compound bow draw length? If you are in proper alignment your Trad Bow will have a longer DL. You are hunched over and you're not in alignment. You can easily pick up 1-2" with just that fix. I picked up 2 1/4" in 15 minutes with a coach. You said you are new to trad. Lose the trad lean it doesn't help anything and makes it harder to get into alignment. Stand up and proud like you do shooting your compound and your alignment will be much better and you don't want to use anything but a fixed crawl once you switch to broadheads. Then adjust your hold up or down like a fixed single pin sight. Or keep your fingers up under the arrow and learn to Gap shoot. Clay Hayes has a great video on mapping your gap.

    • @BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial
      @BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial  4 месяца назад

      I’m not sure that I understand this one. If someone’s draw length measures at 27”, how is it comfortable or accurate for that person to shoot a 29” draw, whether that be with a traditional bow, or a compound? Common consensus is that if form is correct, your trad bow and compound draw length would be the same, or very close.

      Rick knows what he’s talking about👍🏽

    • @rickgoing7027
      @rickgoing7027 4 месяца назад +1

      @@BuffaloCreekOutdoorsOfficial actually due to the length of string wrapping around your fingers the bow drawn back to the same draw length will be longer than the compound. Also the extra length of the D loop is added when using your fingers. Your shoulders are hunched. So you said here your draw length with your compound is 27”. If so I believe you said you had a 26” on your trad bow. With proper alignment you will pick up that much and based upon your form probably more. I am a level 2 coach and passed the online portion of the level 3 NTS coaching certification waiting on getting my face to face practical. I have shot a compound for over 40 years and barebow for the last two years. I was where you are two years ago. Working with Matt Yacca at the Single String Boot Camp last year I picked up over 2” within minutes of him showing me proper alignment. We don’t have good coaches by me other wise I would be using one for myself. At this years bootcamp he said my alignment is way better than last year but said I am still almost an inch short of where I would be if I wasn’t trying to self coach myself on video. This is your first trad bow it sounds like. The 50# is making it hard to get into proper alignment. Get a Samick Sage and not more than 35-40 pounds and work on your form. I guarantee you will be drawing it farther than you are drawing your long bow. I shot 75 pounds most of my life. I am shooting between 40 and 45 lbs with my barebow and trad bows. It’s more than enough for anything in North America. My 41lb hunting bow is shooting a 549 grain arrow at 168 fps. That’s faster than most people’s 50-55lb bows.
