Hey Cam! Loved the video. I was wondering, how do you deal with the cold water temperature? I can't imagine the water is very warm up in England this time of year.
You don’t really feel the cold when you’re moving. Outside of that I have neoprene leggings if it’s pretty cold. I’ve talked about that in a previous video
Still seems a wee bit harsh! As they have a smallish number entering, wouldn’t it be better to have two races against the same oppo but swap sides of the course and average these out for qualifying to the qtr, semis etc. At least everyone then gets to race someone (which is why we love rowing), rather than just race the clock which with all the variables is really luck of the draw. Overall looking much tidier 😎
That would be pretty good! Although the racing started at 830 and finished at 530 with the format used so not enough time in the day really to add more!
Ahh, this is part of my cunning plan were you drop the x1 against the clock and swap out for racing side by side - everyone’s a winner (well, not literally if you’re beaten by the clock!) 😎
Love this coastal rowing journey!
Great vlog as always and exciting to hear your going to be mixing the flat water and the bumpy stuff this season #yamsquad
Much more fun with some surf!
Best of luck for tomorrow ;)
Thanks!

cheeky anti-crab move at 5:15
Are the boats provided by the regatta organiser?
Essentially yes!
Any chance you come back to Olympic rowing or is coastal rowing the move for you?
I know it’s a while off but can you come to the talkin tarn lake regatta on 6th July
Is there a time penalty for hitting the marker?
Nope. Fastest line is the straightest line but will get slowed down slightly hitting it wrong or penalty going round the wrong way like I said
