- In 2017 we hatched a plan for a massive 10k plant phenotype hunt and crossed large amounts of distinct population cannabis strains that would express diversity. These seeds are unlike our main varieties which are stabilized and have known uniform outcomes. The purposely diverse seed stock was shared amongst 15 cannabis farms and 10k unique plants were preserved in vegetative form (clones). The field plants were all rated and selections were made through our phenotype rating system and cannabinoid testing. The best .5 % of plants were retained and are now available in clone form and are being used in our breeding programs!
I love the consistency of each and every plant. Bug and mold resistant. Earlier harvesting allows me to quit worrying about bud rot and Powderly Mildew. Very satisfied with Humboldt seed company and I recommend fellow growers to see what they can do for you.

BTW my Royal Highness came out fire from last years outdoor. I usually battle mold here in the Bay Area but it was done right about the second week of September so no problems. Ive been growing & breeding cannabis for 30 years off and on and ive never ever smelt terpenes as pungent and pronounced as my Hella Jelly keeper. She is so melted jolly rancher pungent fruit with amazing growth structure and vigor. Hats off to the breeders in Humbolt for the dedication and love for the plant. Keep it up growmies. 🎉💥

So cool. Growing is more fun than consuming for me. Just wish the old heads would've done more to preserve the landrace/heirloom strains so we'd have more than just a bunch of hybrid inbred genetics. More THC isn't always better. The old methods of drying/curing also had an effect on the end product. While things have improved greatly overall, I wish the Golden Era methods & strains of the 1970s were more widely available.
Prohibition and raids took this stuff. And caused a serious era of mis information. Is such a shame
In south africa we still have all the landraces like durban poison, malawi gold, swazi gold etc & they literally grow wild in the valleys all across the country. There are thousands of people that just get their weed that way. Same way mushroom hunters go forage for mushrooms is how our people go pick weed - thats basically how everybody starts to smoke here they go pick some plants & try it. Durban Poison was then crossed multiple generations to produce all these hundreds of off shoot strains like girl scout cookies etc.

I'm doing my 1st indoor grow ever. I watched Home Grown TV doing a grow with the Blueberry Muffin. I said I need to grow this. The next day I ordered the seeds.
OMFG day 30 since I flipped to flower. I 4 of the most beautiful/pungent girls I've ever grown.
One pheno has a mutant stem. But it still looks amazing.

I think the bling was fascinating to watch grow 💯🤔 mine had extra branches (alot) and even numbered sets of fingers on the leaves for the majority of them 💯 like 2, 4 and 6

I respect the brand & the work you do but I believe the real Magic is in Original Landraces as it's where everything came from.

Unfortunately Dark Heart Nursery didn’t make it. Too big too quick and the Hops Viroid took them down. They had a damn good run in the prop215 days, lines around the block and people waiting overnight at Harborside just to get their clones. They had the biggest and best ones too.

5 strains 10 phenotypes is 50. Then u get maybe 1p% true outdoor.
Super lemon haze female 23 generations proper 7 phenotypes greenhouse. Lsd male supposed to be female fresh seed pre 2015 from barny farm. 100 seeds popped 98 from 100. Up to 10 phenotypes we named me and buddy shaun sld.
Then ak48 not sure from where same lsd male/female cross 85 to 100 good seeds. Did about 50 all crap. Called it trip16.
Some of those sld were so strong cornered market for while.
Purple blue black. Taste amazing 8 weeks strains smell like dirty laundry next to 0 trim. That's when u could buy seeds online and dig through and find good seeds. 2015 changed that

Definitely cannot clone during flowering. You’d probably flower part of the plants and keep the other part in veg. Making sure that you’re flowering specific phenotypes.
Or you take clones and flower those to test it out.
@@GlobuleProject u can clone in early flower but id still recommended cloning b4 for best results if i have no clones by wk 3 of flower i reveg after harvest and take the best clone for my new mother

Justin McGonigle The pheno-hunt is, in its essence, the opposite of a monoculture. Sure, it’s all cannabis, but they are actively maintaining all the genetic diversity available in the species through these crosses. Imagine if all tomatoes farmed in the valley were heirloom tomatoes.

Danj_p If your goal is to grow one crop than by its virtue you are maintaining a monoculture. Call it what you will, its still a risky venture.
