This is literally amazing. It fixes every little quirk with OFP/CWA without fundamentally changing the original game.
This is so awesome. Still love OFP more than Arma series. Had the best multiplayer time in my life with that game
got ARMA not too long ago from GOG and have been having fun with the WW4 EXT mod, i will have to look into this mod, seems to have a crazy amount of improvements!!!!

Damn bro I just installed this last night and I have to say that this mod is one of the most impressive mods of any game that I've ever played, mostly because I don't even get how you've managed to change this much. This feels like it's supposed to be Operation Flashpoint 2, I probably couldn't go back to the original game after playing this.
The thing that's even more fascinating to me is that older games are supposedly harder to mod because of the engine limitations or something, but you've literally managed to change how this game feels to play, the movement especially is a lot better and the third person perspective finally feels like it's a viable way to play the game, except that crosshair is not where the bullets actually go to but I actually kinda like that. And the amount of new things added overall is just absurd, single missions are even changed to a degree and some of them play out more realistically than they had before (they make more sense), not to mention that it seems that there are a lot more options to how the leader can command the group (I haven't actually checked that out yet but the AI leaders are giving a lot more commands than they used to).
Thanks for making this, going through the campaign again will be a blast now!
I'm not the creator of the mod, but it is nice. There are problems like being very prone to crashing and not everything working in multiplayer. SLX + WGL has been my favorite single player experience when it has worked though.
I was testing the mod, and one feature of the mod that I found to be good is that you can zoom in or out when aiming with iron sights or by pressing the V key, how could I use that feature in vanilla mode without mods? Is there a file that can be copied from @slx to the root folder of the game so that it can be done?

Thank you, awesome video and awesome mod! I have a question though..Can I somehow disable this "auto-prone (suppressed) under enemy fire" feature for my character? It gets slightly annoying when you're trying to get somewhere quickly and being fired upon.

I'm pretty sure the wounds, melee, and surrender would alter the behavior of the AI in ways that would detract from the atmosphere even if the certainly dynamic breaking GL3 is disabled. SLX is also known for causing frequent crashes with its resource consuming effects like tracers and cloudlets that would need config replacement to change, so it's too risky to use for such a long mission even with the 40 saves available. World War 4 mod 2.5, and /or even its expansion WW4 Extended might be ok if you want low resource consuming but better looking character models and lighting without changing the vanilla weapons, armor , or AI (much). Maybe FDF mod would be ok, since all I think it would alter is the weapon sway and any fire effects. If one were to use (an) SLX and wanted better stuff for that mission, then maybe trying FFSX (FFUR + SLX) 2007 or '85 (2008 / 2011 version) which include SLX but have GL3 turned off by default and also include more detailed units and terrain, though that could further increase risk of crash. Tupas mod might be ok, but idk for sure.
Outside of a "full" mod, one could use whatever version of DMA Lean or WW4 animations to be able to lean, roll, raise up, etc. and that would make things easier on the player but it wouldn't be fair to the AI (if you care about that) since they can't use all the animations. There is one "minimod" someone shared on the larger ofp/acwa Facebook group that has the animations and model replacement but without all the WW4 mod config and features and that might be ideal, but I'll have to look for it. I'm not someone who cares a lot about graphics, but BI themselves stated that they would have redone the models if they had had time to since those were some of the first parts of the game to be done and they show it. OFP and Original Rainbow Six models are really blocky, and the OFP ones have that odd warped chest and bent limbs all the time look.
Wow thanks for the thorough answer! I might have to stay away from SLX for abandoned armies. I am using SLX for the original campaign which is way better than A2 and A3. Ill check out the WW4 mod.

The two links I had up until now were ones meant for ofp 1.96, which has a somewhat different layout. Trying to run the setup in 1.99 won't work since the instructions will point to non existent folders.

Also for playing campaign, there is the WGL mod which has had many missions and the original campaign remade for it. I may make features videos for it and the other mods. SLX has some compatibility files and can be run with many other mods to include wgl. I'm currently trying to fix a few issues with wgl, and maybe might try to add to it in the future. If I can avoid conviction and ever have freedom and time and money I may ask if Drongo can update some of his content or help me with things. I'll link to the armaholic page foxhound set up for me, the ofpinfo replacement, and some others if you want to look around.

BurnerTactical exactly, the single player campaigns in OFP (Arma: Cold War Assault) are of much higher quality than anything later. It appears that Arma, Arma 2 and Arma 3 are only better in terms of graphics engine.
I recommend using FFUR 85 (2008) mod for full immersion. The sounds, graphics and AI are excellent...

Hello I know this is an old video. I just wanted to tell you that your mod is great but I have a problem that they show me half of the HUD for my weapons no matter what resolution I am playing on and it doesn't happen here on your video
Install Fwatch, which contains aspect ratio correction files, replace the appropriate file, and make sure your resolution is right. Should help.

Yes, but it's not quite as necessary. The base game has a little bit better animations, textures, and models compared to OFP. The magazines and fire modes are more accurate as well. GL5 / TCL / GLX does the AI stuff that GL3 does in SLX. The major thing is that A3 lacks melee and doesn't have the default animations that ofp does for strokegun and strokefist, making something similar harder to implement. There are mods that allow players and zombie AIs to use melee, though so it is doable.
@@sethbarcello5099 its that to have the same things in A3 you can but youd need a lot of mods to do similar stuff ( AI wont take proper cover though)
Is there a way to remove penalization for killing wounded enemies? Having wounded enemies prevents me from progressing in the main campaign since the game's scripts expect me to clear some areas before advancing on to new objectives
If you mean surrendered enemies, the surrender can be disabled by opening with a text editor the SLX_GL3_Settings.sqf file in the @SLX mod folder and about 3/5ths of the way down you'll see:
Disable Group Link 3 Effects
...
// Disable surrendering. Surrendering is enabled by default.
//SLX_NoSurrender = 1;
Remove the slashes in front of the " //SLX_NoSurrender = 1; " line for :
// Disable surrendering. Surrendering is enabled by default.
SLX_NoSurrender = 1;
Save and then the enemies won't surrender and you should be able to kill them without penalty. There is so much in the mod that can cause problems with different missions and the campaign that just not running it is often best. I usually only use mods for missions that I or others make for them.

It can be combined with WGL and other mods. Look in the compatibility configs folders in the SLX mod folder.

hey seth, i was playing the game yesterday and i feel the aiming is very bad, the iron sight is completely wrong with over the gunshots, and the game is hard to play with it, do you know how to fix the aiming ?
I don't know a way to fix the inaccuracy in SLX. I think it's just one of the bad things about it. Since OFP iron sights are 2D, increased shake necessarily throws it off of aim.

Why does one need this when CUP terrains mod has these maps with ARMA 3 graphics and physics? Even the assets are available.. 🤔
Arma 3 doesn't have AI useable melee weapons or vanilla female units which OFP has. Arma has mechanics that penalize players who aim and take cover properly and which give AI unrealistic and unfair advantages, mechanics that are absent from OFP. ruclips.net/video/b6bWaeSN9iM/видео.html

The installer seeks the flashpointresistance.exe which isn't in cwa 1.99. Dripping the mod folder into the game directory does work, though.
what's the keybind for the vehicle smoke launchers?

There are still so much stuff that I haven't tried in this game. I've uploaded a few rare videos abiut this game, too. This year, I'll mostly cover the original title as it 20th anniversary of the greatest game in my life.
How does the ''drag the wounded'' work dude? is it just the 1 soldier under the ''SLX wounds'' category or all?

@@sethbarcello5099 8 months late, but i fucking finally understood, i was confused on why you couldn't drag the wounded/make people critically wounded it was just that i messed up something, i initially thought the soldier under the "slx wounds" category was the only one that could be "injured".
@@somefurryguy1811 Any units which are, or that inherit from standard classes with the mod running and wounds enabled should be effected by SLX Wounds.
@@sethbarcello5099 I understand now, thank you for responding even afte like 2 years, i would also like to take the opportunity to ask about the grass, i've read something about the grass catching on fire if you shoot it enough with anything that has traces, i've tried HMG's(Default ones.) HE rounds you get the point yet it doesn't seem to do it ?.

Tupas, lol clan, polish resistance groups still play, and other servers are up. The ofpmonitor app can show you publicly visible servers and connect you to them. Html5point page displays ips if you want to manually input and direct connect.

In the video description I have a link to my SLX install for ARMA CWA. Download that and unpack it with a file archiver ( zip , rar , uniextract , etc.) place the unpacked mod folder into the game directory.

SLX will likely break any campaign or mission that wasn't made with the mod, *assuming you have the GL3 communication enabled*.

@@gruntone4601 I should specify that I mean with all default features enabled. If you disable the wind ballistics and especially the GL3 maneuvers and information sharing between units, it might be ok.

Place the extracted folder inside your game folder so it's something like:

Then add a mod command to launch parameters in either shortcut or steam library listing:

If you are wounded and they revive you and you drop your weapon(s).
Atleast in the beta version, I've also been "captured" by simply being unarmed and being close to them. I found this by testing something in the editor while putting my unit as setcaptive.

Yes, but you'll have to install in a nonstandard way. Either extract from a pre installed archive which I think I have linked in description and comments, or rename or add file of flashpointresistance.exe.
