Fun fact:On the PS2 the water in the Hydrus arena used to be bottomless. On occasion it would do a deep dive and if you lost your grip it could take nearly a full minute to float back to the surface!

I remember that. Pure nightmare fuel. If I was near something that large and I accidentally went that deep. I'd go mad with fear and just stab myself with my swore
You shot the tail off the lizard, consumed it, then murdered the same lizard for no reason you big meanie.
I only just realised it was the same lizard when I was editing the video, whilst I was playing I thought it was different lizard xD

Opinion in French is Opinionouisie, hau hau hau. Oh, that lizard you killed - you shot it in the tail, so it broke off and the lizard ran away. Then you killed the lizard. For science. You monster. The blue tails give you more stamina. The black tails only replenish health, according to a wiki.
I really enjoy watching you play this game and i love your voice, your voice is so amazing, calme and clear and pretty cool ;)

Oh and if you are under water and your stamina runs out, you won't die. Your character will just swim back up.
And the 8th Colossus looks like a giant lizard which you've been looking for. It doesn't have a white tail though so meh :D

The drowning thing is actually a lie in the remake. I learned that the hard way against Hydrus.
So here's what happened:
There was actually a strategy I read on the *ICO and SOTC wiki* where you can pass the first two electric spines without taking them out, and getting the final one since it protects it's head.
I tried it, and it actually worked. Despite the fact I lost more than half my health in the process (mostly since I didn't pass the two spikes fast enough). I got to the head, and took away almost all of it's health in that one trip. It decided to go down deeper after a while with 25% of it's health still remaining, and I had no choice but to let go.
Then, it occurred to me now that the developers for the remake wanted to be assholes and basically said "fuck you" to the players by adding drowning as a concept. I slowly saw my remaining health ticking away as Wander was trying to float back up. He drowned by the time he got to the surface.
This land would be a beautiful place to explore in real life for sure

Katarina No Kami when is it a one shot and when not? She get hit from this yellow balls before but didn't die. Whats the difference between his shots?
That happens because if u leave the poison cloud, it stops damaging completely :D
but if u stand on hit, pretty sure the poison can take all ur health bar in matter of 2-3 seconds :D

Great walkthrough as always. Something funny I noticed is that serious squint thing you do with your eyebrows while you play is the exact same thing I do. I could just be walking in the game but my face will say I am attempting to defuse a bomb

@48:57: those are actually doves surrounding Mono's alter and they mirror the number of shadows that surround you each subsequent colossus defeat. The light and dark elements released when the idols are destroyed.

a little tip, you can actually take the lizard's tail without killing the lizard itself, by only shooting your arrow only to it's tail (kind of hard sometimes)

Man, I can't get over how gorgeous this remake looks, and how the developers (who are the same crew who did the PS3 remaster, iirc) managed to make the game play the same (by the looks of it - haven't gotten to play this remake yet), while making useful tweaks to it.
I keep thinking the awe is gonna wear off, but it isn't. And why would it? The awe I felt at the PS2 version hasn't either.

Those two colossi are amazing!
You can eat the tail off the blue tailed lizards to increase your stamina. You can also find fruit trees around the world, and eat the fruit to increase your health. Every colossus killed obviously increases your health and stamina as well.

Kuromori is in my opinion one of the most frustrating collosi, it’s the poison nuke things and the tediousness
It was the same lizard, you first taked its tail and it is realy rare that they are still alive, but it was and it tryed to escape without its tail, and you were like: "Oh!, another lizard!". You shot it dead and were like: "why I did not get a tail"? ".

As soon as I saw the boss fight coming at 17:00 I noped the game. Legend of Zelda has shown me how much of a pain in the ass boss fights in water are. Lol.

Those gold coins are just collectibles. There are 79 in total and if you collect them all, you get a special sword that pretty much one-shots colossi.
Hey nuka if you collect every secret you unlock a really powerful sword

Now that you’ve made it through half of the colossi, have you started thinking about what you’ll play next? Have you ever played/do you have a copy of The Last is Us? It’s a very different game (with some similarities in themes and emotional resonance), but I think you’d really enjoy it. Another masterpiece.

the collectable. There is a total of 79 scattered around the entire map and hidden very well. I wont tell you what they are for, it isn't story related. If you look at the left bottom corner of the map, it displays the number you have found
1:10 You do not have to collect these coins, but if you find 79 of them you will get the sword of Dormin.
At the bottom left of the map you can see how much you have found.
That's probably revealing too much. May want to edit your comment to just keep the coin count and where to find it.

This Sword makes more dmg but u get less life regeneration

Here is a tip that shouldn’t be a spoiler, since it’s in your items and it gives you a description of what it does... when you go to map and items... you have the sword of life which you are not using...
you should use it, it will help you

Ah, OK. I'm from London and she sounds very English in places, but then has that RUclips Yankie Twang (tm) in parts - like Suzy Lu, who is also from Scotland. Makes people hard to place! :)
Then there was the couple of "bollocks" in the videos that made me think that she must either be from England - but there was a hint of something else in there I just couldn't place, so I presumed Australia.
Of course, I apologise unreservedly for accusing anyone of being Australian. :)
Haha I'm not from Scotland Thievius xD my Dad moved up there but I'm living outside London. I couldn't pin point Suzy Lu's accent, it didn't sound Scottish to me xD You know you're not the first to ask if I was from Australia, someone in America asked if I was whilst I was there on holiday, my accent is incredibly neutral though and very British so I donno how other people think I'm from other places xD Don't apologise, you were only asking :)
