Thanks for your videos. MRC should give you a kickback for helping me narrow down the best DCC system (and the TCS decoders) for my layout. My 82 year-old dad moved in with us and decided to go all-out on an HO layout. Okay... I'm in. We have the MRC Wireless and about 100 pieces of Atlas flextrax, turnouts and yada, yada. A 6 bedroom house is only 4. The rest is O and HO trains... plywood, wires, yada yada yada. You do more than you realize with your videos. You rock kid
Hey I was wondering how the mrc prodigy advances wireless works for you. Iv'e heard some good and bad things about it and was thinking about getting one for myself. What are some of the complications oyu've had with the system. How limited is it? And can u run the system on a smalley layout lke a 4x8 without buss lines. Hope to hear from you soon
How do you know the address functions and what you can program the rate at on each engine. For example: How do you know function 51 is one light vs function 52 and so forth. And how do you know 0 is steady lights and 2 is mars light, etc...????
It's meant to be a simple, inexpensive starter system. And it does thst well. It would work for your applications. My only complaint about it is the throttle knob isn't very responsive, but there are also push buttons for speed.
@spazman13579 did i hear you correctly that it has an 8-pin cable? that means its an RJ45 plug, yes? (im askng because i am about to buy one and I want to get some extra cable with it)
@NS2658 Yes; it's the same way. Your functions may be different (ex. functions 1 & 2 will be bell and horn, not extra lights), but other than that, it's the same.
I'm new to DCC I bought the MCR advance DCC system., trying to get my loco's off #3 I have no paper work on them there DCC on board they work on #3 but I can't or don't know how to program them to different number?
Is there a reverse-heading function (e.g.) two locos coupled to pull same train, one facing forward, another backward (common with F7 units). If they will have same address, will they resist each other or when loco is flipped by 180, decoder also flips polarity to the motor (such as the forward facing loco will go forward and backward-facing loco will go backward resulting in dual power)? I need advanced explanation on DCC topics because I plan to start in DCC, and need a lot of help. Thank you.
I mean when 2 locos consisted, facing different way, such as here readingrr*com|diesel|F7|274*jpg (use slash instead of | on the image link and period instead of *) while having the same address (to move at the same time) will their heading direction be the same under all circumstances (like on DC, turning locomotive by 180 will not change movement direction) or one of them has to be programmed to move backward on the forward-moving command in order not to resist but to help forward moving unit?

Thanks dude for the help, all my locomotive respond way better now🙏🏻
You've made a great instructional video. And that's a sweet locomotive. Nice looking layout during the runbys, too. Good job!
Pretty wild Spaz! Nice job!
1. You could briefly turn off the washing machine.
2. Function 2 is usually the horn, therefore non sticking button.
Me To.
Whoa!!! Nice!!! I'm gonna use this for my next engine. I'll give you a hint: its an intermountain.
I have a mrc prodigy advanced it works perfect but when I consist i loose sound and light
Can you please help
Thank you it worked, but it seems like the engines are cutting out ?

can you do a video on consisting? both new and old methods with the MRC?
Nice video, but tell me please, can the MRC Prodigy Express be used to control decoders with sounds? Thanks
Yes it can! There are limited functions (I believe only 14 on the Prodigy Express), but it can do it.
Hook up the purple wire to the front light and the green to the rear. Solder both the light + leads to the blue common wire.
Washing machine sounds like an idling diesel. :).
If you have a controller that has a start button will locos work with it if they just only move and have lights
Your comment makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Please reword and/or restate it.
Very well done, did you have to install the gyro light yourself?
I know this is an old video but how would you assign the head light of a locomotive to function 1 and the rear light to function 2.
That gp40 is good where can I get it for N?

It is in the decoder manual.
how do I change the location of the function keys, on the controller for a particular engine ?

Is this a known issue?
on your Prodigy Express, can you have ANY functions higher than 15 ? If so, HOW ??
Shift button

Yes, it's an 8 wire RJ45.

Do you know what the code to factory reset
so uh i have a problem. my engine won't stay still while im trying to program it

Start reading the manual and understand CV29.
DCC CIRCLE OF FUN.
what button is it to run horn?
I know this is an old video but if you didnt know function2 is always like that for all the systems i have used

It all begins with CV29.
D(L)+S. D being the price of the decoders you want, L being how many locomotives you want to convert, and S being the cost of your system.
Thanks for the advise
That's Cool..
AWESOME!!!😁🎈😁🎈😁🎈😁🎈😁🎈😁🎈😁🎈😁🎈
If u have a digitrax deocder in there u can remap that function
I don't really understand what you're asking. Just program the two locomotives as their own numbers (different addresses), and consist them.
My locomotive start off to fast. What could that be ?
Read the manual.
BTW...I WANT THAT ENGINE.
@luvtrns4evr I don't have sound in this unit, although I would consider putting sound in it.
Thanks
Yes.
@Seaboard1321 Thanks Austin!
@A10PANG Thanks!
@lespaulguy32 Thanks, and it sounds good!
Your decoder manual...
@A10PANG For $1200, YES!
I don't do N. I don't know.
rear headlight lol!
Um... okay...
