Kristen and Fabio, thank you so much for sharing my previous comment. Your kindness and generosity truly shine through in all that you do. It's amazing to see how you dedicate your time and effort to include your viewers in your journey. While you may not have the same stresses as those in corporate careers or living on land, I know there are still challenges that can weigh on you. Remember to take care of yourselves and prioritize your own enjoyment amidst all your hard work. You deserve to savor every moment of this incredible experience. Balance is the key. Keep shining bright!
I'm a 82 year old retired engineer and really like quality of what you present. I enjoy watching the the repairs, you are very talented. Also the video narration and scenes are excellent. I believe I'm watching a Poet and a surgeon. Stitching and knotting WOW!
Fabio surely enjoying a bit of sail surgery. Nice that Yoda's developing new hobbies; brave that she's chosen base jumping. Kristin, you've created a fantastic channel, I've enjoyed every episode. Some of us stuck in a rainy city would be happy just to stare at an open horizon - you've taken us on an adventure. Lovely dive!
There are many sailing channels that I appreciate watching. Yours is one that I first seek. The authentic You comes our with each episode. Thanks so much for bringing us along your very real and awe-inspiring adventure!
Every week, I find myself intrigued and entertained by your sailing adventures. Never in a million years did I consider learning so much from you both. Who in this world would imagine a stray current corroding every piece of metal on your catamaran? Seriously, who?!
Nothing in this life is really ever free , whether it’s the energy you put in to climbing up to see the fabulous views , the “boat work” you have to do to keep travelling to far off locations , training your breathing and holding your breath to allow you to spend longer under water to view the fantastic marine life, but the rewards are great and thank you for putting in the effort to share those experiences with all of us who are never going to be able to do all the things we see you do , but be assured we too are living our lives to the full , but in different ways. 😃🍻🥂
You brought us back to beloved Fatu Hiva!!! Zen hasn’t been there in 14 years. Pre-Starlink, pre-YT, only SSB. Your gorgeous and generous video gave me chills & tears. Someday if we ever meet, I’ll tell a very unique story that happened w our young kids in that windy deep anchorage!!! Thank you for taking us back, rekindling our fond memories. All love! Mahalo! Treasure these videos as a lifelong keepsake 😘😘
Great show guys.😄 Wow what a view from up there! Kristen, you have a heart of gold, and it shows in all the videos! No fakeness at all! Fabio, you are a very lucky man. I loved your vascular repair, and the stent was ingenious. 😂
😂😂😂 thankfully I had a graft! Interesting point that the sail is made of Dacron, same material of some vascular grafts 😂😂 I am very fortunate and thank the world every day for Kristin 🙏
Marquesas... The views, the people, the life! I can never gat enough of those beautiful islands. I kinda knew of them a long time ago but it wasn't until Survivor: Season 4 that I actually looked them up and learned something about them. Thank you for these vids.
Wonderful channels garmer wonderful viewers! I just loved that you shared his comment! I watch yall every week! My dream is to one day sail away.. im still years away but I definitely am closer each week in saving. The closer we get the more i find we do with out to try and save more.. it will be worth it!
What I love about your channel is that you both are real. We see when you're happy as much as when you're done or tired or in ectasy because of an incredible experience you just had! You're not actors or like many pther channels in which they create a problem to solve or pretend smart or just attract attention. You're not star on a reality show. You're a kind couple living their life with a dog on a boat, determined to face whaterever comes. I perfectly understand the last scene on this video. It comes from real life. From the kindness of someone you'll probably never see but relates to you. That's one of the beauties of our techno "small world". Maybe you feel too committed to your patreons for their contribuitions (which is fair), and this is putting pressure on you as a work, exactly the pressure you were trying to escape when you started your journey. In my opinion, from miles and miles away, that's where you must focus you search for balance. I say this to all sailing couples that I follow: we are the spectators of YOUR journey. The only "obligation" you should have to us is to enjoy your journey and tell us how it is going. If nothing happens in a week, there's nothing to tell. That's life. Simple like that. Take a break to enjoy the journey. It is necessary from time to time to relax, let life flow with the head "empty" of obligations. I truly believe that none of your Patreons or followers want to see a stressed-out couple killing each other to take a boat around the world. A break, one time or another, is so needed. Specially when you're in Pradise - if you don't have time to experience its pleasures, what's the point, isn't it? In a small phrase: relax and enjoy it! Then tell us how it was, with no compromise with the agenda. All the best, my dears! See you on the next video - doesn't have to be next week ;)
Yes ! Sure ! This is the best video in my life. So many challenging, so many dramas, so many lessons we were provided from your meticulous work everywhere. I hope you guys enjoying the life on the boat. We are connecting with you anywhere ! Thank you so much for your wonderful videos !
I’ve been watching your channel since the beginning. I’ve enjoyed watching you guys tackle challenges and enjoying life together. Please know we truly appreciate your efforts and we will continue to live through your lens. Cheers!
Every time I dive into a video from Harbors Unknown, I'm blown away by the sheer quality and passion evident in every frame. Your storytelling isn't just captivating; it's deeply immersive, drawing us into worlds and narratives with such depth that it's impossible not to be moved. The cinematography and audio are consistently stellar, showcasing a level of dedication and skill that truly sets your channel apart. Thank you for continuing to share your incredible journey with us. Your work is a beacon of inspiration and a reminder of the power of visual storytelling. Can't wait to see where you'll take us next!
Those walls remind me of the big island Hawaii...the coral is only starting to grow but the marine life is amazing and the rock shapes are fascinating. Beautiful video!
Quite a varied episode... Sail surgery. Generosity of strangers. Free diving. A romantic hike. Doggie base jumping. Philosophy. I agree with your other commenter. This channel could be a television production, only it's more impactful for the soul than anything I've seen on TV. I'm inspired by you and others like Brooke and Gary, Beau and Brandy to make our own adventure plans come to life! You are appreciated!
I am loving your adventure for so many reasons. The videos are fantastic. So well done and informative. For us coastal sailors you are an inspiration. I love seeing Fabio’s cooking and his sewing……..just like a surgeon!! I noticed the great knots he is tying. The beauty of your hikes, your diving and especially the interactions with all the people have been wonderful, informative, and inspirational. One thing I thought about that you had mentioned on a previous video is sea sickness. You might want to cover some time how you have been staying healthy and dealing with health issues that have arisen on your journey. Wishing you Fair winds and gentle seas!! Bob Goldszer, Miami
You all inspired me to retired early when we visited Wanderlust at the Annapolis Boat Show. Really appreciate the love and enthusiasm in your voyages and exploration of local fauna and the native people. I liked the surgical knots in fixing you mainsail. Thank you and keep up the great work !
Wow, that is really flattering to hear! We hope you’re enjoying your retirement. Thanks for letting us know what you enjoy about the videos, it’s great to hear specific feedback!
What I love about your, and so many other channels for sailing, is the community. It is the closest I have found to the military family I have. You all support each other and pull together. I am so very glad I have this outlet to keep experiencing that now that I am retired.
Thank you for sharing your perspective! I have served (Fabio) different army but same spirit. We're honored to be compared to your military family and we welcome you in our family of sailors and RUclipsrs.
Been watching you since you set sail, and just noticed I wasn’t subscribed.. so I am now. The fantastic locals seem worth the work to keep in balance. Donate for a Dream
Your channel has quickly become one of my favorites. Your narration and thoughts throughout the videos are inspiring and beautiful. Thanks for all your hard work and the beautiful scenery.
Fun times binge watching all the channels I watch in my car on the way to work on a Monday morning. Get onto the motorway, car into self drive mode, phone in the dash and here we are… Harbours Uninown at 25km/h. 😂
You have a better autopilot than us!! 😂😂😂 amazing technology which can turn a boring drive into fun! Thank you for watching 💪💪. By the way we love our autopilot (we don’t want to make it mad 😂😂😂 in case it is listening)
We have no experience with marine vinyl (flexiteak is also made with vinyl). When we bought Wanderlust we only had the option of Flexiteak or white anti slip. We would definitely have it at least in the cockpit.
Heya Fabs, Kristin and Yodi. Really loved the video, I couldn’t agree more with the comment that you read out. I really appreciate all the work you put into making the videos and the sacrifices that you make to spend so much time meticulously making each video. I feel very blessed to be taken along this journey with you guys.
Awesome and inspiring, not to mention some mad MacGyver skills! New subscriber here, thanks for taking the time and effort to let us follow your journey! Cheers
Did I see someone on a hookah? We're thinking about getting a double system for the boat to use from the dinghy instead of dealing w/ scuba and compressors, etc. Especially now with the battery powered ones, seems attractive. Beautiful video!
We did not have a hookah, it was a dinghy line, trying to find a spot to secure the dinghy to the rocky wall. It would be nice to have one 🤩🤩. Thank you for watching😊😊
😊😊 Hi! We used it for a roast! We also made breadfruit gnocchi and used if for the sauce. We did have a pot of rosemary on board but it got burnt by sea sprays. ☹️. Thanks for watching 🤩
Hey Fabio, While you have the sail down, I'd be rounding off those corners of the makeshift batten's 'cap'. But just don't round them off - I'd be filing the ends off so that they are round and "smooth" everywhere - as a baby's bum before sailing with the new batten in the pocket. Otherwise the end will rub mercilessly at the pocket END near the LUFF and really destroy the sail at the worst possible place - near the luff edge - the worst place to try and repair. I'd even go so far as to dip the end in Resin to create a nice rounded glue 'knob' to the cap and have a more smooth finish to the cap after all the filing. Imagine if there were no jobs to do - just how bored you be! Ha Ha Ha! Do you have scuba tanks with you? That huge wall looked like such a fantastic dive site and the fish life was amazing. I have to agree with 'Carl Mims', your work effort in the videoing and lifestyle tips (especially Fabio's cooking segments! and your expert skippering of course!) show an unflappable ethic while sailing and dealing with life issues! Great job guys! Thank the LORD you found Yoda after the walk! Yay! WOW what a place, such great scenery and topography with stunning views. Fair 💨's and Following 🌊's.
Thank you for the advice on the batten caps, I did smooth the corners (not on video) but using resin to make it extra smooth is a great suggestion. We do have tanks but no compressor so we use them sparingly when we have friends who have a compressor. We like to keep them full for emergencies (like a stuck anchor 😂). When we get to NZ we will try to buy a compressor ( budget permitting. Yup, Yoda gave us a scare, it doesn’t come through on video very well but it was a steep and loooong way down. 😳😳
Thank you for the prompt reply. I apologise if my comments may seem common sense, which you are already aware of! LOL. I should have realised (with all your experience by now) that you'd be making better efforts than what is necessarily shown on camera! If you are going to resin the end you could even take the green tape off and pop a couple of strands of fibreglass tape of the ends and then use resin as per...I was going to suggest flat stitching along those patches on both sides as an 'after effort' - rather than just relying on the four corner 'tacks' - when you had the time. Hopefully the glue will hold well. I'm sorry you don't have a compressor yet. I think I had asked you previously. Keep looking around for a 2nd hand one on your travels. Just the thickness of the plantation was an issue let alone the steepness. Good job!@@HarborsUnknown
Great question!! We don’t own depth computers so we don’t really know. Kristin dives comfortably 50 feet and holds her breath for over 3 minutes on static breath hold. When chasing the eagle rays she recorded 3 minutes of video on the GoPro holding her breath, which is crazy. I (Fabio) used to do static breath hold for 4 minutes but since my 4 bouts with Covid I am struggling a bit
I'm going to double down on my comment last week. I definitely think a new main sail at a minimum is definitely worth consideration sooner than later. I know you previously said 3Di sails are likely out of your price range. I did see Doyle now does structured luff sails for cruisers now too and they have lofts in Asia. When it comes to getting new sails or at least a new main what are your thoughts on (North, Doyle, Kemp, Quantum, Ullman, Precision, Elvstrom, Ashby, etc...) Also, I've also enjoyed your content over the past few months. Your attention to detail is showing vs. some of your peers. It isn't a competition but it kinda is.
Thank you for watching and for your very flattering comment!! Our main is definitely on life support 😂. We plan to go to the Annapolis boat show and talk to some of the sailmakers to decide which one est suits our needs. We have worked with Precision Sails and have been very happy with them. We love NS 3DI. We had Elvstom on our Dragonfly 35 and love them. Hopefully when we are in NZ we can get a new wardrobe. Again we appreciate your viewership and support 😊😊😊😊
Hi guys, bit of a random question, your boat looks amazing with the flexiteak you have. I’ve been on a few boats recently where the flexiteak is marked or scuffed; In your opinion do you think it’s a good idea to have it or not? Thanks x
Thank you for watching and for asking an important question. Flexiteak has become popular for looks and practical benefits. Like anything else on a boat it comes with trade offs, advantages and disadvantages Low maintenance and durability- It is resistant to sun damage, saltwater, and abrasion, and stronger than natural teak. If you drop something heavy it will dent or mark, but the same would happen other materials. It also will scratch with sharp items. On the plus side, scuffs can de repaired with similar color paste and sandpaper. It is a bit porous, if you have standing water it will stain with mold but it sands like teak. It doesn’t stain permanently with diesel or oil. Look and feel- It provides the classy appearance of wood without the drawbacks. It comes in different colors to match different boat styles. When you walk on it, it is grippy and feels safe. Unfortunately it can get hot under direct sunlight, making it uncomfortable to walk on barefoot. Heat retention can also transfer to the cabin below. Cost: Over the long term, the low maintenance and high durability can make it a more cost-effective option compared to real teak, but not to regular gelcoat! It is supposed to last 15 years or more. The upfront cost can be high. Additional weight is another consideration. Thank you for watching, we hope that this answers your questions 😊😊😊
In a poetic tale on the sea's vast expanse, Two yachts set sail, each with its own chance. Wanderlust and Eoti, their names so clear, Embarked on waters where choices steer. As they sailed forth, diverging their way, Eoti chose the harbor, where comforts lay. While Wanderlust, bold and free in its might, Ventured afar, chasing dreams in the night. Half a world away, its sails unfurled, Wanderlust roamed, across the watery world. Eoti, anchored safe in the known bay, Content with the familiar, where it would stay. The winds of fate blew, each vessel's own course, Reflecting choices, with consequence force. In Frost's silent woods or on oceans wide, Two yachts, two paths, where destinies bide. Though different their journeys, the essence remains, In the choices we make, our life's refrains. For in every voyage, be it near or astray, Lies the echo of choices, along the way. Amidst the vast expanse of seas we roam, A balance we find, as wanderers and home. In cruising's dance, between those who venture far, And those who anchor close, beneath the evening star. Love's gentle breeze, a guiding light we share, In moments of joy, and burdens we bear. Through storms and calms, our souls intertwine, In the embrace of love, transcending time. The trials we face, like waves against the hull, Have weathered us true, through pain and pull. Yet, through it all, the beauty does gleam, In the depths of our hearts, like a timeless dream. In the tapestry of life, we're threads intertwined, In the fabric of love, our spirits aligned. For in our loves eyes, we see the reflection clear, Of the amazing humans, we hold dear. As we journey on, in the ebb and flow, May love be our compass, wherever we go. In cruising's balance, in love's tender grace, We find our home, in our loves embrace.
You are a poet end even I didn’t know it! Wanderlust roams, Eoti stays, Sam feasts well, while Fabio sways. Sam sips wine with a cheer, Fabio drinks water, not crystal clear. (With 450ppm because something is wrong with the water maker 😂😂)

@gbsailing9436 🙏 thank you 😊
You two are doing amazing underwater. How long do you hold your breath? And what is a comfortable depth for your underwater exploring? 👍
Bellissimo video❤️❤️
Grazie Mamma!!😊
I'm going to double down on my comment last week. I definitely think a new main sail at a minimum is definitely worth consideration sooner than later. I know you previously said 3Di sails are likely out of your price range. I did see Doyle now does structured luff sails for cruisers now too and they have lofts in Asia. When it comes to getting new sails or at least a new main what are your thoughts on (North, Doyle, Kemp, Quantum, Ullman, Precision, Elvstrom, Ashby, etc...)
Also, I've also enjoyed your content over the past few months.
Wow, glad Yoda didn't go pear. Glad you didn't either.
😂🤩😂 thank you 😊
Hi guys, bit of a random question, your boat looks amazing with the flexiteak you have. I’ve been on a few boats recently where the flexiteak is marked or scuffed; In your opinion do you think it’s a good idea to have it or not? Thanks x
Thank you for watching and for asking an important question.
Flexiteak has become popular for looks and practical benefits. Like anything else on a boat it comes with trade offs, advantages and disadvantages
Low maintenance and durability- It is resistant to sun damage, saltwater, and abrasion, and stronger than natural teak.
Wanderlust roams, Eoti stays,
Sam feasts well, while Fabio sways.
Sam sips wine with a cheer,
Fabio drinks water, not crystal clear.
(With 450ppm because something is wrong with the water maker 😂😂)
Fabio, ai chirurghi tocca il rattoppo delle vele, come tagli e cuci te non c'è nessuno.
Grazie!! Certe destrezze non si scordano mai! Grazie per il supporto e per le visioni del video! I
Un abbraccio caloroso 😊
